and if this helps, i did recive an update from at and t. idk if that is what isnt letting it moonshine, but ill try later.
and so far i didnt tamper with anything, just made a back up...and installed supersuer (not super su).
and um...i atempted reverse tether, and no i didnt touch the phone at all durring the proccess. it was in a stable location, didnt move, i have no idea what it can be. usb ADB worked just fine and fastboot was just fine.

OpenDSP - v9.2.0268.1214

NO, So far from what I've heard that doesn't work and might cause incurable side effects. Just use this http://www.androidruu.com/getdownlo...3_2_10.64.40.33AL_release_316579_signed_2.exe RUU to downgrade note that you have to relock the boot loader before running the RUU

Edit: as a safety precaution try running the RUU just by doing the OEM lock if it boots up (it'll save you lots of time)
Use this http://androidforums.com/internatio...-return-100-stock-revone-moonshine-s-off.html to s-on (yes it's for the One but it's universal I've already tested it on mine)
And then do the OEM lock command to lock boot loader then proceed to restore via RUU

Its okay the phone is working just fine. Just what I did is locked the boot loader through cmd.
But 1. Idk if its s off. I don't think so cause on hboot it didn't tell me it was.
2. Since its still s on (I think) can I unlock the boot loader?

That might get you back into a bootloop again.. Although you could try anyways, but either way a locked boot loader will be needed for restoring with the RUU so you can moonshine d: double check you aren't s-off just in case, you might run into future problems if you restore with it off..

No, a unlocked boot loader won't get through the RUU program so just keep that how it is.
And yes run the RUU I provided or the oldest one if you already have it and then run moonshine and it's done!
(Again btw make sure you aren't s-off I accidentally RUU'd with that off and had my phone unusable for a week)
And yes I agree although everything will seem to get easier the more you do it and I understand its difficult since you've come from and older lg device

Help with s-off

That's cool bro, me too not that long ago. HTC One is my first Android, and I love it. Reboot into bootloader (hold down volume and power simultaneously, phone will reboot into bootloader mode). You'll see your Hboot version there. S-off only works on Hboot 1.44.
A word of caution from one noob to another. S-off is serious stuff, and not really needed for 90% of the mods here at xda. You can flash custom roms and recoveries, and radios, all without S-off. Just be careful, and read Everything. I mean it, I have spent countless hours here at xda reading before I did anything. The community here is very willing to help, as am I.
What have you done to your phone thus far? Unlocked? Rooted? Custom recovery or ROM?
Appreciate it guys. Yea I'm running HBoot 1.44, so I guess that solves that, lol. Yea I have rooted my phone with TWRP recovery. I was really hoping to turn s-off so I could switch over to Google play edition. Any suggestions on roms and other stuff to try out? And Thanks for being helpful and patient with me. Unfortunately I'm used to dealing with jailbroken iPhones.

The fact that you're coming from the jailbreak community is good, imo. Thing is, it's practically impossible to brick an iPhone, even a jail broken one, as you could always just restore the iPhone. S-off definitely gives you the opportunity (possible but not probable, depends on what you do) to brick your phone permanently. That being said, I used Revone and it worked well and easily. Read and follow the instructions in the OP for Revone to a T. I recommend reading about the first 50 pages in that thread before you try anything also (ignore the last half of the Revone thread for the most part, just page after page of people shocked and complaining the can't S-off Hboot 1.54). Some people get Revone to work pretty easily, some try 20 times and then it just works.
Here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2390346 is a rom for GpE 4.3 that you could flash right now as you are, but yeah, you have to be S-off to fully convert.
From spending so much time here lately, some observations one noob to another:
-Either stay stock or go custom (I recommend custom), and stick to it. A lot of people here went custom (including S-off), and f'd up their Ones trying frantically to get back to stock for an OTA. Forums were littered with people who messed that up.
-Careful with TWRP. I use it and like it, but be very careful when you are wiping Dalvik/cache. Ton of people here blaze through the wipe options, then all it takes is a swipe, and suddenly they've erased everything and can't boot their phone. Just always triple check before that final swipe.
-if you modify your Hboot in any way, never ever go S-on until you flash a stock Hboot. Doing so will permanently brick your phone. I can't think of a reason to ever go S-on, but that was part if the whole return to stock for OTA scenario.
Hope this all helps!
Thanks so much for your help man. You have been a great help. So let me make sure I have this right. I have to change my HBoot version to be able to s-off at this point?

