Hello everyone and hope you all have a good Christmas.
Sprints hd voice available on the htc one. I have been trying to determine if this is a software enhancement only available on the sense based roms from htc or could we get the same quality if i flashed cyanogenmod. Obviously they both use the same service and have lte.
Also is hd voice only available when you have an Lte connection? The other day i called my buddy who was at work to meet me for lunch.. i had full lte and he was in his office so he deff didnt have lte at all.. we both have the same service, he has a s3 and i have the htc one. let me just start by saying that the call quality was absolutely amazing... it was even better then when you voice call someone on wifi through gchat with headphones.
I love cm but i also love that call quality. so i guess my questions are... do you have to be on lte while you make the call to get the good quality or both parties for that matter cause in my case it was just me with lte, and second is it only for stock roms.
my initial thought would be yes it only for stock roms and with lte enabled.
Thank you very much!
edit! also is this radio depended too? i saw that the latest ota came with a new radio and in the change log it said they made enhancements to hd voice... are the enhancements in the new radio?
I would be curious to know as well.

anyone with the knowledge?
Wifi calling is black magic. I'm always stuck running stock ROMs because I depend so heavily on that feature (I wouldn't have to if Tmo had half way decent coverage) especially at home. I hope and pray for a day when someone brilliant will come along and figure it out, or I can afford getting screwed by At&t or Verizon for better service. Good Luck.
I guess no one has figured this one out yet as of todate. I am trying to put Wifi Calling on my Galaxy Note with an AvatarROM. I badly need this feature as I have a terrible reception at work.
If it is that critical, and you really want to run a custom ROM, then get a VoIP provider and set it up in your ROMs native VoIP calling section. Choose a provider that will allow you to specify the caller ID number. VoIP.ms is a good one that does that. Cheap too.
Edit: if it isn't clear, the caller id that you enter would be your cell number, and so nobody would know. Well except that call quality would be better.
Hi all,
Yesterday i have installed a stock Froyo ROM on my i9000 to check the calls recoding function.
I have notice that way that the WI-FI signal was stronger that on Gingerbread, ICS or Jelly Bean ROM-s, allot much stronger.
I was able to have a "good"reception in places that before was no WIFI signal from the same modem.
I have checked the straight whit WIFI Analyzer from the market to be sure that is not just a graphic misunderstand on signal icon on Froyo but the signal was better then my HTC Desire who beats the s*** out my Galaxy on signal straight from the first day with my Galaxy. The test was make it yesterday and today not just at one moment.
Way is this difference and why nobody has notice that till now, or i haven't find yet a topic whit this problem.
I think this is a problem by drivers, and maybe is like call recording function that works only on Froyo ROMS.
Has someone notice the week WIFI signal straight compare to other phones? Is someway to have the Froyo advantages, like WIFI straight and call records on newer ROMS?
Thanks and sorry for my english!
No I dont think so as foryo is sammy based and the ICS, JB are on source relased by google and the dev are trying to have it to the best they can.
If you want those features then I would say you stick with foryo/GB...
Ok, but even on Gingerbreed? I'm happy with my stock Gingerbreed with few mods...but Froyo....is to old.

I'm on froyo from almost a week. The wi-fi signal is great, the call record is working very good and the battery life is ok, over 24hours with Wi-fi on and 5 mail accounts sinking at 15 minutes. The froyo stability is over everything. No FC till now.
But i really miss the newest rom-s customization modes, and others improuvments, like Pdroid.
I'm waiting opinions from others users that downgrade to froyo after gingerbread, ICS, Jelly Bean (like me) for one of this two reasons: calls record function and a significant better Wi-fi signal.

Hi guys, was hoping for a little help here. I'm sure there are many HTC ONE users here from the UK, I'd like to know which radios are working best here in the UK, I'm currently on 3 Network, but have been experiencing poor mobile Internet signals recently and slow down load speed. HOPING that users of the HTC ONE in the UK could provide links to the best UK radio
i've been using the Google Edition radio and they all seem to be the same for me on Three. which one are you currently using?
I'm using the new GE radio and I think it's the best yet, here is a link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2342544
Currently using 4A.17.3250.14_10.39.1150.04L on O2.
What akes the GE Radio so good?

I was having problems with the signal on my phone while making and receiving calls with the radio that came with the latest update so I first flashed the radio from the GE 4.3 rom and noticed an improvement and signal problems so I then did the full conversion to GE rom and firmware.

