Is there any way to get the Google Experience Launcher on a rooted nook HD+?

Anyone have any luck getting Google Apps running in oldmacnut/spacemoose's Honeycomb port?
I'm using CM9 and it loads Gtalk and Gmail in tablet layout, however google reader shows up in phone UI, is there a way to have it in tablet UI?
I have the Nook HD+ and replaced the stock ROM with CM 10.1. I loved it for the most part, but I had a problem with accessing multimedia in magazine subscriptions I had with Google Play Magazines. For example, in Entertainment Weekly, I couldn't play audios or videos (the former did nothing, the latter displayed a black screen with an X at the top to close the non-existent video). In Time Magazine, Twitter feed updates displayed nothing. I have no problems whatsoever accessing them with my Kindle Fire HD. Uninstalling and reinstalling didn't help. So I replaced CM 10.1 with CarbonRom. I still have the same problem. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can fix this?
I am no stranger to rooting and installing custom ROMs on phones. But I am a new KFHD 7" tablet owner. Bought it for $129 on sale at Staples and now I'd like to customize it (for the price, it can't be beat). So, I'd like some opinions/feedback because I am not sure if I can achieve what I am after. So... my requirements:
- I'd like to keep the Amazon Instant Videos feature
- I'd like to install Play Store, Google+, Google Hangouts, GMail, Google Voice, Google Maps, Play Music, You Tube, Google Voice Search
Based on my preliminary browsing of the Kindle forums, it seems like I can root, then install some Google apps... but if I do that, will these particular Google apps be fully functional and not FC frequently?
I am trying to strike a balance between Amazon content and the Google Apps I use daily. I've had the Nexus 7 tablet for 9 months (gave it to family member) and while the pure Android experience is okay, I really would like to keep Amazon's streaming video capability on my KFHD.
Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

EDIT: I hope that installing a custom ROM is not the only way to get the Google Apps I listed.
If you want to go the ROM route, check out Kinology. It has both amazon framework and Google. Also you can install 3rd party launchers without copying them to system.

To keep Amazon video and get the google apps, you will need a kindle hd based rom that has been rooted and google apps added or you will have to root and do this yourself. Off the top of my head like the previous poster said Kinology I believe has the features you are looking for...
Thanks guys, for the information.

Howdy folks,
I am now the proud new owner of an hd+. It was marketed that nook had the full play store but in my experience, chat and messaging apps, google voice, talkatone whatsapp etc are marked as incompatible in the play store.
So far I am trying to live with the stock 2.1 nook rom.
Sorry for the noobish post but is this normal behavior and is this consistent with their "full play store" advertising?
Is it possible to root the rom and edit nook build.prop or is custom rom only way around it?
Thanks for your helps!

This behavior is the same as other users. Just because Play Store says it is not compatible does not mean it won't run on the HD+.
You can go to my HD/HD+ CWM thread and use my CWM SD to flash my Extras zip and it will allow you to install apps from unknown sources. No need to root. Then you can use other stores like Amazon.com or 1mobile.com and install from those. Or you can sideload the app from other devices.

The one catch is newer apps that are listed as "not compatible with device" will usually not work even when side loaded. They will install fine, but will not work when you try to run it.