No! If you are n Hboot 1.44, you should be able to go S-off fine. I recommend Revone, only because that's what I used. Just read, read, read, and follow the instructions to the letter.

Not going to work. If you flash an international ROM you hose your storage partitions. Generally the only way to recover from this is via an RUU, but I'm guessing the user is S-ON so they'll have to wait for an updated RUU to turn up.
Need to try to get s-off, which will allow you to flash older ruu. Also I suggest in the future you read OP of any Rom you want to flash to make sure it's compatible with sprint

i have flashe internatinal rom trying to fix my gsm signal on my unlocked sprint htc one with no luck and the same has happened so ive fixed it by flashing recovery with the one click too or by using adb. Im s-off and unlocked though
same thing
I did the exact same thing. Flashed the revolution rom and selected the international version of it because it said that one applies to all carriers not listed below. stupid thing to overlook on my part. at first after doing so I was unable to get into my recovery then i used fastboot erase cache and once i did that I was able to fastboot flash the recovery image and navigate into it from the bootloader. ive tried everything i could think of once in my recovery, which is a version of cwm btw. Ive formatted data, erased cache and delvik, after that i tried installing my cyanogen 10.1 zip which i was successfully running without any problems for a day before i got greedy and tried to flash that international rom :crying: i made a backup of that working one but regardless of what I try doing whether it be restoring the back up that was working properly or re installing the cyan zip, every time it starts booting for about 30 secs then crashes reboots and tries again. it continues this loop for eternity and theres nothing i can do.looks like somebody said i messed up my internal storage partitions and im sol until a new ruu update comes out. I would greatly appreciate if someone would elaborate on that or point me in the direction of a good place to do some research on it. my bootloader says tampered, unlocked, s-on. there was also somebody that said try to get s-off and flash and older ruu. is this a possible fix?? i dont care how hard it is ill figure it out but right now im hurting for some help or direction. i appreciate any help. thanks

Are you trying this in fastboot? If you are just in the bootloader then the computer won't detect anything, but if you're in fastboot mode your computer should at least register an unknown device. And I don't think there are any 4.3 RUU's yet either...

No prob. I don't care so much, but some people do get quite pissy about such things as it helps streamline the forums. Just follow that guide. You made need to change things like the reboot command. [Q] need to downgrade hboot from 1.55 to get my s-off back

Can anyone point me in the right direction to either get s-off for HBOOT 1.55 or a tutorial or video on how to downgrade back to a version of HBOOT that I can run S-OFF on. I did the Sprint OTA 4.3 and need a little help.
I'm sorry to say it, but you can't s-off when on 1.55, nor can you downgrade. I found that out for myself.
I also did the OTA 4.3 upgrade with S-off on Hboot 1.44.
I now am on Hboot 1.55 and can unlock/lock my bootloader using the unlock code.bin I saved from HTCdev.
I cant believe I thought S-off was the same as unlocked bootloader....
Now im stuck with 4.3 BOO
How did you guys lose your s-off? I did the 4.3 OTA when I had s-off already, and I didn't lose mine

I was downgrading and upgrading and some things went wrong. I was stuck in recovery. Through the process of getting back to stock I guess I messed up.
At least I heard that the Devs are working on 1.55 : )
I found this but, its For ATT, and I don't really know if it would work.

So if anyone knows if a nandroid backup will restore everything, even hboot 1.55 to 1.44, I would love a link so I can download yours since I upgraded to windows 8.1 with a fresh install before backing up mine...
Also, if I have S-ON, which I cant tell except for the fact that I cant downgrade, why can I lock/unlock my bootloader?

No a nandroid does not contain the hboot. Sorry but you'll have to wait till some dev manages to s-off the newest hboot. You don't seem to know what s-off really means so don't worry, I'm sure you'll never need it.
Anyway here's a quote for you to read
In their devices, HTC have installed a sort of security check whose level is determined by S-OFF/S-ON. Essentially, this security level is a flag stored on the device’s radio that checks signature images for any firmware before it is allowed to be written to system memory. This hinders using any custom ROMs, splash images, recovery etc., and also restricts access to the NAND flash memory. However, when security level is set to S-OFF, the signature check is bypassed, allowing a user to upload custom firmware images, unsigned boot, recovery, splash and HBOOT images, as well as official firmware that has been modified, this enabling maximum customization of your HTC Android device.
Furthermore, S-OFF also reduces restrictions on accessing the NAND flash memory on the device, allowing all partitions (including /system) to be mounted in write mode while the operating system is booted.

