Hi everyone.This is my first thread in Galaxy Grand Duos GT-i9082 Android Development as i just got my new Galaxy Grand phone and previously i was developing for other devices so i may know much about the Galaxy Grand Duos firmware and i will try to understand as much as possible.Hope you will all support my work here

hello, first of all thanks for the credits.
Second of all i too had a same idea of building a rom without samsung apps.
And if you theme your rom which will make it unique then your rom is a hit. :thumbup:

See how multi tasking works n Thanx TecX18
I have tried almost every grand custom ROM in this forum but i hvn't seen eliminate multi tasking problem n to handle couple of apps with high cpu usage.
best example is when i was trying to restore my apps using App Backup & Restore, phone ws hanged and it took few minutes to come back to normal state.
So if this ROM shows any sign of lag/hang free multi tasking it would be great.
it is still downloading and will tested n gv you a feedback.
Thanx TecX18 for this amazing ROM since there is no plenty of Dev in this section to fulfill our desires

U don ve to remove sms log because call log does not show sms log in this ROM . As far i know, AOSP's don ve msg log in call log buddy. U ll find the options in aroma to add tw launcher, select it and flash it

But the dev said it does not work with aosp.
Is it? Try running the scripts through terminal emulator...if nothing wrong happened, then it should be fine...but one thing for sure, zipalign does not work...

HOW TO OPTIMIZE THIS ROM FOR ULTIMATE SPEED
Go to settings and clock on developer options.
Then change windows animation scale to 0.5x
Also change transition animation scale to 0.5x
Lastly change animation duration scale to 0.5x

How could it work with a different partition layout. It's either one or the other. So it's obviously not working on the ics one.
Oh and it will certainly suffer from the call bug as well.

It is not for ICS partition wont start instalation i wil try to change partition with AIO-P990-ToolKit from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2020737 and have one more guestion is in this rom call bug fix

Coming from ROM I9300XXEMG4
or higher the modem/radio XXEMG4 has changed your
/EFS format. Flashing my ROM and the matching
radio will leave you with the problem that you do not have connection to
your providers network. You would have to reflash
radio XXEMG4 (or higher and keep it) which can handle the changed structure
of /EFS or you restore your old EFS backup (be careful).
Updating or first installation
• Update:
Just check your AROMA installer settings and flash.
The installer does the needed wipes.
• Coming from another ROM:
Backup your data - NAND backup - /EFS backup - full factory reset -
wipe /preload - flash ROM

How about battery life ?
Original miui drains battery faster than stock Sammy rom..could you please compare it with stock Rom?
Also there is no Wi-Fi direct in miui roms...
One more thing: can we have sammy email app on miui?

rom works pretty fine so far
only one problem:
i can´t run gangster vegas on it. i restored with titanium backup. game runs till the gameloft logo appears, then boom, back to homescreen :/

Don't know what could be the problem. Too busy to test games running on ROM.

I tried to get the ROM lag free, but it is based on 4.1.1 which is just not a good base. When MIUI v5 SGS3 is updated to 4.2.2 base it will get better. Depends on Samsung and Xiaomi Devs.

Battery life is good in standby, if you have no or just not many background applications running you can get results of 0,5 - 0,9% battery loss / hour. Screen on battery is not that good but for my needs OK.
The features you miss... well, I can't help with that. I get many requests for cooking in features, but I can't implement them all.

May be there isnt enough RAM to run your game ! MIUI usually takes its toll on RAM

Hope camera works on this one as I really love the MIUI roms. Tried both the 4.2.2 version and the other thread with the Samsung base 4.1.1 tonight and both had camera errors :/ Thanks for this!
Camera should work.
I too have a SGS3 with the camera crash problem.
That is the reason why I use Adam Kernel for my ROM.

Maybe a bit better - I updated the kernel to Adam 2.6 (which is as it seems the last release that'll come cuz wanam has a SGS4 now and it has priority). For me I am quite satisfied with the bttery life. But as said before: 4.1.1 Android base is not fantastic.
"Screen on" battery could of course be better, but I am a rookie ROM cook and not a magician...
