I suggest a clean flash because its a whole different base 12B & I believe CleanRom is 11A
Do we really need that Zipalign here? Is it just beter overall perfomance or what? And does this rom support init.d?
I am downloading now. I will give this one a try

If you were on total stock and accepted the ota to 12B wouldn't that essentially dirty flash itself over 11A? I mean isn't CleanRom 1.0 pretty much stock, rooted, and debloated?
Thank you for this rom!! This was the one I was waiting for
Flashed this and it fails at the end. I'm using philz cwm. It says something about Loki.

If I do the process I will be able to zipalign, add init.d support & add busybox to the ROM. Zipalign just optimizes all the apks for better ram usage.

Yeah thats true, dirty flash but if any problems come up then wipe.
EDIT: @bL33d here is the modded hotspot http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2456338
Just got it all loaded and it works great. GPS is working faster on this ROM than the other one I was on. I need to do some more testing but so far so good. I used CWM to flash and all went well.
I'm running the rooted stock rom...can I dirty flash and not do a clean install?
Out of curiosity how many gigs does debloating save you?

The stock Verizon rom out of the box gives you about 24 out of 32 gigs to use. I was just wondering how much space debloating would free back up for you.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
Flashed it. All is working fine. Just finished installing all modes and apps. Can i remove My Verizon app? Can i install busybox myself here? Also i found out that i have 2 "contacts" account in google account. What it could be? Also lost few latest contacts. Just can't understand how that happen.

No, i can't remove contacts, its inside google account.
Anyway, ROM is faster than Clean ROM. I even can see the differences. Antutu marks are higher than ever. I am very happy with the ROM. Tomorrow gonna test camera on a party )) Thanks a lot for great and simple ROM.

Yes, As I suggested above, these are bloatwares that I think no one wants them in the ROM. (can be installed later if they want to)..
1. ( anoying notification of Your simcard is from Unknown Source.)
2. Backup Assistant Plus and its plugins (Even not working with non-US device, and very annoying)
3. Acoustic Warning ( just a warning that your ears can be damaged when you increase volume more than 60% (!) )
4.Emergency Alert
5. Moto Chinese input ( there are tons of chinese keyboard outside and much better ), Moto Smart handwriting, Moto Stroke ( chinese too )
6. My Verizon Mobile
7. Verizon Login
8. Verizon Remote Gianogstic
9. Video Calling ( just a shortcut to the market to download 2 other spam software Vooodo and Tango )
10. Swiftkey flow (beta) is good but I think the one love it has already bought it and will install again from Store with their pre-setting. The one who don't like it like me will remove it anyway.
11. Music FX and Audio Effect is duplicate functions. and both of them I feel not as good as "Awesome BEAT" 2.0 Plugin from "Pimpmyride" ( I attached it to the post ). Just flash and test the result, you will be surprised.
12. Change the Database setting of ettilement from 1 to 0 so freedom the Mobile Hotspot without activating from Verizon ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2059890 )
13. Future developement can be inspired by no NAVBAR function which gonna be awesome.
14. The annoying GAPP FC, as I can see it can be fixed with the GAPP packs from CM10, you can try and test it out too.
15. Verizon Location Service from Location Setting, As far as I can see, this function drain the battery and not working outside US too.
And again , Thanks for the awesome work you have done, this is the best Christmas gift, ever...
As long as stable build released. I would love to contribute donation if you provide the paypal link on the topic .

After the S4 logo it should boot to the Nexus bootup screen. Make sure to check the md5 of the file you downloaded to make sure it matches the one he posted.

How to disable ANNOYING messages "DETECTION Information":
Using TITANIUM BACKUP and FREEZING app called SEAndroid.apk DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY!!
DO NOT USE IT, YOUR SYSTEM WILL GO BACK TO CUSTOM AFTER SOME TIME!!! NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Use File Manager with root explorer instead and mount SYSTEM as WRITABLE.
2. Go to: /data/data/ look for com.sec.knox.seandroid and rename it to 000.knox.seandroid or whathever you wish.. Same thing applies to com.sec.knox.store
3. Go to: /system/app/ and DELETE: KNOXAgent.apk, KNOXAgent.odex, KNOXStore.apk, KNOXStore.odex

I believe that would be kernel side, If no other mja roms support it, this won't.
Downloading Now. Will report back pretty stoked to see another MJA ROM.

Thank you. Not sure if they do honestly. Been rolling with stock rooted since I got my s4 till now. (Flashed many roms over the past few years, just not yet on the s4) Just started my quest to pick a rom, and really want this app to workso I thought I would ask.
Thanks for the fast response!