Okay so as I understand it. When a developer says need to be s-off to flash a rom they do mean it ? or is it some special firmware you are talking about. I had s-off and lost it because I didn't do my research. I'm very disgusted with my self now i'm on H-Boot 1.55 and stuck... also I heard the devs are working on this h-boot to get s-off. Flash in fastboot original parts of the firmware like: Trust Zone (tz.img), Resource Power Manager (rpm.img), Advanced Digital Signal Processor (adsp.img), bootloader (hboot.img), Radio Config Data (rcdata.img), Splash Screen and others, very often device specific firmware like Consumer IR (cir.img) for the television remote controller in HTC One.
Flash in fastboot custom parts of the firmware above, however I've never seen in my life anyone compiling custom rpm.img or tz.img. I've seen custom bootloaders and Splash Screens only. You can also flash modified radio.img but there is rarely anyone out there who does this.
Use more advanced fastboot commands, for example you can change the CID (Carrier ID) of your device or even MID (Model ID). And this one is the most important one in the context of this article.
Reset the Tampered flag, so your device does not show up as "Relocked" if you relock your bootloader.

Oh really? Are you sure about that? Explain to me how we never had custom boot animations until we achieved S-OFF and also explain to me why everything I've read on the topic has been wrong. Le sigh.....
Maybe I slightly misread your post. You said main thing is "boot screens" you mean splash screens maybe? If so yes you do need s-off, however you don't need s-off to flash custom boot animations. Most importantly flashing a splash screen is not the main reason someone would need s-off, and I am sure the many users of this forum who have flashed a 4.3 based GSM Rom on their CDMA device and don't have s-off would agree.
Last but not least I was in no shape or form rude, even if you did mean to flash splash screens it's still total misinformation that isn't the most important reason to have s-off, it's to save your butt when your in a pickle.

And that's why I said "as far as ROMs are concerned..."
Of course S-OFF is used for more important things, but the person's question was about S-OFF in regards to ROMs. And what is a ROM going to do with S-OFF? I answered that question.

So with s-on can I still flash kernel and radio??? My biggest concern is that I won't be able to flash the kernel I want and the radio also when there's an official update how can I get that with custom rom I stalled? I rly miss having s-off rly does anyone know of a paid site who can do that for me?

[Q] 4.1.2 to 4.3?

Hey all I'm new to the HTC one and am a bit confused. I just got this thing yesterday and have unlocked the bootloader(HTC Dev), rooted it(SuperSU), and tried to S-off but it ended at this"must sanitize, skunky rum is nasty
hold please..............................................
[TTTT********************************************************]" so I'm not sure if it completed fine? Oh well. My question is...Can I upgrade from stock(4.1.2 to a ROM like ViperOne(4.3)? With no problems? I used to build SlimRoms for the Samsung Infuse and I know we couldn't just jump up builds like that. We had to go one android version at a time. Is this the case with the HTC one? Any help would be appreciated Thanks guys
Which hboot do you have? (you can check it in bootloader longpressing power and vol- when the phone is off).
If you have 1.44 hboot, i advice you to use the revone tool!
I believe I do have 1.44. I tried running sujo(?) Again and this time my phone rebooted to bootloader then to my phone's main screen and I had no data and couldn't unlock my phone. It said adb failed to load or something like that and "YOU fix it.." so I rebooted it and it's fine now..maybe dumb question how do I find out if I'm s-off or on? Because it may have worked..

What's sujo?
However, reboot in bootloader and check the s-on/s-off and the hboot

Reboot into bootloader (adb reboot bootloader or longpress power and vol- when the phone is powered off).
At the top you will see a line with the S-ON or S-OFF Text.

Same thing happened to me 2 nights ago, you have to install through redrummer twice, everything sticks the second time. I didn't read it completely when I did it.

So, I tried rumrunner again and this time it worked perfect. Now my device says S-OFF!
Now, Why does the OTA update not appear for me? Is it because my bootloader is unlocked? If so what's the safest process to go from 4.1.2 to 4.3? I'd like to update to the ViperOne ROM. Thanks for any help guys I really appreciate it.

The OTA depends about your cid.
However, you can upgrade to the ViperOne, just flash it in recovery.
p.s. I advice to flash the 3.62 firmware, so you will have a phone like the stock but with the Viper
