I got stuck in a bootloop today, could only get so far with adb, what I done to get outta boot loop was: (links included)
folloowing the below should get u back up and running
Vomers guide covers most things you require (change s-off,recovery, cid ect, ect)
1) install latest twrp following vomers guide
2) went into RUU (followed Vomer's guide from SECTION 3)
3)went here (htc1guru.com) downloaded the exe VERSION, with phone plugged in and in ruu mode ran the exe installer, - installed the rom - easy - push a few keys, set phone up then
4) downloaded HTC_One_-MaximusHD_30.0.0 and installed that through recovery( or any rom you like)
now im back up and running
Hope this helps - I was almost going back to the shop - with a bricked phone lol - now im happy
hit the thanks button if ive helped
Im not very active in these parts of the forum, so if you struggle pm me or post back here for help

U need to flash a boot from the rum.zip
Unzip rum put the boot.IMG to fastboot dir.
Open cmd go to fastboot dir by tipping cd \fastboot . now u need to be in fastboot usb(hold volume down +power button)
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Than flash rum in recovery don't forget Google apps too if they are not included
Good luck

Can i recover it?
Please help...
Hey came across this on under the "latest" tab, I don't have the same device as you, so my advice could be way off base. but if you can get into recovery mode then you're fine, just do a data wipe/factory reset in recovery mode. If that doesn't work, flash a new rom. This is assuming you have root and a custom recovery.

How can i flash a new rom? where can i get it? I can not get to recovery mode
I'm afraid you may be out of luck. Unless someone more familiar with your device has better advice. Knowing what I know about android, it appears you've "hard bricked" your phone, and there may not be a possibility of recovery.

Did you unlock the bootloader at the HTCdev website? If so you need to relock it in fastboot (type fastboot oem lock ... I think its that, someone correct me if I'm wrong) and install one of the stock roms from the link a couple of posts up.
DO NOT try to install a stock rom with the bootloader unlocked!!!!!
If you didn't unlock the bootloader, thats where the problem is, install a stock rom and then go to HTCdev.com to unlock the bootloader, once that is done you can then root and install capys rom
Vertigo:
Yep, i reloked phone from
fastboot with command
fastboot oem relock
Then i have installed official ROM (exe)
And thats it.
It was so easy... I have spent about 10-12 hour with my pc and phone to made that solution....
I AM HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Umm, just in case
In such situation you don't need to wipe everything and flash a new rom...
just push original font back to the fonts folder via adb and that's it...

Hi,
Try the following:
1. Download adb tools. (www.filesonic.com/file/1774628264)
2. On your pc click on your local disk C: Drive (or D: drive for some) (WINDOWS users: Start > My computer > Local Disk (C)
3. Create a new folder called "adb" and extract the files from adb.zip into it. Make sure it doesn't create another folder in the adb folder when extracting
4. open command prompt (or terminal for linux) and type "cd" "followed by the path to your adb folder" (windows users can type "cd C:\adb")
5. Don't forget to enable the "usb debugging" when you connect it by the USB.
6. Enter in the command prompt screen the following:
adb devices
adb reboot-bootloader
fastboot getvar cid
7. If your mobile is from Europe, it will give you: HTC__001.
8. You can search the net for other codes and accordingly, download the suitable RUU file. If you are unlucky like me, your mobile will show "HTC__038" .
Good luck.

Help, I need somebody! (Serious problems restoring original firmware)

Hey guys,
I'm really sorry to bother everyone but I just spent 10 hours straight trying to get my HTC One back to its original state.
I'm really frustrated as I have tried 15 different tutorials and have about 1 million tabs open right now.
- I tried the whole re-locking thing and tried flashing a RUU (tried so many different ones but always some signature error. And with exe's I should get the right utility because it's the wrong bootloader). I don't even know what's the right one. Here's the getvar version-main I get: 1.29.401.12
- I somehow wiped everything and can't even get my phone as an external flash drive.
- I read I should have S Off whatever that is, but for that I needed to re-flash a rom. I can't even get that to work anymore. I tried to sideload it. It worked...but there's nothing on the phone except an ever turning cyanogenmod wheel.
- I took a pic of my bootloader screen, maybe you guys can decipher what there's to be done.

