[Q] Ativ S cant charge and detect at computer - Windows Phone 8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
My Samsung Ativ S cant detect when I connect to my laptop and it wont charge. I tried to master reset and hard reset, still the same issue.
You guys have any idea how to solve the problem?

Have you tried multiple microUSB cables and multiple USB ports (or even multiple computers)? It might not be the phone at fault. If it is, though, the problem is probably the microUSB port coming loose. That's a hardware issue and will require disassembling the bottom of the phone for physical repair.

TyTn II usb problem.

Usually when i connect the phone through the mini usb cable to the pc it syncs and everything is fine.I tried to do it today. The specific sound when in plug in the phone is gone. The led indicating that the phone is charging is off.I have a HTC prophet and it works fine with same computer, same cable.I tried hard reseting the phone, it did not help.Ideas?
As expected, it was a problem with my mini usb port.As it is not broken yet i found that inserting the cable and rotating it a little bit (as much as the port itself allows) counterclockwise will reestablish the connection .The only question now is can i manually replace the mini usb port?

Not sure exactly what you mean by not recognized on your PC but take a look at this post to help you troubleshoot your issue.

[Q]Xperia Z1 charging,but wont connect.

Well the tittle says it all my xperia play when i am connecting via usb to pc is charging but wont connect ... i have tried different pc and one more different cable and the same issue .I am on DzStriker 5.0
i dont think that is a rom issue right?
i've experienced this on a htc, visualy inspect the microusb plug on the phone, check for brocken (bent) pins. On that htc, a pin was bent over, so when the plug was inserted it was only charging

I can't get my phone to connect or charge from any computer.

So I seem to have a very weird issue with the USB connection on my Sony Xperia XZ2 running Android 8.0.0 with the build version 51.1.A.11.51. It refuses to connect or charge on almost any computer. The phone doesn't seem to recognize that it's connected to a computer. The computer doesn't see that my phone is connected either. I tried different USB ports, different computers, and different cables and they all won't connect to the phone. The exception is my laptop, which has a dedicated fast-charging port. When I connect my phone to that port, the phone charges, but it doesn't recognize that it's connected to my laptop and the laptop doesn't see a device connected either. Enabling ADB on my phone doesn't seem to do anything.
The strange thing is that almost all other USB functionality works fine on my phone. The phone charges fine from both a normal power brick and a fast charging brick. Both analog and digital based audio adapter dongles works perfectly fine too. USB based Android Auto does not seem to work, but it still charges the phone when I connect my phone to the car.
I also noticed that if I plug my phone into a computer while the phone is off, it would briefly wake up to the Sony logo and have the charging light come on for a few seconds until the screen changes to the battery percentage. Booting up my phone while plugged in doesn't seem to fix the issue.
The bootloader is locked and it has the stock recovery, so I don't think fastboot works (but I'm willing to try if it fixes the issue).
I've already tried spraying electrical contact cleaner into the USB port and also tried cleaning the port with a small plastic zip tie. I don't know how long my phone has been like that since it's been over a month since I last connected it to my computer. I don't know anything else I could do besides resetting the firmware, doing a firmware update, or sending in my phone to Sony for repairs. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm willing to try it.

my laptop not recognize my phone noting happened.
what should i do ?!
I there any thing should i changed or repair?!
please help me thank you
No usb, no fast charging and no otg
This same issue just started happening to me a few weeks ago also.
I have two 5t phones so I know it's not the cables which I have multiple.
And I use my phone for work also and have been unable to connect to transfer work pictures.
I'm worried because I can't factory reset because I'm unable to back up my data. I cannot transfer 100gb!!
I need help. I have tried all developer options, also usb settings reset notification and permissions the phone and even had the usb port replaced thinking it may have been damaged with no help.
If you search the op3/t forums for the last three years a bit, you'll find that many (not all, but quize some) usb/otg/dash-charge issues (especially if happening out of the blue without changing roms, installimg new software or messing with settings) are due to dirt. Cleaning the device's usb-c port may help.