Yeah Nexus, same for me - Ive tried around 4 radios so far and to be honest, I dont notice a great change in reception or speed in any of them, at the minute im on Google Edition 4.3 4A.18.3263.15_10.38h.1157.04L, which I believe is the latest GE Radio, but had hellish problems with internet last night in a low reception area ( 1 bar ), mobile internet was on/off - on/off constantly , but could make phone calls fine, anyway guys thanks to all of you for your input and it may be worth posting links in this thread in future, just to keep us uk users running on the best possible radio/
thanks added to all who posted, cheers guys
@ maxal, may have to try a full GE Conversion , but love ARHD so much lol
Not sure if this has been posted or perhaps if this can start a whole thread on 100% working custom roms.
This may come off as a bit of a rant, and i am no begger nor a complainer.. but I have reach my wits end. This isnt some newb who has just been in the scene, I have been around since the G nexus and never ran into so many problem then with this phone. I am so tired of getting updates that hose roms.. or roms that need 3-4 band aides before its even usable. Rom/developers that dont even test for the phone that they are releasing for leaving us dependent on the care of the developer to take the time to fix said issues.. CAF roms that constantly lose LTE connections. NON CAF builds where we are lucky if GPS works and doesnt reboot our phones. I mean come on. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. What does it take for us to just get something that works? Does this mean we HAVE to use stock roms to achieve this or is it safe to say, with all the revisions, models, updates, that the lg g2 has been and will always be a lemon.
What is YOUR opinion on this? No one else feel the same way as I?
It just seems like enough is enough. I cant think of the last custom rom that wasnt stock based that wasnt 100% working for lg g2.
Can anyone recommend some custom roms asop or other that WORK out of the box, no special flashing, no special permission, JUST WORKS?!
Thank you for your time.
I have used Xdabebb's rom and other rom's that are based on stock rom's, they work great, while I had issues with CM/AOSP. The stock rom's are good enough for daily use.
I agree wholeheartedly. It is downright daunting, all the different roms out there and they all seem to have some sort of bug or function that doesn't work. As ECrispy said, there are some that are "good enough", I noted that you said that, rather than "great" or "perfect" or "very good". Is there a rom out there that's a bug-free, no compromise, light weight rom that's better than stock? I have my qualms with stock, but but but, everything works.
Which is the most stable stock rom? I need to reflash mine as I have been running on an old rom for about a year. Any suggestions?
I would be running the cloudy g4 stock rom, for the camera benefits and the fact that its not completely ugly like G2 stock. Except no matter how much I mess with it I cannot get all the verizon networking to function properly.
I'm on and older JackpotClavin cm build, I've been on his builds for a while
I just want awesome battery, performance, and camera without losing Android Pay

This. Right. Here.
I believe this is the issue that that caused the VS980 support to be dropped from CM. The last commit was something along the lines of "let's pull builds until someone figures out the RIL problems". I have been unable to find a CAF rom that will consistently connect to LTE like a stock based rom. I'm currently running GalacticStryder's PA build for VS980, it will keep a data connection (unlike other roms that will lose connectivity when switching from LTE>3g or wifi>LTE). Unfortunately, it doesnt like to switch back to LTE after dropping to 3g in a timely fashion.
Im currently using a g5 ported rom for g2, stock. So far, loving it.

Can you please share the link to the ROM you are talking about?
Thanks.
I've been using CM13 for several days and one issue I had was the data not working. The automatic APN settings provided by CM upon connecting to the internet over the cell towers didn't work, so I simply deleted them all, manually input the APN values specific to my mobile provider (China Telecom) and then GSM+WCDMA as the preferred network type. You MUST know what network type and APN settings are required for your phone in order for you to get 3G or 4G data connection. The only small but minor issue is when you listen to music from the speaker, not using headphones, it's very low. Anyone who has a G2 knows that it has ****ty sound quality if you don't use headphones. On that note, WOW, the music player and equalizer on the new CM13 are amazing! This has now boosted the volume by at least 30-35% for me. The base and surround sound while using headphones is clean, crisp and clear. It blows away the sound quality using stock android 5.0.1
I can't stress that enough because I have dirt cheap headphones that now sound like they're moderately high quality because of that. As far as other bugs/issues, they're all very minor things which aren't very noticeable and don't affect the overall working condition of the phone. All-in-all I salute the CyanogenMod team for all of their efforts. Going from Android lollipop 5.0.2 with all of the bloatware apps, fast draining battery, and consistently slow performance of the phone, I can safely say I'm very satisfied with the transition.

Considering it's the same radio -- same signal quality -- for both why would there be a difference?
"Limited Edition" doesn't make your phone any better, by the way. It's the same internal stuff.
But you know, we have TWRP custom recovery. Make a backup, wipe, flash CM, see for yourself. If you don't like it, just restore your stock backup from TWRP image. Everything is then back as you have it now, nothing lost.
IF you don't like CM, try Resurrection Remix. We have choices. (You have to go over to the other Quark XDA forum to find that one. The CM dev was just nice enough to post threads in both forums. We were one big forum until September but got split. Both custom ROMs work with all Quarks.)
There's also a custom kernel by the same dev as Resurrection Remix, based on CM's kernel.
The same dev also gave us official TWRP.
the moto driver provides the crystal talk voice enhancement may be one of the possible reason.

I personally didn't notice any differences but I don't know much about that HD voice enhancement stuff. The only audio issue I've experienced is my Bluetooth only accepts calls now 50% of the time.
I haven't gone through the trouble to try clearing caches yet though.
I noticed with both cm12.1 and rr that my Snapchat video quality was horrible, it picked up way too much extra noise, I feel like this may coincide with the Calling voice quality

I haven't noticed any difference between the CDMA voice on either the factory ROM, nor CyanogenMod. Of course, at this point, I can't comment on the VoLTE side of the baseband, as CM doesn’t support it, yet.
Sent from my DROID Turbo with Tapatalk. Now with that CyanogenMod goodness.