Okay, your hboot is 1.44 (April 2013), so you should be able to achieve S-Off using revone.
can you please post a "fastboot getvar all" (remove IMEI and serialno), and confirm your bootloader is unlocked

Sorry for having to rewind a little, but can you let me know your goal?
1- hboot -> OK
2- getvar -> OK
3- you can achieve S-Off using revone with a Sense 5 / Android 4.1.2 based ROM
I need to go now, and may not be back till Saturday, in the meantime, if you need to get you phone up & running just use: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_1-29-401-13-zip/ (unselect "stock recovery" during installer) or any other custom ROM out there.
If you think I've helped, hit the thanks button,

Ah I think I know what your problem is ... 1.29.401.12 doesnt have a full RUU file anywhere ... can u tell me the filename you tried running (RUU exe?) ..
So what you need is ...
1. TWRP/CWM Recovery installed and working
2. TWRP/CWM Backup ROM file for 1.29.401.12
I could only google and find CWM backup for your ROM so you need to flash CWM recovery first (I assume you know how)
Download your ROM backup from here -> http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/m7-cwm-nandroid-backup-cid-htc__102-1-29-401-12-2013-05-16-zip/
adb push this to your sdcard and use restore option from CWM... also best if you wipe data/factory reset first since you had CM on it

No need to relock
i don't know how adb push works. i tried following a tutorial but it says to mount sdcard which i don't have. i only have system, data and cache.
i then re-locked, then tried to flash via fastboot oem reboot and flash zip.
that didn't work because of "signature verify fail".
i'd love to try adb push, if you could be so nice to tell me how i'd have to proceed.
It would be easier if you download a Custom ROM and then in CWM choose Install -> Sideload
And then from PC , adb sideload yourfile.zip
This should load the Custom ROM ... it will be easier to transfer and manage the nandroid backup files once the OS is loaded

yes i tried that but it does not work. and i don't get why.
1. i sideloaded a cm stable file.
2. the file had been renamed sideload.zip
3. i started the install and it said successful.
4. when i boot the phone, the cm wheel turns and turns infinitely.
5. i tried a different rom (infection), it said succesful install, i re-booted but that darned cm wheel was still there turning and turning thinking "you like that huh?"
If you have nothing to save on sdcard , this is what I would do ...
1. Wipe System
2. Wipe Cache
3. Wipe Data
4. Wipe INternal Storage
And CWM Sideload should start the flashing immediately after transferring the zip file unless u r doing it some wrong way

I have the rooted GPE.
I followed the steps in a YouTube video which I can't link because I'm too new (/watch?v=WEouT7eV8UA), up unto where it says failed. I did what the video said and tried again, but all I got was "FAILED (remote: 41 model id check fail)" over and over.

Gonna need to change your CID again. I would say change it to 11111111.
Thread is HERE ==> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2729173
Use the one labeled Sprint_HTC_One_M8_3.30.651.2_RUU.zip
They provide great instructions in the OP.
Once you RUU back to sense, if you want best of both worlds, flash CaptainThrowback's TWRP from here http://themikmik.com/showthread.php...WRP-Recovery-v2-8-1-standard-TWRP-(exFAT-test)
Then flash his kernel http://themikmik.com/showthread.php...-M8-VARIANTS-BeyondStockᵀᴹ-v2-1-0
Then go to MultiROM thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/development/multirom-v28-unofficial-port-t2884413
And you can add in a GPE ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2762336 on page 103 or 104, he posts a GPE Lollipop that has working data, etc) to your setup and have it to where you can boot into either Sense or GPE when you power on your device.

2 questions now.

1. No, to get an OTA you have to be on stock android with stock recovery. Lollipop is being released for GPe devices (GPe is only for GSM carriers. Sprint is not a GSM carrier) this week. There will be ports but it won't be the official Lollipop update. The Lollipop OTA for Sprint devices will come later on.
2. If you're talking about a recovery.img, follow the steps below.
Step 1 - First install ADB & Fastboot using @Snoop05's installer - Click Here (SKIP If you already have ADB/Fastboot accesss on your computer).
Step 2 - Download the latest TWRP recovery for the Sprint M8 from Here
Step 3 - If you're on Windows, navigate to where the location of the downloaded custom recovery and rename it to recovery.img
Step 4 - Wherever the download is located, Left click an empty space then inside the folder, hold Shift + Right click and click on "Open command window here" and minimize the command prompt
Step 5 - Put your phone into Fastboot mode. Turn it off, hold the Power + Volume Down button. Once the bootloader screen turns on, use the volume keys to navigate to "FASTBOOT" and press the power button.
Step 6 -Connect your phone to the computer and on the phone, it should say "Fastboot USB"
Step 7 - Open up the command prompt again and type in: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Step 8 - You now have a custom recovery.

