Hey guys,
I cannot get my HTC One to connect to my Netgear PTV3000 anymore. I was able to on the 4.1 roms, but no go on 4.3. It attempts to connect, then immediately disconnects. I have newest firmware for my PTV3000 as well.
I am on a sense 5.0/5.5 rom. I tried multiple different ROMs, so I don't think its ROM specific.
Anyone else have a Miracast device such as the Netgear PTV?
Have had this happen on a few routers. No one seems to know how to fix it.

I just rooted a phone on .5 stock firmware. Wireless tether from the market and pre 9 both install fine and start fine... but on other devices i dont see the network showing up. Is there a modified version or one that works good with stock? Thanks

I just tried pre3 and 3 evos dont see the ssid but a iphone does? Wtf someone please help haha

it shares the network in ad-hoc mode. Android phones by default can't see that unless they have a modified wpa supplicant. Iphone's and pc's can use it, buy game systems can't either. And apparently, neither can chrome os, damnit...
Does anyone know how to use Wifi direct with the HTC one to transfer moderate to large files like movies or videos.( beam/bue tooth is to slow) Everytime i try to use it with any phone it fails or doesn't connect. ive also tried third party apps like super beam/ send!/file transfer/ none of which work. i find it hard to believe that the HTC one is suppose to compete with the GS4 and GS3 but cant do any features that mimic S BEAM its a fail on HTC. if anyone could help to get this to work i would appreciate it thank you
Download Superbeam in the market.

Superbeam works fine on my HTC one. Use it to transfer between my one and my Nexus 10 all the time. Make sure Wifi direct is enabled on your phone, I believer there is an option to block it if you don't want people connecting, or something.
Every time I use it it says wifi direct fail I've tried HTC to HTC and HTC to Samsung I have my wifi and wifi direct turned on still not working I even went into the wifi direct option and manually paired with device still not working also tried a different HTC to make sure it's not mine still having same is first file was 86kb failed next was 1gb movie failed

I've successfully transferred a picture with super beam from my one to nexus 7. Not sure what's keeping it from working

Maybe you could try doing a factory reset or a custom rom, maybe something is borked in your os.
Have the same problem. Try to use WiFi direct with my wife's gs3 so I can watch a movie on my ps3 and her phone kept saying connection failed. Her sbeam was on and we were paired. Kinda weird. Any way on a side note any way to connect our phone as mass storage instead of mtp?

MadMan3353, we are building an app that does exactly just that. The app is called Drop, and it is a simple, fast, and secure way to share files with people/devices in proximity over WiFi Direct. We are going into a limited Private Beta soon, so if you're up for the challenge, (and running Jelly Bean) then sign up at www.get-drop.com. Seats are limited, and we have a rolling enrollment, so check it out.

Seriously? This doesn't help solve his problem. Especially when it is obvious from his posts that he has tried HTC to HTC.

This is why I think Samsung in the long run is going to lose...as they copied their way to the top, they are becoming like Apple...create a closed-ecosystem solution. At a minimum you need to create something that works at least within Android....and if you're ambitious, make it work cross-platform with iOS....shameless plug...go check out what we're doing at www.get-drop.com! Going into Private Beta soon for Android first...

what could be the issue?
my phone info: rooted I9305T Samsung rom, 4.1.2 BLL3 and very minimal changes to rom (some camera apk changes, bit of mms.apk changes etc.)
does airport support non-iOS devices?

The HTC Stocks app just does not want to connect to the internet. Everytime I add a stock I get
Connection Error: Sorry, but the connection dropped while your stock information was downloading. Try Downloading it again?

I've tried searching but I can't find any information on this. Is anyone else having this issue?
Which ROM are you running ?
Does this problem happens on 3G, Wifi or both?
I'm running the latest Venom Rom. I tried over GSM, WCDMA, and LTE. I have not tried over WiFi but when I get home I will try.

The same for me.
I am using rayglobe doing the same for me...if anyone knows why?
partly successful
I've managed to add a few stocks, but now I'm getting the same error messages. I wonder if it's the yahoo site that's refusing connection some of the time...

Hey guys, so ever since updating to 4.3 I've been having trouble with my wifi connection. It's not just mine it's my partners as well we have C6903's running the latest generic au firmware. It's seems that when connected to wifi I can access normal websites it works fine but if they use https they time out as if I didn't have internet. I've noticed to that apps that I assuming use ssl such as hangouts and the bank apps don't work either but apps such as tapatalk work fine. Anyone else having an issue like this or know how to fix it? Btw I've tried changing dns settings to Google's 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 and still no luck.

Type of connection (WiFi or 3G/4G) should not affect to the SSL, I think there is a problem with you router. Check that TCP port 443 is open.
For your information, I'm on 4.3 (.136) too and I have no problems with secured content.
Well that's what I thought too, but then why do no other devices on my network have an issue?
