Root it by using windows 7.... Windows 8 drivers are not fully compatible and hence some MISHAP may happen

Ive rooted my phone with Windows 8 There is absolutely no threat of doing so. You just need to disable driver signing so that it can recognize them. Apart from that its the same as with windows 7.

Mb886 atrix 3 hd rooted! Thanks
Not that the warranty if expired, i used the motochopper to root. It worked very well and super easy! The one thing is that i had to do a partition clear and a factory data reset before it worked.. Which was fine. Now im sitting in awe trying to think about what all i want to do.
First thing i did was installed titanium backup. Then downloaded root app delete, which is a really nice free app to (delete system apps) it has a safety feature for novices like myself.
Just wanted to say thanks a million!
Now that ive tested it on mine ill do my moms.

Unlock Bootloader via Windows 8 64bit?

Has anyone been able to unlock the bootloader using Windows 8 64bit?
My brother has been trying to do so with my One for a while and nothing seems to be working.
Could this be a Windows 8 compatibility issue?

But look at the HD2 you could have windows mobile, windows phone and android on that thing
An HTC one sold with android does not have a windows license. So flashing a windows rom onto it would be stealing/piracy.
That's not a technical barrier to making it happen; but most forums tend to frown on openly redistributing copyrighted material. If it happens it would probably be some tools released to make it possible, with you having to "find" the windows files elsewhere.

Oh... Well...still I'm sure xda will have no business with a windows port of it is closed source
A windows port if a similiar HTC one is released for that os will not happen. Everything down to the bootloaders and partition format will be different and locked. Hardware will probably be completely different in the inside to accommodate the hardware restrictions of WP.
A windows phone ruu contains the os, radio, spl, and carrier partitions. Porting something like that to android and it's 10+ partitions, no.
The HD2 has windows phone since it was a dev device. Right now wp7 runs off test drivers. Android works because DFT released a custom bootloader that loads after the HTC one so they can boot any system they want.
At any rate it would be the other way around. An android port for that device would be technically possible.

[Q] What is the status of the 64 bit root?

Hi,
Does anyone know what the status of the root for the 64 bit 510 is?
Is it simply a matter of someone needing to compile a version of twrp or are there some more significant barriers that need to be overcome?
Thanks,
i am also wondering the same thing

I'm almost certain your phone will be 32bit in which case you will be fine.
One way to check is by using an app called cpu-z. If your cpu shows up as A11 something it is 32bit, if it shows up as A53 it is 64bit.
The 32 bit TWRP works great on my cricket 510. I going to look for that program cpu-z.
I need somebody with a 64 bit device (NON US) to pm me

try to BOOT this. DO NOT FLASH
ie "fastboot boot 64bit.img"
it doesnt have write protection disabled. if it boots, it is then safe to flash.
