Got an at&t tab here, I upgraded to JM6, flashed the modem, and rooted it, all was well, untill I realized that I couldnt get into recovery to wipe. So I went into d/l mode, and couldnt get out, loaded up Odin3 and attempted to flash the bell modem again just to get it to reboot. Well it froze up, and now all I get is a communication error picture: "phone ----- !-----PC"
Help please, its brand new and going to be sold
From my experience you can power off the unit, put it in dl mode again flash the Bell modem with no partion, no pit and with reboot selected and it should do a regular startup!

I lost d/l mode. But somehow the second time I attempted to flash JM6 with odin, while seeing this error message, it worked. So its working again.
But I have no recovery anymore is this normal?
UPDATE. Seems after JM6 I have no recovery and no bootanimation(have sound). I get a black screen with a thin vertical line on the right side of the screen. Any advice would be great
The phone --!-- computer problem is solvable.
Power off your phone, and power it back on with holding the volume down button, when you see the --!-- sign release the buttons.
You are now in download mode, although you cant see the little android with the shovel. Connect it to a pc with an odin 1.7 open and you will be able to reflash it.
When I got the error picture: "phone ----- !-----PC" after messing with JM6, I just reflashed it at that screen with the full JM6 package. I dont think you can downgrade from JM6...
I just flash pit file at the phone ----- !-----PC screen then when it reboots it will boot loop. Turn it off then hold vol down and power then when the screen turns on let go of power button but still hold vol down. That will get you in download mode. You can downgrade form JM6 but you have to try 3 to 6 times before it will work. JM6 to jj4 then at&t rom is how I do it.

Cmon guys, read the thread. I got the error fixed, now I have no recovery or boot animation.
Does the tab boot up at all? if it does you can try and do a factory reset from settings and see if that clears it up. You will loose all your settings and third party apps but this seems to be a requirement after flashing

Tab boots up fine, everything works, I just have no recovery or bootanimation, the sound plays for the bootani, just no picture.

You need to tell us what filename you flashed and what .pit file if any you partitioned with.
It sounds like you flashed P1000OXAJM6.tar without partitioning which is probably not going to work.
Never put the phone into download mode unless you have a file ready to flash.
Flashing the file in my sig will probably fix your Tab.

I followed the instructions in the OP of the JM6 thread, and flashed the files that I was linked to in the OP. I checked the box to partition. After I flashed the bell modem as I am on At&t. Then I rooted via SuperoneClickv1.5.5.
Now I have no recovery or boot animation.
I was already d/ling your file to check if that fixes anything.
Ok I tried your(rotohammer) file, and still no luck, it did save me from the root proccess tho.
adb reboot recovery, and adb devices will show the device is in recovery, but I have a backlit screen with a thin line down the right side of it. Which is the same thing I see during boot, after the at&t image.
At startup I will see this screen untill I press the lock button twice, first time shuts the screen off, and second unlocks as normal.

I find my newly purchased tab 8.9 very laggy with the stock TouchWiz
Before returning it I wanted ti try the Overcome rom to see if it can get any smoother.
I carefully followed there instructions but I am unable to go past the downloading droid. once I validate with the right button volume, the tablet simply reboots.
Does anyone else have this issue?

Let me get this right: you sucessfully flashed Overcome, and want to ODIN but when you try to get in Download Mode, it reboots, is that it? If so, that's the first time I've heard this issue. How are you trying to enter Download Mode?

I see. The Overcome thread also has the CWM Recovery as a .zip file which is flashable through Stock Recovery (same procedure as flashing Root). You just put the file in your internal SDcard and flash away. If you still have doubts, read a little bit here, as I'm sure that will clear any doubts you might have.

Don't expect perfection from a port, ever (port = a ROM that's not native to the device). The motley kernel, along with UV can help you in the battery department.

My system right now is a stock ROM us retail P7310UEKHA flashed with CWM and CWM and I want to install a 3.2 stock ROM using ODIN.
The way I try to access the download menu is
1. Turn off the tab
2. wait 30 sec
3. restart with the down volume pressed
4. when the reaching the menu between recovery and dowloading. Select dowloading with the down volume button and validate with the up volume button.
Result: a black screen for 3 seconds and then the tab reboots

Thanks lupu666ro. I've tried installing stock Rom with CMW but nothing works. I have found very sparse info about nvflash. It looks like the solution but I'm a bit wary about tring this without a instructions. Could give me more info or point me to a tutorial
Thanks!
Still no luck...
So I have tried reflashing the stock US retail ROM and ran the EULA3 OTA update over it. I can't seem to figure this out.
The OTA update entered the download mode for a few seconds during the update so I am wondering if I don't simply have a locked bootloader.
I have made a video to show the problem: http://youtu.be/b09-x31ldbs

Hello everyone,
The situation is more or less this one: my phone stopped to work since the Lollipop has installed on it automatically, I allowed that update of course. Since then became very unstable, till start looping constantly...
FYI: Bought the phone in US but I'm living in Portugal, so Samsung over here didn't gave me any support due to warranty restrictions.
So I tried to solve the issue by myself and completely messed up with the phone.
I downloaded the Firmware version: I9295XXUDOD3_I9295OXXDOD1_I9295XXUDOD3_HOME.tar.md5
Model GT-I9295
Model name GALAXY S4 Active
Country Portugal (TPH)
Version Android 5.0.1
Changelist 4556221
Build date Thu, 16 Apr 2015 07:43:33 +0000
Product code TPH
PDA I9295XXUDOD3
CSC I9295OXXDOD1
Followed all the instructions:
Extract (unzip) the firmware file
Download Odin v3.10.6
Extract Odin ZIP file
Open Odin v.3.10.6
Reboot Phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
Add the firmware file to AP / PDA
Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
Click the start button, sit back and wait few minutes.
The Odin is showing green "Pass", after 07' and 18'' of installation process.
But the phone simply reboots at the end and shows on the screen (on blue) RECOVERY BOOTING and nothing else happens.
Just freezes there...
I've tried to press and hold Home + Power + Volume Up buttons, and stays always on the same.
Tried several attempts to "flash the Rom", and something went very wrong, failed on Odin, etc... I know that I'm completely out of my league!
So, what can I do now to recover it? Is there a way or the phone is permanently lost?
Thank you so much for your help guys!
Rui
First question, you mentioned that you bought the phone in the US. Did you purchase the AT&T model i537, or international model i9295? Since you can't boot your phone you can check which model underneath the battery, or if you have the AT&T version there will be an AT&T logo on the back cover.
I think is the "international model".

At least it is not the AT&T version, cause there isn't any logo on it. Here is its ID data:

download mode still working? if yes try to flash 442
you flashed 501 over 422?
If I fully understand what you are meaning, I think I can say I've flashed 501 over 501 already.
The phone was already with Lollipop. It upgraded it via OTA as I'm saying initially. As the phone stooped to work, I've downloaded the Android 501 - Firmware version: I9295XXUDOD3_I9295OXXDOD1_I9295XXUDOD3_HOME.tar.md 5 and the situation now is as the one previously described.

The web page shows "404 Not Found".
But, should be in a Zip like this one with the necessary files to a complete process:
At least on the page instructions of androidbiits.com it's mentioned about several files to choose with Odin:
a ".tar.md5" file plus a "modem" file plus a "csc" file + a ".pit" file.
Any suggestion to find an alternative?

