So I had my HTC One rooted and flashed viper rom. I relocked the bootloader and flashed back to stock rom 1.31.651.2 and everything went smoothly. I went to system updates and it found the 4.3 update and downloaded it. When It gave me the option I clicked install now and the phone rebooted, but into the HTC screen with the development warning and then straight into bootloader and did nothing after that. I rebooted and tried install now again and the same thing happened. What am I doing wrong? Why wont the 4.3 install?
I would suggest getting S-OFF before taking the OTA.
BTW it's NEVER a good idea to take an OTA
I would assume there's already an odex and deodex version of stock 4.3 floating around somewhere. That's usually the first things devs release when it comes to OTAs.

If you are taking an ota on a stock rooted Rom you need to.flash the stock recovery. It will not work if you still have custom recovery on your phone.

Sure it is, I took it knowing I had S-Off and that the OTA wouldnt reenable the security flag. That's all you need to do is be S-Off to ensure you can downgrade if need be.

Awesome. That worked. It wouldn't install the first 2 times, it pretty much just went to installer, did nothing, and then factory reset itself, but the third time was a charm and it installed fine. Thanks so much for your help!! Greatly appreciate it.
Unlocked bootloader, flashed TWRP 2.6 but supersu did not root. Fortunately I did a backup of my stock unrooted rom and was able to revert back to it. I just want to know if I un root and relock my bootloader can I still RUU a stock rom since I wasn't really rooted. If so will I be able to receive OTA updates in the future. Thanks

Anyone know if there's an easier way to regain stock recovery back after using slapmymoto .5c and then motowpnomo. Id hate to flash all the way back down, wipe and root using slapmymoto 1.0. It would be much easier if I could just regain access to recovery. Its seems possible from what I know about the exploits but maybe someone here knows the details.

if you have a locked bootloader slapmymoto hijacks it and you can not use it when rooted.
If you need access to a recovery on a locked bootloader then i would suggest flashing SafeStrap via the link below

if you need the stock recovery then you are going to have to go back to stock 4.4 unrooted
why do u need to get into the recovery so bad??
I wanna be able to remote wipe if needed. I know the newer version of slapmymoto doesn't hijack the recovery like it did in previous versions. Since I have already used motowpnomo I was seeing if there's a way get rid of the original recovery hijack that slapmymoto .5c used since its technically no longer needed if motowpnomo has been run. I'd hate to sbf back to 4.2.2 and run he exploit just to get recovery working again

I mean you can flash the stock recovery via fastboot but I think it will just cause issues

Like it says I'm on Sprint rooted xposed custom how I like. Have cwm recovery.
I think it's worth it to go back to stock to take 4.4 ota since we have recovery for kit at now?

Currently rooted with Low Effort Root. Still using stock recovery. Can I take OTA and just Root again?

I was rooted then flashed the 10n kdz since I haven't received the notification for the update.Then I just re-rooted with a pre-rooted 10n.img user Rydah805 posted http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-g4/development/h81110n-stock-rooted-image-t3191038