[Q] Stock ROM

I've been trying to modify my HTC Desire 510 phone recently, but when I was doing so, I was honestly operating under the assumption that my phone is the 610 (school is really messing with my brain.) Anyways, I've unlocked the bootloader, but something was wiped out so that now whenever I choose to reboot, it goes into fastbook mode (this happens whether I select recovery or reboot. Thus, I'm thinking that I knocked out the ROM. Would I be correct in that assumption?) Anyways, if I am, is there anyone who has a copy of the stock ROM for the HTC Desire 510 that I could get to restore my phone back to operating condition?

Ill pull the stock system and post a download link. Just give me a second. Your gonna need to reboot to fastboot and flash the recovery in the forums for the 510 first before restoring it. Just look in the q/a section.

Thanks! I really appreciate it!
I found the thread that talked about installing TWRP, so I downloaded that .img file and will flash it when I get home (am at school right now.) Once that is done, all I need is the stock ROM to get my phone back to functioning order until someone comes out with a custom ROM, correct?
Again, thanks for the help!

Will do. Not to pressure you at all (cause I know you're doing me a HUGE favor by uploading it), but when we're you planning on posting the link for the ROM? Again, no rush.

i just did a little something like this, i unlocked my device, went to flash the recovery BUT i put "fastboot flash boot" instead of "fastboot flash recovery" . sigh now im stuck in recovery forever lol, hopefully someone can help us.
Go back to fastboot and reflash it to the recovery partition. Then wait for someone to post up a boot.img. maybe when someone posts a stock rom ill flash it and dump a boot.img for you
I just dumped mine a few minutes ago actually. Not sure if it helps.

Unrar the folder and copy it in the backup path it's something like /sdcard/TWRP/BACKUP/yourserialdevice/... after this restore using TWRP restore.

Easy way is to go into TWRP Backup and just backup boot
then reboot your phone and from the PC go to sdcard/TWRP/BACKUPS/yourserialnumber/yourBackup
unrar the file you downloaded to the same location as yourBackup
Now return to TWRP / Restore and you should see 2 backups / Yours and Mine (2014-12-02--16-24-34 KOT49H Stock.not.rooted)

you'll need to post the output of "fastboot getvar all" (dont post your imei/sn) so we can tell you how to update. The version shown in your picture isn't necessarily the same version you'll find in bootloader.
And may I add - it would be better if you took a picture of bootloader screen. That way we could have better idea of phone's state. Is the bootloader unlocked, real firmware version, s-on or s-off...
Hi guys, today i managed to get the needed info. Please see the attached pictures. PS; why is the CID 1111111? Does that mean that the phone has been rooted? And s-off?
Thank you guys in advance.

Your phone was messed with. Great thing it's s-off. Someone flashed a new h-boot over old firmware, that's why you can't receive updates.

Take a look at this thread, download 7.19.401.1 RUU.zip, and flash it, you have all instructions on the thread. That will update your phone to Lollipop

Do i need to flash the combined or the full stock? I think full stock because i cant understand how a zip of 40MB can flash a new firmware, or im wrong?
So sorry for this noob questions, im used to Samsung where i just need to flash 1 file:silly::silly:

Full stock will give you a fully stock Android, but it will wipe everything from your phone, so you might want to back up your files before doing anything. I always flash full stock, just to be on the safe side. And there's no need to apologize, better to ask if you'rr not sure than ruin your phone, right? [emoji6]

Yeah you are right, normally i don't ask so many questions. I just flash the phone ans see what it will bring me to.
But this is not my phone, it's my brothers in law phone.
Last question, i hope, i read that after flashing full stock zip i need to flash rom, kernel and recovery and that phone wont boot up after the flash. It needs a rom flash.
So what should i do? I'm a bit confused, there is so much information and so many files..

No. Full stock will flash everything. If you have doubts I can send you my old KitKat RUU. You will be able to take updates with it, but it takes over an hour to get all updates. It's your call [emoji4]

You need to do it via HTC fastboot
donkeykong1 said:
You need to flash it in RUU mode. Issue the next command "fastboot oem rebootRUU" without quotation marks obviously. That will put your phone in RUU mode ( black screen with silver HTC logo ). Then fastboot flash zip

Yes i did that, first command was fastboot oem rebootRUU. I tried to open the zip but my pc said it was no possible. Im downloading the zip again. I will try it again in 15min.

Then you definetly need to flash via HTC fastboot. I don't have it, so maybe @alray could help
@donkeykong1
I dont know how but i managed to update the phone.
I downloaded the fastboot of htc site and installed htc sync. Then i pluged the phone in with and without development modus on to instal drivers.
After this i pluged the phone back on in fastboot mode and flashed the zip of 1.6GB. It started right away and installed the android 5.0.2.
Working good till now, so thank you for your help.:sly:
