I recently upgraded to 4.3 through the update centre. Wanted to keep root so decided to flash the phone again back to .534, used flash tool everything went fine, and now it just keeps restarting. Goes on the colourful load up screen and then freezes and restarts. What to do? :silly:
It keeps restarting, I can't even turn it off. Just keeps turning on, going through start up then turning off..

yes, you need to upgrade back to 4.3 or use flashtool to flash a 4.3 FTF and exclude everything except baseband

No, stay on 534, root and then update OTA to keep root on .257
don't install a recovery until after you have updated to .257 But you will need to flash the 4.3 baseband to get network in order to get the OTA.
You cant root .257 directly, you must do it on .534 then update OTA, unfortunately, the OTA might take you straight to .290 (4.3)
If that's the case then you need to root on 534, install recovery and flash a pre rooted .257 rom in recovery

Last question, if I just want to keep it unrooted for now. How can I make it work? Trying to update to .257 OTA but it won't install. Just want to be able to use my sim card.

Use PCC to reset the original 2.1.1 software..
It'll make sure you have the right drivers installed.
Good luck.

You installed drivers ?
Yet another problem , but i guess this time i deserve it because i rushed into updating, here is the problem:
I flashed the new .244 Generic India Rom on my xperia Z , the system booted normally but then became unstable, loosing radio signal and turning off , when that happened it will only turn back on if its plugged to the computer or the charger , now it wont even boot , stuck on a loop.
i tried this :
1. repair through sony pc suite but it keeps crashing or telling me that it contains modified software.
2. Emma wont give me any services for the Z
3. i tried to flash different FTF files but the flashing would abort.
Please help

The part that concerns me is that toryyour phone is not responding in my experience that's a horrible sign and means that your device CB is damages beyond software meaning you will need you warranty.

Install Sony Update Service (SUS) and repair ur XSP
EDIT: I dont see any error in Flashtool. Data need time for flash.
1. Did u put the conector USB out of ur phone b4 finish the process maybe? Dont rush with this.
2. Install LATEST version of flashtool, try again to flash the firmware and wait till it finish.
3. Process btw Flashtool and PC Companion have to be completely closed. I mean COMPLETELY coz sometimes we start to flash having PC Companion running or running in task bar.
4. If u still stucked, close all process and use SUS

Bro what i wanted to do is to unlock my bootloader.
But i cant get it to work.
I did everything right!
But flashtool wont work!
What should i do now?
close your antivirus reinstall the drivers reboot your pc and try again
I can't help you farther..
Mine took 3 times until unlock with the flashtool
Also, try to unlock with custom rom..
I did it with GingerDX
No need necessary to be on official to unlock..
My Z wont turn on but i shows red LED and my computer can recognize the phone.. What solucions i have to fixed?
@edilson123
Of course PC can see it. It's probably in fastboot mode.
If (you're lucky) it's soft bricked, you need to reflash the rom via flashtool or even better via PC companion (which will surely repair it). From pc companion see repair my phone (or something like that).
I mentioned flashtool because you could flash the 5.02 version which is rootable (as far as I know 5.1.1 isn't yet). From 5.02 you can easily root, install recovery and flash a pre-rooted 5.11 rom. This is for Locked Bootloader. If you already unlocked the bootloader its much easier to root.
Now, back on your issue. If it's soft bricked it and doesn't even show the Sony logo, it means the Kernel got really messed up (by your actions) so Flashtool/Sony PC Companion is your friend here. If it's Hard-bricked, well, congrats. you now have an expansive paperweight. All hopes go for the soft brick

Does you phone has a warranty? It might be a hardware problem, not software
