I am not able to find the stay awake option in this custom rom. I really like the look of this rom but I use my phone as a clock both on my night stand and in my car. Am I just overlooking it or is it actually gone?

Its missing out of most 2.2.1 ROMs.
Download "battery booster" app from market. U can set it to whatever u want in it.
found this thread when searching for the same problem. the "stay awake" option is gone in stock rom, too, so it has nothing to do with custom roms. i think it's gone since 2.2 version.
the suggested "battery booster" app isn't quite the same, because it also keeps the screen on when not charging, and you will always have to manually toggle it off and on, which always needs severals touches to do.
i have found StayAwake (by runks) which offers a "Stay awake if plugged" option, which should resemble the behavior of the original "Stay awake" setting earlier android versions have. so far it works, but it's not the first app i am trying - the last one worked for a while but then after some hours the screen suddenly turned off despite being plugged. hope this one will work better.

Just flashed back to stock JF6 no more than 3 hours ago and it still had the stay awake option... Maybe you have a different "stock" that you're talking about?
I've tried relentlessly to find a way to keep the screen on while charging, to practically no avail.
I ended up installing an app called "Stay Awake", which worked in theory, however, after 5 seconds the screen adjusts to the dimmest setting which is nearly impossible to read unless you are in a dark room.
Without that app running nothing else works to keep the screen on during charging.
Anyone solved this issue yet?
Thanks
Why do you want to keep it on? There are some clock apps that i think do this. But not 100% on that.

I use it to stream music to my car stereo using Winamp. Its aggravating to have to turn the screen back on everytime I want to change the song/station.

What I described above is what happens with auto brightness off. After 5 or 6 seconds the screen dims, but stays on, which is fine at night, but during the day its unreadable.

You need a car dock app then. Dashdroid used to do it. Been years since i used one. But check out dock apps.
I recently came across a setting in Settings/Developer options/Stay awake. Perhaps that would do the trick

Did you enable the Developer settings by tapping repeatedly on the build number in settings? I have the setting on my Note 3. Or do you mean it doesn't really do the trick? Sorry lol

Try Screen Timeout Toggle. Great little app that worked for me when I needed this feature while on my Note 2.

The setting is under the developer options screen. (If you don't have developer options enabled go to settings->about device and tap on build number about 10 times. (half way thru tapping you'll see a pop up telling you how many taps are left))

1: Sleep Mode
First thing I noticed was that sleep mode might work well, but there needs to be a setting to lock the screen while sleeping! I woke up and called 2 people, rearranged my home page, and deleted a few icons! Not sure how I was able to do this in my sleep, but more need to lock the screen! I solved this issue by turning off gesture wakeup.
2: Indoor workouts
How do they not have the ability to track indoor workouts such as spinning or general fitness? I was hoping by getting the Neo that devs could write their own fitness apps that fix Samsung's issues. Turns out Samsung isn't opening the SDK to developers for this! My solution has been to only track heart rate using the running app, but my calories don't get tracked.
3: Took it out for a 20 mile bike ride, the screen would constantly show me going 89mi/h... I mean I might have been going 19mph but 89?!? It wasn't just once, it was the entire time. The summary page showed accurate results but not live...

how were you able to get the speed to show on the watch ?
You can turn the screen off by going into the Display settings. Annoying? Yes, but that's the only way. Maybe Samsung will release updates and/or devs will come up with a better one.
Where is the sleep mode option?

Also went on a bike ride and my speed fluctuated up to 60 mph... I did track the distance in addition to having runkeeper on at the same time on the phone and the distance readings are correct. Just have to get this speed thing figured out. When I completed the work out, it did show my max speed as 23 mph, so that part of the tracking seemed to work out fine.

You have to be updated to the latest rom.
The latest software version should be ND8. If it is not, then you can manually update the rom by loading Kies3 from Samsung and connect the Neo. (there is a thread somewhere in this Neo Forum that explains!)
Kies will detect the software update and push it through to the watch. My update stalled the first time, and I had to repeat. But after that I had the sleep app in my apps drawer.
Good Luck:good:

im not using a samsung phone, i suppose thats why i cant see it
just download kies3, put the watch to pc via USB, install the driver and you'll get notification that the firmware is avaiable.
I totaly agree for sleep mode and turning off the display.
And we need ALARM witch is stand alone in the watch it self. I mean it's a smart watch and no alarm... WTF

Are you referring to running the sleep app?? If so, there's an option called blocking mode that turns off gestures as well as notifications while the sleep app is tracking your sleep. I use it every night and have had no problems with it at all.

Really? It didn't say
It turns off gestures. I'll have to try that then. Although I would still want phone calls. It just needs more customization I guess.

1. For sleep mode there is an option in the sleep menu to enable blocking mode. Sleep function works independant so you can disconnect the BT connection.
2. I think this is an opportunity for exercise machien OEMs, think TechnoGYM, use NFC to sync such data, as opposed to their keys.
3. I suspect the fitness measurements (aside from HR) are not accurate.
Sleep mode works but they really should allow you to see the time when in sleep mode , you need to exit sleep mode to see if its time to get up

Correct. I use it most evenings.
They should add an option of a nag screen to remind you to turn off/on certain activity modes. IE- Still walking? if not, turn off pedometer. If it notices you're moving and pedometer is not on, ask you if you want to turn it on. Same goes for sleep sensor apps.

Also I have one gripe, I'm a flashoholic for phone roms. I have a Note 2. I find it very annoying that I have to wipe the Neo everytime I connect it to the phone with a new rom. Why can't it just keep the data on it? Messages etc not a problem, but sleep data, pedometer data and even clock and wallpaper all have to reset too.

Why do you need alarm???
You have to set alarm in your phone, gear 2 will indicate for you.
BTW I have a fav. free watch app, you can set alarm in this app on your gear 2.
This free watch app is LED Alarm, you can download it from your Samsung Apps...
I seem to be having an intermittent problem with notifications on my new Moto G, when using the device and a notification comes through everything works 100%, however I sleep the device by tapping the power button as you do, occasionally notifications will not come through and then I tap the power button and the phone buzzes and the notification light starts flashing like they just came through at that second (when the time on the notification shows as X minuets previous).
I can't seem to replicate this in any fashion, it seems completely random and effects all types of notification, Gmail, WhatsApp and also the Ringer from Android Device Manager.
The Ringer from Android Device Manager is where I first confirmed the problem, I was playing with the Android Device Manager locating my phone which was sleeping right next to me, it located it fine so I hit ring and it said 'successful' or words to that effect, but the device was not ringing at all, picked up the phone and woke it, it immediately started ringing. I tried it a 2nd time and the same thing happened again, the 3rd time it worked as designed.
I've tried restarting the phone and clearing the data of effected apps, but neither worked, a reset of the device is the next logical step but I would like to hear if anyone else has this problem or has any other solutions.
This is happening when the device is connected to WiFi (even while sleeping) with the mobile data either enabled or disabled, I have not tried what happens if WiFi is not turned on, because when I'm at home I want it to use WiFi.
TLDR: sometimes by random I don't get notifications until I manually wake the device when they did actually come through X minutes previous it just didn't tell me.
Try resetting it! I never had such a problem

I have keep WiFi on during sleep set to Always, and Avoid Poor Connections and WiFi Optimisation both ticked everything else is off, I've never used Motorola Assist.
I'll untick Avoid Poor Connections but I doubt it could be that as I have very good WiFi signal where I am.

OK when I find out that Avoid poor connections being unticked is not working (which I've just had a notification suggesting it isn't) I'll untick WiFi optimisation, I'm hesitant to untick it right now as it says it saves battery life.
OK new development I was listening to music on the phone (the phone is sleeping) the song ended but the next one didn't start, as soon as I tapped the power button the next song started.
I'm going to try resetting the phone as soon as I get chance, I just need to use a voucher in an app first as I'd loose it otherwise.
Double post
Reset the device today, my plan was to use the Recovery but none of the options would appear it would only display the Android laying down (even when pressing buttons), so instead used the Factory Reset option in the menu, only time will tell but fingers crossed it seems to be working OK now :fingers-crossed:

Yeah facing the same problem here
It's a bloody nightmare wish they would sort it
It's a long standing issue apparently, i didn't know this before I purchased it, something i cannot live with amongst other issues, the nice chap in Currys saw exactly what it was doing and put it down to a fault and happily refunded me, apparently it's a "Feature" from hwawei to optimise the battery every restart, go figure.
Also there isn't a quick toggle for auto brightness... Wtf???
P30 Pro 256gb Aurora Power
They seem to be very big on wanting to proove they can save battery life but at the expense of functionality, same kinda thing with the over agressive app power management which saves tons of battery but then you don't get any notifications lol
This auto brightness issue is really bugging me too, not to the extent of returning the phone but i would really like them to see this setting as a user option rather than them forcing it back to auto each reboot. at the end of the day if you wanted it left on auto brightness you would just leave it on yourself wouldn't you lol
Same here, joined the conversation just in case there's a fix and I don't notice.
Guyz all issues u need to contact huawei via HiCare.. xda won't help with the new phones.. anymore.. rooting is fading out and will eventually die..
