Hello,
I backed up my contacts by kies and cannot restore them. I wonder how you guys transfer memos and contacts through different roms.
Also, battery life is important to me. I am looking for a fast stable, low rom usage and high battery performance. Any suggestions?
Thanks
U have to download app called copy to simcard from Google play and copy your all contacts from Google account to simcard.

you can try roms like
1 the ultimatum rom
2 touchwiz rom by skywalker
or stock if you don't like any of these
sync your contacts with google or export contacts to sim card
For backing up contacts, you can also use Export to SD in the contacts menu. This will yield a file in SD. Later on when your new rom is installed, you can then use import from SD in the contact menu which will automatically detect this file, restoring your contacts in the process.
Great
Thanks for the replies.
I was thinking of a very light ROM like Thunder Bolt 4. I tried it last night, but it does not support arabic, and the browser (mini opera) is not working on my wifi.
It connects to the signle, but won't open saying "unable to connect to internet, please check settings".
If I can get to put the mini opera to work, and manage to have arabic supported, that would be great.
I found the contacts and I will store them in my SD from now on.
Thanks again

Hell everyone,
I tried using search to find a solution for this but I havn't been able to. I am currantly about to install a custom ROM. I have downloaded Hardspl and isntalled it on the phone. But after watching the who to install a custom ROM i found out that all my contacts and sms will be deleted. I tried to save through sync but i don't have outlook on my computer and therefore cant save them that way. I was wondering how do I save my contacts and sms without using outlook. I have installed NS Contacts Backup v1.2 but I can't find the file assosiated with contacts and sms'. IS there another way I can back up my contacts and sms before installing the custom ROM??
Thanks
I think that you will find what you search here
I second PIMBU
MS MyPhone online backup.

or spb backup...http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/pocketpc-software/backup/
hmm.. I have similar problem....I need to transfer contacts from my old P910i(yes, Symbian device) to my X1.
Anyone knows how?
I cant even copy contacts to SIM card since it can be copied only one-by-one, and I have really A LOT of contacts, so it would take a great deal of time.
Any suggestion ??

1. MyPhone through the internet
2. Best solution: use free PIMBackup by FdcSoft.
Great free app making backup of data to your storage card, restorable any time.
Backups contacts, sms, mail, calendar, tasks etc.......

Symbian phones should allow for select all > copy from Phone to SIM.
I should know, I shifted from a 5700XM (S60) to Xperia (excluding the retarded stopgap LG Arena in the middle.)

Oh please. How can you store 1000 contacts to SIM?
With multiple data like email, many numbers, address?
The only way from P910 to X1 is Outlook,
that's what I did from P1 to X1.
You can sync contacts, calendar, notes, tasks.
Beware: better sort all the contacts the way they're present in Outlook/WM phones or you'll loose some data,
like multiple MOBILE numbers: WM accepts just one mobile, on UIQ you could add as many as you want....

download Contacts + v3.14. from play store, you can backup practically everything
opps, or try this
Export your phone contacts to your SIM card

I know this is ridiculously late, but Simpler Contacts app does what you asked for. It can export contacts per account. It makes backups in VCF format on the SD card. I've been searching for such thing for 3 years.
After continuosly flashing my device smt I have to format so all contacs are lost,
Ususally I use the export to sd card feature to restore contacs,
I`ve tried the outlook and Kies Sync, also Google sync,
but it seems none of them is perfect, because many joined contacts and icons are lost,
Which is the best way, without using any back up Apk?
u can export ur all contacts from contacts menu...u can backup them in ur sd or sd card and copy them in ur pc and then after flashing import back the contacts......this is the best way i do.......coz in this contacts remain as same as last time.......nothing is change no pic and associated contacts of gmail and other remove.
The best was is move your contacts to your Gmail account and let them sync.
Then if you have to wipe your device you can get everything back by just entering your Gmail email address and password.

I only sync my contacts and calendar to google. Don't technically use the phone or sim at all. Every flash I add my google account again and it's all back!
That's the way to do it.
Sorry for being stupid but how do I sync my contacts to gmail

The export as stated in the second post is my way to go.

What about the joined contacts with facebook, do they come back after restore?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
I use both local back up (SD ) and google sync
I prefer Google Sync .
Google sync is good, it actually can restore your contacts to early time , I backed back to SD card too but till now , I haven't use it .
Google all the way, so easy! I really can't see what the problem is!

They do in my case. Or you could try an add-on contact manager app like GOcontacts which has the capability to search for duplicate contacts and then merge.

Me too, never lost any contacts or calendar entries...
i backup phone numbers in sim and all of them in google and facebook contacts stays there as it will synch back
backup contacts to sd card.... move them to PC then export them to your gmail contacts... gmail will join same contacts.
thats it... never lose your contacts again
vCards
I often us the share option and send the contacts a vCard to my gmail, and after flashing i just go to that email and download the vCard and all my contacts are restored. The other plus in that way is that i can choose which one to sand as vCard
MyPhoneExplorer has always done it for me
1. Backup Contacts, SMS, Events
2. Installs APKs
3. File Explorer and lots more
Have never touched Kies....
I save my contacts to ext sd card

Same here, Google sync is most reliable !
try Uia backup contact
synchronising your contacts either with your google acc. or an exchange account is a very reliable solution to protect your contacts. if you setup your fon from scratch you just have to hook up to the network and get connected to your 'cloud service' - the sync function installed on your fon will do the rest in seconds / minutes.
I just got my GT-N7100 and was trying to migrate my N-7000 contacts and other backedup data to the new device but it wont take the files associated with GT-N7000 Does any one have any idea on how to do it without much hastle.
sync to google, Log into google on the new phone and sync contacts Job done :good:
As for data, What data are you referring to ? Are both phones rooted? If so, Try titanium backup

The google contacts have synced the one on my SIM wont , messages, Music. I even created a backup og GT-N7100 and it uses 4 different file formats but nothing that would support GT-N7000 file format (i guess it is .Sub)
As much as I hate Kies, Have you tried it ?
It does have a backup function which should transfer across to the new Note. If not, There are apps that can backup messages and playlists, Im pretty sure Titanium can do this also (I dont backup messages, and all music is on external SD)
The sim contacts should be easy to transfer, Just pop the sim into the new Note and then export from SD to Phone, Or do this on the Note 1 and then sync them to google and resync on Note 2

Yes i created backup using KIES itself thats how the .SUB file extension was created. As far as the Sim goes the problem is both the sim's are different one a regular while other a micro sim (Microsim can get stuck in N7000 without the adapter). I have the cutter and can cut the sim and slide it in the new note but wanted to move the contents from it before cutting. Havent tried titanium backup will do it today and see if the backup files created by it on N7000 are compatible with N7100.
Oh my bad ! I didnt know you had used Kies. Im not sure what extension it creates cause I never use it lol I hate it !!
You shouldnt have any issues with titanium, Its a wonderful tool that can do almost anything.
As for the micro sim, I didnt know the Note 2 had one what is with these damn things I hate them, reminds me of people trying to be like apple !
Anyway good luck
Here some suggestions
Use this guide how to restore kies contact backup
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30984377&postcount=5
- try this
In note1 go to contact display options and make all visible
Then contact - export/import-export to ext sd card
Then use same micro sd to note2 and same wat use import from contact
Use sms backup/restore for msgs
-read toolbox from my note 1 signature and find transfer data application
You can transfer contact and msgs from one device to other devices with blutooth.

Hi guys! yesterday I installed Cyanogenmod 11 4.4.4Kitkat (2014729) in my GT-I8190 and it works perfectly but i have one problem..
first at all, I'm from Argentina, sorry for my [email protected]#t english
Well, i have a problem whit my contacts provider, contacts manager, contacts app or whatever u call it. The story begins when I did the backup of my contacts, config, networks and messages whit Kies(yup, my bad [NOOB]), once installed CM, kies didnt read my phone(searching in forums I found out that Kies only read phones whit official roms ). Well, I only cares about contacts for now, so looking back to search in forums I could convert my .spb backup archive to a .vcf archive(one for each of my contacts), then I imported them to my phone from the contacts manager(the default in CM) and everything seemed to be fine, but wen I restart my phone and go to the contacts, I dont find them!! There are no any saved contact!!(WTF).
So, here is my solution: replace the default contacts app. I dont want to download other contacts app from the play store and also have the default one. I WANT TO UNINSTALL THE DEFAULT CONTACTS APP AND REPLACE IT WHIT ANOTHER APP DOWNLOADED FROM PLAY STORE OR ANY OTHER SITE. If for do this i need to replace the dialer app to, I dont care.
Can someone help me whit this? Thanks to all

i dont think its possible as all other contacts app such as contact+ and go contacts use the people app for the contact database...why don't you run them side by side..and use only the alternative app as default..i hear contacts+ is a really good option..also supports facebook and google+ sync and best of all its free

Have you checked if show contacts "all contacts" is selected in the options section of your contacts manager?
