Is it the customer also bought banner? Try going into devices > manage device > click unsubscribe. If this does not work, we can use something else. There are two sets of annoying ads. One can be disable n the tablet.

Are you running adfree or another ad-blocker?
I'd look at the Play Store for the apps you've installed. Look at the one-star reviews and see who *****ing about ads in the app.

You won't find one in the Play Store; Google did a "house cleaning" and pulled all of the ad blockers.
I'd recommend adfree at:
http://adfree.bigtincan.com/index.php
You'll have to manually install it, copying it to /system/apps, and ensure the permissions are set to 644 (rw, r, r).

i just tried two ad detectors(appbrain ad detector and trustgo ad detector) but they couldn't find any..
i'll look into your adfree app, thanks!
This annoying ads come from apps downloaded from untrusted sites or cracked apps, most of them are adware who pretend to offers you free apps when it really are virus.

"WeChat" pre-installed on my HTC One. Not able to delete it? How?

Hey guys. Wechat is pre-installed on my phone and im not able to delete it? How is this possible? I have attached two screen shots, please check them out.
Thanks!
hi, seems to be a system application, so it can't be simply deleted.
you need to get root, then you can download the app "titanium backup". with this app and root access you can delete every app you want to..

Hey, thanks for the reply. But is wechat supposed to be a system application?
honestly i've never seen it before, but the preinstalled apps depend also from your region and your provider.. maybe you have a branding too..

I purchased it unlocked, we don't have any branding here in India. And even I have never seen such apps, pre-installed. It seems to be something fishy. Also it has permission's to almost everything.
WeChat is the most used chat application in China. All my chinese friends are using it, so it shoudn't be that harmful.

likely nothing fishy going on other than htc getting paid to have it loaded at factory for your region. it's like some of the appls i can't uninstall for t-mobile usa without root so i do is disable them under the apps list whenever possible.
I held down the WeChat icon in App Drawer and dragged to Uninstall which comes at top. Voila!! It was gone. Try this way. Worked for me.

Help: Apps not appearing in app drawer.

Yesterday at some point all of my apps (except two) disappeared from my app drawer. Now only the ones that i've downloaded or updated are shown. Although if I look at my apps through the edge app, I can still see they are all there. Does anyone know what the problem is?

P.S. Using Google Launcher if that helps.
I had this problem today. I tried multiple things....but it turned out to be my secure folder I had set up. I deleted my secure folder and all my apps showed up in the app drawer again. Read online that Knox and google now launcher aren't compatible for some reason.

Malware/Antivirus Help

I wanted to know if you guys know any apks for malware or antivirus. I have been getting a lot of pop ups. I installed kapersky and malware bytes but they both do anything.
pop ups when browsing and or apps? Most likely you'll need ad blocking software and or browser extension.

It seems to be ad pop ups. I would be using an app such as whatsapp or watching a video through my gallery and the add just pops up out nowhere. it has never done that before.
If you get apps from places that are not "trusted sources" many of them have these pop up ads.
Go through and we which apps have Device Admin, Accessibility, and Draw Over Other Apps permissions
Are you using stock Gallery or another app?
Sent from my SM-N960U1 using XDA Labs
Personally, I do not use any antivirus on my phone. I tried some of them before but finally gave up due to the large consumption to the phone memory which results into a slowdown of system and a faster drain of power. Plus, the major drawbacks of these free AV, like Avira, Kapersky, Bitdefender and more in Top 5 Free Antivirus in 2018, are the ads and popups bundled with them. They keep sending annoying ads and pop-ups during running, and even worse, sometimes they downloaded and installed things automatically.
Thus, if you download apps from playstore, surf the safe websites and connect to a clean outside device, do not bother to install a AV on your phone.

It's one of your apps... You'll have to go through the ones you installed recently and uninstall the culprit.

so l read this thread awhile back and thought nothing of it ............ until now!
I have "developed" the same Issue! and yes Its definitely an app that has access to "appear on top" and its under Apps> special Access> apps that can appear on top! Now for me to identify the culprit......? only issue though is if you have this issue your most likely the kind of user who experiments and installs several apps at once.... so here goes my trial by elimination process?
Hi had this problem.
I deleted the free APK that I had installed but I was still getting pop ups.
You need to go to settings / apps and right at the end of the list there was a app with no name or app logo.
Deleted it, problem solved.
I tried virus scan apps and nothing found it.
Hope this helps

Thanks for the advice! I deleted all the apps I installed in the past week and still no success until your post! Issue was starting to really bug me cos I kinda hate the idea that I dont have control over a device I paid for....lol
For anyone in the same position, see attached images if it helps and yes I installed a dodgy APK editor which i deleted but didn't notice this culprit App in the app list!

Yeah that's exactly what I saw on my list.
No AV will block an ad. They block known, to them, malware apks. Use something like Addons Detector from G Play store and/or Nice catch from S Galaxy store to list all the apks that have ads modules and then remove those you installed last or don't recognise or need.
Run Malwarebytes.

Question [SOLVED] Google Account Syncing not working using Mobile Data

Hey folks,
just got my X60 Pro+ from china. This is a really nice device, really like it so far.
But I'm having trouble when setting up my Google Account, I can't seem to sync them using mobile data. Turning my WiFi on, it syncs my EMails automatically and so on. I really searched the entire Settings library and this weird iManager app, but I can't find any Data restrictions whatsoever. It doesn't even let me sync it manually in the "Accounts and Syncronisation" settings menu, only with my WiFi.
Does anyone know how to fix this? I really searched everything and everywhere.
Greetings
Update 23.04.2021 : Vivo has fixed the Sync issue with an Update. Updating Google Webview and other Google Apps is also helpful, if the problem might still exist.
I do believe it's related to the Vivo.com app, you need to use script in order to remove it
I had X50 Pro Plus and faced the same issue.

Thanks. Just removed a couple of Apps, also your named Vivo.com App, but it unfortunately didn't fix my issue.

It's com.vivo.pem to uninstall on x50 pro plus forum. There are positive feedback about it. Not in my case
Yeah right, I also did that but no success. I've sent an EMail to Vivo Support, lets See.
My guess is, there is the "WiFi Only" toggle switch "missing" in the "Account & Sync" Settings tab.
Hello, It has been one day I'm fighting with my X60 pro plus : I can have my mail on outlook, but they are not syncing correctly. I think it can be the same issue as this thread.
I'll update here If I find a solution. Thank you.

Try to do a network data reset. I made it from the settings and notifications push seems to work now
Edit: after a while not working again

My Spotify also says that I'm offline (with 4g). I have chinese version. Smth tells me same problem involved. Also Chrome has "no internet connection" at the top of the screen, but still loads webpages

Any chance I can use Chrome as default? I hate this chinese default browser, opening all links. And thanks for the solution, I'll try that
Settings > Applications and Permissions > Permissions Management > switch to Permissions Tab in the top right and then scroll all the way down to "Default App Settings"
There you go.

I'm sorry for you but I'm happy to read this. I have x60 pro China and by last Saturday, 10th April, with a new spotify update it doesn't work anymore with 4g, instead works well with wlan network. Have you solve it? Now I try to look for it in vivo store.
hello, this problem might becaused by the default dns server from China, please use dns changer app to fix this problem.
using dns changer to change dns to google dns will solve this problem
It worked, yes! But having an extra App for this is kinda weird. I hope there will be a permanent solution for this.

It works for my Chrome browser ("No Internet Connection" tab no longer appears), but my Spotify is still saying that there's no internet connection even though my mobile data is working just fine

Auto-Answer :
I finaly get it working, but I don't know exactly how because I did a lot of action :
- uninstalled vivo apps via dev usb
- granted all permission possible to Outlook
- disabled smart notification
- changed the default system sound
- updated everything I found.
I don't know what was the problem, because it was really not syncing : mails was appearing only when opening the apps and waited for few sec to sync.
Hope it helps.