Hi nega, is there any benefit keeping mf9 ? I read you can't go back so is it good to update to MJA?

It probably isn't good root-side, I don't suggest doing so, yet. I did it and I'm dealing with the consequences(which really aren't that bad, yet) Stick with mf9 just in case there's some magic dev with some jtag magic or some custom mja knox-free bootloader
About time man!
I'll be sure to try this out when I get home!

Edited...orginal post...Better/working now
Initially got "hot reboots" on stock and KT Kernel...with bad wifi. Reinstalled rom with stock kernel and got same issues....HOWEVER.... this seemed to only happen on first boot. I'm on stock kernel now and after I rebooted it, it's been showing zero issues stated above. No sure about KT kernel after the second reboot.

I noticed better graphic benchmark scores with MJA over MF9 with Antutu Benchmark app. Since Nega is on the Knox bootloader then I'm stuck in the same boat as him. Glad I'm riding on the same boat.
Picture is with MJA Neglite r6 with stock kernel. Stock MJA ROM pushes the same 3d score.
However, MJA is in development. Will take some time to get the ROMs working smoothly.
Sweet....Thanks Negamann303. Setting things up now.

LOL...Rookie mistake!
I'm trying to get MJA running...but my wifi will not work. What was the solution?
I followed the suggestions and flashed the wifi fix...but it still wouldn't turn on. I tried flashing agats kernel but that wouldn't boot. For now I'm flashing back to R-11...I'm definitely subscribed and I'm tuned in to watch this unfold.
Deleted....XDA is not cooperating with me
This ROM is more or less a debloated stock GE 4.3. It will work on the i9505 (international), i9505g (Google Play Edition), i337 (AT&T), i337m (Canada), and m919 (T-Mobile).
Features
Deodexed
Zip-aligned
Rooted
Auto-loki (For AT&T I337 only)
Removed all apps available in the Play Store except for Google Keyboard
Removed some Samsung bloat
Reboot menu
Play Store 4.4.21
Google Wallet works out-of-the-box
Mobeam (Omnibeam & Beepn'Go) works out-of-the-box
Notes
This ROM uses a Sprint (L720) branded build.prop to make more apps available from the Play Store (Mobeam, Wallet, WatchON). You can keep it as is but if you want to update your custom recovery through GooManager, don't forget to flash the linked build.prop for your phone first!
I had some trouble with SIM unlocking but a reboot fixed it.

You could always make a separate efs backup through twrp and try to restore it after you flash it but because this ROM is based off the L720 chances are its not going to work

I think I found the problem but I'm gonna put off a new build until 4.4. I have it all ready. Just waiting on someone to give us a patched kernel. faux123 is the only dev who knows how at the moment and he's MIA!

Me too
Me too. I'm waiting for your 4.4 release.
Any reason why this wouldn't work in Safestrap for MK2 once it is released? Since your 4.2.2 gpe rom worked perfectly with SS...
Hoping to see a clean 4.4 Rom soon!
I'm wondering if you are working on 4.4.
I loved your GE ROM's, they have been the best for me, no issues, weird reboots, force closes, etc. :good:
Thanks for all your hard work.
waiting for your 4.4 GE Slim rom on SS . i've been using your 4.2.2 rom for a very very long time...
Hello
Hey,
What ROM would you recommend for a 4.2.2 MF3 At&t Galaxy S4 SGH-I337?
I've been using the ROM found in here.
I am new to the rooted world.
It's the first ROM I tried and I love it.
I can go a whole day with, at most, losing 25% battery life.
I love the minimalist aspects of it.
I don't know how to keep track of new ROMs for my build though.
I don't really want to change ROMs at the moment, because I have everything I need with this one,
but if you can give me some cool advice, that would be awesome.
Any help, information, would be appreciated.
Thank you so much for this.
:good:
-Joey
Original Post:
Heya everyone!
I was trying to play Pokemon Go but I found out it only supports Android 4.4+ and by some cruel twist of fate I'm on 4.3.
I'm trying to figure out how to get to 4.4(or any other supported version) while still maintaining root(I need it because I'm on MetroPCS rather than AT&T and I have to use a root required app to use their service). I tried un-rooting and using the OTA update but that was a complete failure. (Maybe because I didn't fully unroot) Restored root with safestrap and I've been stuck in a rut since. I tried the guide in the resource thread but the guide it links to is missing a file so that's basically a no go.
Here's my about device(it's also rooted and I have safestrap):

If this info is relevant, I originally rooted my phone using this guide: http://www.androidrootz.com/2013/10/how-to-root-at-galaxy-note-3.html
Ever since I've installed xposed, a couple modules and loaded safestrap(thank God because I'd be so effed without this right now) onto it. Oh and I have yet to trip Knox.
Could anyone guide me through the steps or point me to the appropriate thread? I can follow instructions pretty well, as long as I can understand. Any help is appreciated!
P. S. Would this thread help? http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-att/general/how-to-root-n900aucudnl1-4-4-4-12-24-t2983357
Both mrkhigh's and 440bro's posts were insanely useful. Take the time to read carl1961's guide as well. Scroll down to the nc2 files section. The same steps are also included there as well as the same files you can use. Scroll a bit further down and you'll see screenshots(in hidden tags) of the files loaded correctly into Odin. There are several setups so use the one you need.
Thanks to everyone who contributed!
Hi @Crxssroad
Try this:
[First keep your note as you have it]
-Extract your CHIP or SIM, and your SD Card.
-Install a CUSTOM RECOVERY [could be TWRP or ClockworkMod] (This will keep your root or better upgrade your root)
-Download and install via custom recovery the @temasek rom CM13 (Android MM.) or any other CM11, CM12 build @temasek CM13 link: [HLTE/TMO/SPR][ROM][CM13][6.0.1_r30] Temasek's UNOFFICIAL Build v9.3]
MAKE SHURE THAT YOUR PHONE ITS SUPPORTED BY THIS ROMS (This also will keep your phone root)
-if you want update only the kernel, there is a lot of threads about many kernel variants for diferent versions of performance
[TIP: if you upgrade your KERNEL regardless if you install a new clean ROM or you just update your kernel always make a WIPE CACHE DALVIK, then when you boot in your main system install Antutu Benchmark from google play or aptoide, and run it and click test, then if you phone reboot during the test change the kernel, and then make another wipe cache dalvik, run the test of Antutu Benchmak. Make shure that you are runing a kernel that does not make your phone reboot by itself]
(Useful kernels and mini kernel guide here: [kernel] [lp] [most-roms] [all-qcom] idleKernel, a leanKernel fork (7.1.0) by @jcadduono )
Then put your SIM on, and reboot your phone, you would be able to play Pokemon Go, I ran Pokemon Go on my GlaxyS4Mini (GT-l9195) and in my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N900W8)
Hope this help you ::good:
(I'm sorry if my grammar its bad, I did not use to write or talk in inglish )
Easy
If you have "xposed" just search for "wanam xposed" install it , and apply it , reboot.
Open wanam click security or security change (before the last one ) mark the third option , reboot
Go to settings , OTA updates , update and done .
Hope this helpful.
We don't have cm for our device. Update safestrap to latest version and chose the ROM of your choice

Thanks for all the replies everyone, I just wanted to let you know that I've seen them and I'll take everything into account. I just haven't been able to study them as I've been busy but I'll update as soon as I can!
I just got to thinking.
You only want KitKat.
The second post is useless in this thread it does not pertain to note 3 att.
You should do this:
Download the nc2 Odin files,
And flash a clean 4.4.2 install using odin then install towelroot for root, then busybox then safestrap. Then install app quarantine, then freeze all Knox apps and art updater.
I'll post the URL in a second

Yes, what you described is all I'm hoping to achieve so if this will work, thank you a million times. I'm just having one issue with the thread you linked. When you say "all-in-one" I assume you're referring to this:
If so, the link leads to a page that cannot be found. :/ Is there any other place I could get the files?
EDIT: Actually, after looking above, there are some mediafire links that seem to be working. Are these the same files I need? If so, do I need to download all 5 individual files? If this is the case, I have no issue. I just want to be 100% certain.
EDIT2: Assuming I can go through with this, is there anything I need to backup? I have most important things in a cloud server so all I need to do is get my pictures. I have some in internal memory and some in my sd card. Any that might be deleted?
EDIT3: This person gave me a link to the files I need! So I'm going to be downloading these and I'll go through with the update as soon as I'm able to.
EDIT: 4 Updated! EVERYTHING IS WORKING FINE! Thank you thank you and many thanks unto you and all your descendants to come.
When I did it I had to factory reset to boot for some reason so I would back everything up prior to doing it.
I downloaded that all in one file last week so I'm sure on that page somewhere a working file exists

Thanks! I got everything to work just fine using the files from the other guy, but I followed your steps(which were the same as his save for installing busy box, safe strap and app quarantine).
Any other tips you can give me? I'm going to create a backup using safestrap as soon as I'm done installing all my essential apps but not sure if there's anything else I should be doing to save myself from any future possible f-ups.
Follow the guide for tethering... and maybe install xposed. Honestly thats all I did other than some debloating done via app quarantine.