Firstly, I would recommend to use Odin 3.7 or 3.9. You can get the firmware from sammobile.com/firmware, put the device name and select the one for your region.
I would recommend a clean install with factory reset.
He can't make factory reset. Phone is stuck in recovery starting.
I decided to create this thread for the many who have attempted to downgrade their AT&T Samsung Galaxy S5[and failed]. The many videos and threads that claim the 100% success rate for downgrading all models of the S5 are terribly mistaken.
In the link I'm providing four files to help all, from noobs to intermediate to maybe even advanced users.
*I am not a developer just someone who was persistent enough to have scavenged for these files and figure out the order to use
Steps:
1. Download all files and place under one directory. (make a new folder for these files to be placed in, make them easy to find.)
2. Run Samsung_USB_Driver_for_Moblie_Phones_v1_4_6_0
3. Unzip Odin3_v3.10.7
4. In Odin3_v3.10.7 folder run Odin3_v3.10.7.exe
5. In Odin select options tab and double check the default of Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time (These should be the only selected)
6. In Odin click AP and navigate to G900A_OC4_Stock_Partitions.tar and open (wait 10-30 seconds for Odin to respond and load)
7. Boot phone into Odin download mode (Press Volume down + home + power on) [for convenient reboot take back panel off and dis->re connect battery]
8. Plug in phone. Under ID:COM it should be blue this means the drivers are properly installed and cable is a sync data cable.(Not charge only)
9. Press start. Wait for PASS to show. Press reset. Unplug phone.
10. Phone will reboot to Samsung powered by android logo. (You've won the first battle)
11. Reboot into Odin download. (Take out battery, shove back in with button combo)
12. Unzip G900A_5.1.1_Fix
13. Plug phone back in and flash under AP the files in order, resetting phone into download mode each time. (boot, modem, NON, recovery)
On final boot put back panel back on and wait on the at&t symbol for 2-3 minutes.
I hope this thread is easily found and my instructions are clear enough that I help all who have had my same problem I've fretted over the past 2 days.

DOes this work for unrooted too?
I just got an AT&T s5 came with 5.1.1. and out of the blue it started bootlooping. Could not get into recovery but could get into download mode.
Just found this thread was going to try but now seems to boot. Not sure what happened. I did several battery pulls.
In any case good to know if this works in case it happens again.
Any idea why I would boot loop? Did nothing to the phone other than disable some system apps. But did not try to flash anything

Yes, this method can be used on unrooted s5. I can say this with 100% certainty because mine wasn't rooted.

The next steps are if part of the boot process was overwritten by trying to downgrade. This would happen if part of the downgrade flash in Odin was successful.

After too many hours of trying to find a downloadable AT&T Android 5.x version as someone suggested, I came across this post. Thank you again. Once you go through this procedure try going into stock recovery, (same button combo only vol up instead of down) then clear cache and/or factory reset. Then redo the second half(5.1.1 stock partition tar flash)
Looks like this should become a sticky for all us AT&T SM-G900A's stuck around 5.1.1.
I will do this process in the next day or so. I assume no PIT file is needed?
I ready to do this. unlocked and rooted all my phones but this one over the years. . .
QUESTION: I purchased this at 5.1.1 C015 upgrade. Does this method helped attaining root (not mentioned anywhere), or just flashing 5.1.1 stock again? I dont need a flash a ROM already working, although still containing bloatware and major battery drain.

what should i do next ???
so i recently got a note 3 from a friend to fix for her. it boots to the samsung logo then vibrates and reboots over and over, recovery just says "booting recovery" then it goes blank and reboots to the same booting recovery screen, shes doesnt know what version it had prior to bricking. she said one day it was working then turned off and never back on again, the odin mode screen had a2, a3 on it ill post a pic later anyway i can get into download mode so i figured id just flash with odin and be good, i tried to narrow down the proper firmware with the a3, but after flashing nc2, nl1, oc1, im still stuck odin says everything passed, i tried flashing the big main file, tried flashing them in each box at the same time, even tried it with the pit file, tried flashing with odin 3.9 and 3.10.7. same result odin says passed still cant access recovery or os. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks
Open Odin, uncheck everything except f reset time, flash rom. When you see reset on the statutes window, remove USB cable from the phone, remove battery, wait 5 seconds, replace battery, boot directly into recovery, perform a factory wipe, reboot.
does it matter what version i flash? since im not really sure what version it had prior?
I can't figure out how to upload a photo I have xda 4.0, and can't post outside links yet. Anyway

Ran Odin again with the settings you said, after the battery pull the phone says recovery booting, then turned off vibrated twice then same screen again and again. Thanks for the suggestion though any our ideas? I was searching and thought I seen somewhere that to unbrick it it needs to be the same firmware it had before, but I don't know what that was.

She doesn't know, not very phone literate as far as software, any ideas? I read in another thread to flash a modified version of nc2 but can't seem to find that version, this is the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2703006
