My phone keeps turning on from sleep in my pocket because of the home button and clicking stuff. Is there anyway to disable the Home button wake feature? I tried to turn it off using Wanam but it doesn't work.

There is a db file in settings for "home button wake 0" change that to a 1 with any sqlight app.

That's strange - I had no trouble doing it with Wanam. Check that wanam is working in general, and that you've rebooted appropriately. Sometimes I've found I need to reboot twice to make Wanam settings take effect.

I am running CM11 on my GT-I8190L.
Here is my question. Does "double tap to sleep" have the same effect as pressing the power button? IOW does the power button actually put the phone to sleep, or does it just turn off the screen?
Thanks

Its behaviour (should) pretty much reduce the use of the power button. Depending on the kernel and configuration, it might or might not (deep sleep as an addition), but by default it should.
Wondering if anyone else is having this problem, when I click on the home button to wake the phone it takes 4-6 seconds before it takes me to the lock screen. Any thing I can do to fix this?
Thanks

Just a thought, you might want to check apps like my magazine and S voice settings. They both have options to open via double pressing the home button. If these are enabled the home button may delay to see if a second press is coming. (Although 4-6 seconds seems excessive) I disabled that option in those app settings and have no delay when waking using the home button.

What if the s voice settings weren't the problem with home botton before the KitKat update ?

Removed your sdcard and test, if you dont have one nevermind
Does this always take a long time? As in if you have device on and press power button to turn off. Then immediately press the home button. Does it take a long time?
Maybe your device is in a really deep sleep and it needs to wake up. If it is in a deep sleep, that's a good thing. If we had a better kernel we could control the situation better. Unfortunately we can't get one at the moment.
Hey so when my phone is in my pocket it turns on by its self and i think its the home button being pressed. I have all the gesture stuff turned off. I was wondering if I could make it so hitting the home button doesnt turn on the phone, ya know, cause thats what the power button is for. Also if I could make the recent apps button into a menu button(instead of having to long press it) that would be cool to.
No case? Pants too tight? I had the wave to wake checked for some reason and that kept turning it on.
I would also like to be able to shut the home button off to wake the phone. I have a good case on mine and I wear loose pants and my screen still turns on.

Wanam xposed had an option to disable the home button from turning on the screen.
For the changing the recents button to menu, you have to edit /system/usr/keylayout/Generic.kl
find button 254 and change it from APP_SWITCH to MENU
Just making sure we are talking about the same thing.
I'm not sure which settings you're liking at but I was referring to the wanam xposed system settings (if you're using xposed)
I was referring to the OP and was showing the phone settings.
Is it possible to have the power button behaviour modified so that it only turns the screen off? I'm hoping there's a utility or setting somewhere.
When the phone is in my pocket it constantly turns itself on and starts tapping away. It never gets past the lockscreen but it's annoying to have battery drained like this.

Are you sure it is the power button and not rather the tap to wake that is activating it in your pocket? (Settings->Display->Tap to wake up)

I had the exact same problem. Tried the following things:
1) Changed the locker - used Nils Locker Master - worked well, but it stopped working with recent 5.0.2 update.
2) Used PIN lock - too inconvenient, and even then the emergency call button would get 'tapped' accidentally while in my pocket
3) Currently using a nice cover which raises the edges around the power button slightly, so it doesn't get pressed automatically anymore when in my pocket.

Thanks but it has been happening for a long time before I enabled tap to wake so that's not it.

Do you have a link for "Nils Locker Master"?
ATM I have pin lock and that's fine.
I prefer not to have any sort of cover/case.

Hi

By some accident key press I've done this a couple of times already and have used the assistant to turn it off, but damn it's frustrating. Is there any way to disable this either by killing the app or by removing the special key press? Thanks for your help. If it matters I'm coming from a Note 8 so the power button and volume are slightly different which is causing my issue.
Open settings, search for talkback, turn it off.
Of course I've done that but some key press combo reopens it.
