[Q] Unlock the BL on 4.3 - Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there,
I have successfully upgrade to 4.3.
I'd like to unlock the bootloader, then flash supersu and ... if the camera is so worse... relock.
My question is: I have a TA.img dump of early days of my phone (which works) do I need a new dump or after unlock, if not happy can I restore this one?
Thanks!

The bootloader bug is fixed on the new 4.3 firmware.

I would say you need a new Backup because something in this area has got an update.
I have already unlocked my bootloader following sonys guide.
Now i'm running the .290 Firmware from here
Whats next? How to bring a recovery and root to the phone?

if you are on 4.3 then backup your TA partition and unlock your bootloader via sonys website. Gregbradley said he might release a prerooted version of the rom, but its his birthday today so hes probably got plans

The issue was certified fixed by @DooMLoRD, I have a backup of my ta, so I felt safe.
I can confirm that on my device no issue anymore with the camera.

So we can start flashing and burning our phones with custom ROMs, like CM11 and AOSP, straight a way. Right?

Will the TA backup of a previous version okay with 4.3?

Should be.
But don't worry, I have just unlocked on 4.3 and the camera is fine.

Root Xperia T on JB 4.3 with locked booloader

Hello friends, i have a Xperia TL with a locked bootloader, i want to flash stock firmware Android 4.3 to my device via flashtool.
But how can i root my decive before i flash this rom. I have a locked bootloader and it says "allowed= NO".
I need to root because i want to restore my apps and data.
Why don't read "Xperia T, TL, TX, V Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting" first thread?

If you flash it with flashtool it's easy... Just disselect data wipe and then you don't need to restore your data or apps.

No, if you flash FW via flashtool, the root is lost.
I think you should :
1. Back up ur app by titanium backup.
2. Download 4.1.2 stock FW LT30at from HERE
3. Download newest 4.3 Unbrand and flash it via flash tool (u must choose exclude baseband)
4. Root it by my tool
5. Restore app
If root fail at 4.3, u can flash 4.1.2 stock then root and restore app. Good luck
Thank you again.. If root doesn't work.. Is there another method to root? I wanna stay on 4.3.

It installs a bunch of Chinese bloatware, language can't be changed and root CAN'T be obtained.
As much as I could understand it's a tool for MTK hardware and uses restore for root, and it doesn't work.

dear a_new_day, i was wondering if you would have a 'tool' for Xperia V (LT25i). I was searching the forums for a version that would work on my newly installed FM 9.2.A.1.199, JB 4.3. Your thread came up and I was hopeful but I read through it and it's for Xperia T :crying:
as of present I haven't yet found a working one for the new FM. I hope that DoomLord will soon come to the rescue...
thanks for whatever help/thread/link you can give. it's my only way to tweak the phone so as to increase the LIMIT number on SMS sent.

Yes, it totally wipes all data on the phone, e.g contacts, messages, call history, apps and data, and everything which belongs to internal storage.
You should get a backup before you unlock your BL.
You should just unlock it if you wanna root, and be aware of its pros and cons

Z1 KK is rootable because you can downgrade.
There are no rootable firmwares for the Z1S as it was introduced on 4.3 which has no root exploit.
