[Q] Can't acces multitasting menu - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Since a few days I cannot get in the multitasking menu any more (double click on home does nothing). I tried various Sense-Roms (Sense 5.5, Android 4.4) and Kernels. After the install I can access the multitasking menu but as soon as I reboot the device the first time it won't work any longer and I have to re-install the ROM to get it working again (until next reboot). Currently I am running Android Revolution 41.0 with latest ElementalX Kernel (as already mentioned before - I tried other ROMs and Kernels too).

It could be that you have to hold the the home menu to bring up the multitasking
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
Stock ROM, CWM Recovery

No. This will open Google Now. Long Press brings me to the multitasking menu on other ROMs (Omni...) but not on Sense.

try holding the home button or double tapping home. some roms are set up different. if you cant figure it out you can always use an xposed mod to change what the home button does and set it to long press or double tap

I tried out double tapping and holding the home button. As I said before - holding home will open Google Now and double tap will just act as two normal tapps on home (closes App and brings me to home screen). Is there an XPosed Module you can recommend?

[Q] open power options without pressing power button

Hey guys, i have a captivate and im running ICS AOKP with nova launcher prime. My power button is near broken. It always sticks and requires multiple presses before a response. Is there a way to open power options (you know, it brings up the shutdown, airplane mode and reboot options) without pressing the actual power button with nova launcher or a google play app?
Eh...
I dont know of anything. That darn power button is a problem for SOO soo many people. However, something that may help you is going into setting, go to display, and hit volume rocker wake. This will allow you to wake up the device by pressing the volume buttons. Also, if you need to go into reboot options, try rom manager. You can access recovery from there. This is the easiest method I have heard about this issue.
Thanks for your advice. To be more specific, i wanted to be able to shutdown when i wanted. I had forgotten about the rom manager thing.
Also, something cool: If you use Nova launcher, you can change a setting to make the phone wake with the vol up/down. Also, if you buy the donate version and pair it with the app "screen off and lock", you can sleep and lock your device by tapping anywhere on the home screen twice. Its really nifty. Doing that makes you not even need to press the power button anymore....except when you want to shutdown, restart, or take a screenshot.

There are several roms floating around in the development section that have extended toggles. Usually this feature has reboot, recovery, and power off as options. I can't say which (if any) of the ICS roms have the extended power menu.
I can also say that MIUI's standard toggles have reboot and power on it.
Could you use QuickBoot for rebooting options?
Use my latest ROM
It has Search button remapped as Power. Both short and long press work!
I don't even use Power button anymore - Volume buttons to wake up!
Additional bonus - Search now works as Camera shutter!
ROM is in my sig.

[Q] How to disable the long press of home button, that triggers recent apps?

Hi guys,
I have a faulty home button that randomly triggers recent apps dialog (by long pressing of home button) even if iam not pressing the home button. Its not rom related i tried it. So I want to change the behaviour of phone when long pressing of home button to do nothing on this long press. This feature was possible in CM 10, where you can change the behaviour of hardware buttons. So i want to change the behavior of long press home button to do nothing. I have a rooted pnone of course and 2.3.6. Based rom by nkvi71 (see signature). Is it possible somehow? Thanks for your tips.
Btw i cant change it thru any launcher. For example if I change this in Holo launcher to do nothing on long press of home button, the Rom ignores this settings. And i cant use nova launcher because i have a gingerbread rom. Is there a fix for it?
Use cm7.
It gives you the feature to change it

Thanks for your tip i tried this rom based on CM7.2 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2234221 but no luck. In CyanogenMod settings i click on input - 3rd choice) and then I click on 'long press of home button' and then I untick 'Show recent apps' but no luck they still appear on long press of home button even if it is disabled also on holo launcher. Do you know any specifuc cm7 rom that offers explicitly to do nothing on long press of home button? Or am I doing something wrong??

[Q] CM10.2 Menu Button?

I just flashed cm10.2, and I noticed there's no option to have the htc logo work as a menu button like in 4.2
Is there any sort of fix for this?

i think it's there by default
Double tap the home button.
Or was it press and hold?
Either way, CM decided that the HTC logo button wasnt as good.
Expect the logo2menu to be implemented soon.

Press and hold gets you recent apps, double tap the menu. There is a settings item to change this but doesn't seem to have any effect currently.

[Q] Recent apps menu not working on ViperOne 7.0.1

I just installed ViperOne 7.0.1 on my HTC One M7. I can't manage to open the recent apps menu with any button (long-press home or back button, double tap home or back button). I tried changing its style to AOSP with no luck. Everything was working fine on Cyanogenmod 11s.
Did you perform a full wipe after coming from cm to a sense based ROM like ViperROM?
If you open VenomTweaks and scroll over to 'Buttons, Gestures & Keyboard' and then down to 'Double-press Actions' (or long-press actions), you can set that to open Recent Apps.
This was annoying me too but I finally figured it out

Change HW button single press action?

Title says it all, i'm on stock. In the Buttons screen there are options to change long and double press of each hardware button, but not single press. I can change single press action of the home button with nova launcher, i'd like to change single press action of the left capacitive button so it acts as a regular menu button.
Try flar2's Button Mapper app.
All I want is long press on back-hardware key to kill the current app which we can usually find in developer settings. Is it a Nugent thing or stock OOS disable this feature?
I'm coming from a galaxy s3 running CM from about 4 years ago and even then it had simple things like this, i could hold back to kill and also use volume controls to skip track when screen is off, etc. Can't do any of that on this new phone, really frustrating. To remap back and recent apps button using that app you need to upgrade to the pro version
