Hey guys,
at the moment I am on 4.2.2. and .257 with my C6903
with backup TA and stuff plus
flash dual recovery and Criskelo on a locked bootloader after that.
I experienced some performance and battery issues due to reasons I dont want
to specify further
so now I got back to stock, did the whole OTA process with root
I bought my device from O2 DE and flashed Generic DE FTF
the question is:
Is Generic DE FTF or Central Europe FTF the right package to return the device back to stock?
(Mainly I have a pain in the *** because they delay the 4.3. for some of the german carriers so I wondered whether it does actually matter
what FTF I run on my device)

Hi everyone,
Today, the 14.1.G.2.257 OTA update was finally available here in France. However, when I try to install it, after a short moment with Budroid and a progress bar that doesn't reach the end, the phone reboots and a message saying the update failed appears.
There is ROM available that suits me, so I want to make this work.
I'm running a stock 14.1.G.1.534 for C6903, rooted with vRoot, and debloated a little. I also have the dual recovery, and my bootloader is still locked.
Thanks for reading !
had the same today was on ee 534 in the uk & had ota update note and fail. so flashed generic uk 534 in flashtool & unticked wipe options except cache then re-rooted with kingo & then got update via ota again & now have 257 with root. onlt takes about 20 minutes. hope this helps
Tested and approuved with generic Fr 534.
Thanks a lot !
Alright, Just got my xperia Z1 today. Looking to root it. Seems like I need the .534 FTF.
My phone is the C6906 from Telus. The only one with .534 ftf is for Rogers. Does anyone have the generic, the Telus or know if I can use the Rogers ftf to downgrade my phone in order to start rooting it?
Use any .534 for your model to start rooting. It doesn't matter if branded or not, you will upgrade anyway to Pre-Rooted by NUT.
Hi,
Really couple of quick questions... I have read the tutorials on flashing stock firmwares, I have got all the software downloaded (Xperifirm and Flashtool). I just want to debrand my phone (i.e. no O2 apps and no O2 boot screen).
I have picked out the Customized UK Unbranded firmware 23.0..1.A.5.77.
My current firmware is O2 Pay monthly UK 23.0.1.A.5.77
Does anyone see any forseeable issues with what I am about to do? First time flasher of Xperia phones - I have been a Samsung shill for far too long!
Kind Regards,
Neil

Hi,
I've also got the phone on O2 pay monthly and considering flashing the generic UK firmware. Did you use the links on the firmware thread to obtain the UK one? The links seemed to not work when I tried to download.
Have you read about creating your own flashtool file (ftf) for the current firmware? I would advise you to do so before getting rid of the O2 firmware as a backup ftf. You can repair the phone using the Sony PC companion and that would download the necessary files to create the ftf.
I have used couple of Xperias before and have always used flashtool to flash different firmware many times. The consensus regarding warranty and flashing seems that you do not loose the warranty in doing so and I have hoped it is so in flashing the other Xperias.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately this was not a successful attempt. I got the firmware using the app Xperifirm and decrypted it and created the flashing files in Flashtool as per instructions in another thread. I could not get the drivers to work correctly for Flashtool to function correctly however. Once I got to the flashing stage and Flashtool asked me to power down the device, I would then hold down the Vol - button whilst putting in the micro USB cable and it would fail instantly, first saying the driver was not installed and then after a lot of fiddling that the loader.sin would not install and again fail straight away. After a couple of hours of messing around I gave up.

Am I right in thinking that you downloaded this firmware when you posted about it back in 2015? If you did and you still have it would you be able to send me a copy? It seems to be unobtainable now from the internet.
Kind regards
Simon
Hi there,
I am looking to flash 14.4.A.0.157 on my stock (not rooted, stock everything) Rogers C6906, but the only available option right now is the US Generic FTF from the FTF megathread. Now, I'm sure this will flash successfully since the hardware is the same, but will this affect my ability to receive OTA updates from Rogers? Lollipop is due in a few months and I still want to be able to get that.
Basically, what are the risks (if any) of flashing this generic FTF on my Canadian C6906, and can I revert back to the stock Rogers firmware if needed?
Hello everyone, I just want to ask. I've Xperia XZ2, it's AU Model (SOV37), using Global Firmware (H8216).
I want to flash back into it's original firmware in order to use the NFC.
I already download the Japan Firmware (SOV37_KDDI JP_52.0.C.5.295-R13B), but I'm afraid that it will sim-locked if I flash it.
I'm also afraid that since this device wasn't able to unlock the bootloader (since the Bootloader Unlocked Allowed: No), can I still flash the firmware?
Can anyone show to me step by step how to flash the firmware (Not flash the STOCK ROM)?
Thanks in advance.
as long as you delete all the .TA files there shouldn't be any problem, though the latest japan firmware available is android 9
not sure what you mean by firmware though, since technically what you trying to do is flashing a firmware as in stock rom
