Hi. I'm trying to make my phone return to official LG 4.1 stock, but for some reason Software Update says that my phone was not found! I have installed the drivers using LGMobile Support Tool and I have properly enabled Windows Enable (it indicates On). Also, I disable the modem from device manager successfully. My phone goes to S/W Upgrade normally, but the software fails to identify my phone! Any ideas...?
EDIT: ok. It seems that the problem was solved by using a different computer. I guess there's something wrong with my USB ports or something...

I just tried to upgrade my Optimus 2X via PC software. The package downloaded fine but in the middle of the upgrade process the PC software crashed(!) and now I have a phone which is stuck in the upgrade boot screen saying:
"S/W Upgrade
Please wait while upgrading..."
So, what now? Any way to get this thing working again?
First, remove your battery and put it in your phone. Boot the phone up and see where it goes. If it goes into S/W mode again, that sucks. If it goes to the LG boot screen, put the battery out again and put it in. Press Power + Volume Down buttom to go into the CWM menu. From there you can restore your backup (if you made one) or mount the SD card and put the (rom).zip file in your SD card. Then just flash the zip from the CWM.
The update process by LG is pathetic. Many a times, I had the same problem as you. It would just get stuck. It is because of faulty drivers on their part, unable to maintain a connection with the phone.
You can try to NVflash clockwork mod recovery (CWM) and then recover your data.
i have the same problem.
i've tried everything without luck.

Thanks for the infos. I managed to install a stock rom and baseband with SmartFlash yesterday. Just a few minutes ago I used LG's update tool to update the phone to Gingerbread.
So, problem solved. If anyone has the same problem, follow these instructions to update the baseband:

You can get stock roms from here:

Hello,
I was recently trying to load a stock rom on my LG540 and the process was interrupted because of a power failure. But the phone luckily booted into "download mode". I want to reflash using the procedures discussed in various posts on bricked phones, but my computer can no longer recognize the phone. The KDZ updater reports "Phone not Found". The correct drivers are installed and I am running windows 7 home edition.
Any thoughts as to how to get the computer recognize the phone?
Thanks, MN
maybe using "Run as administrator"
Try installing these drivers, they helped me when I first used KDZ. The links are from a hungarian site.

I think the bootloader is corrupted, it's basically "bricked", but not fully
Drivers must be the issue. Try uninstalling LG driver, reinstall it or use Windows Update to install drivers.
Bricked GT540
Maybe you can use LGDP2 ??
Hello.
I recently tried to root my phone with the S3 Mini Toolkit. I have the GT-I8190 international version.
It said that I needed to Install the device drivers first (which is the v1.5.18.0).
So I did it as instructed in the command prompt. When it finished installing the driver, and I plugged my device as instructed, suddenly came an error message "Samsung Hardware ID is missing error", and my Mini became unrecognized all of a sudden. I couldn't access my device storage.
There was an error message too popped up in my device saying that It cannot find a driver in my PC for my device.
I tried to install KIES afterward, hoping that it can solve the problem. Thing is, it didn't. My device was still not recognized, and KIES couldn't recognize it either (Connecting.....for, like forever).
I then tried to Google the problem, and came by a forum, saying that it was the 1.5 USB Drivers that caused the problem (but the case being talked in the forum is for Galaxy S3). Said that my PC need to uninstall the 1.5 drivers, uninstall KIES, deactivate the automatic device installation by Windows, and install the 1.4 version.
Well, what I can find in the internet is the 1.3 USB Drivers, so I tried the instructions, and installed the version 1.3 USB Drivers, and my PC recognized my device again, and able to access the storage.
(also, the 1.3 drivers made Odin unable to recognize my phone too in download mode).
Does anybody here have ever experienced the same problem as mine? Or did I do something wrong?
I managed to root my Mini, being not recognized by the PC (but registered at the toolkit) in the whole process, and then did the whole uninstalling and re-install the USB drivers so that I can access my storage again.
Because it's rather a painful process if in the future I want to use the toolkit again with the newest drivers.
Note:
- before rooting, I did the latest OTA update.
My current device info is
Android version 4.1.2
Baseband version I8190DXAMA2
Build vnumber JZO54K.I8190DXAMA2
Region Indonesia
Thank you very much
Bumped. Can anybody gives me some enlightenment about this issue? Thanks

I have even tried the lg tool on another computer with no luck. I have tried some tools from here as well and the computer seens to have some aspect of the phone it just cant put a driver on. it says that a usb device has malfunctioned

im having the same problem. i called lg and they said all i could do is send the phone in cause the operating systems been wiped by the update tool
Rooted LG D405n, nothing done to the software beyond that (unless you count having zooper/nova launcher configured on it). Gave the phone to a friend for a short while and she decided to update the software using the LG software update on the phone. After she selected install on the latest update which came out not long ago and was supposedly going to update the apps, it restarted and got stuck on boot screen with Boot Ceritification Error [560].
I've tried this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-l90/general/guide-flash-stock-kdz-offline-lg-l90-t2803479 but I got stuck on step 4. because I cannot make the PC recognize the device (it does not show up at all), so the LG tool can't install USB drivers. If i try to do it manually (it gives me an option to select a device from a list) it doesn't seem to do anything, just gets stuck on the Downloading USB driver window.
I can put the phone in Firmware Upgrade Mode just fine, but it doesn't seem to do anything useful. The PC still won't recognize the device, however I can hear the 'usb pluged in' sound (I'm on Win7).
Did a factory reset, didn't help.

You could try the LG Support Tool. Not sure it will work but it's worth a shot. The problem with the phone not getting detected by the PC is the fact that 1) The OS was upgraded by your friend and 2) The factory reset you performed . Both of those acts would have disabled USB debugging hence no device detected.
I unfortunately have no encouraging information to give you.

It appears that I have fixed it.
Since The tool would not download the USB drivers by itself I went to the LG website and got them manually, installed them and restarted the PC.
After that I launched the LG Mobile Support Tool, but it still didn't see the device.
However, I clicked Options and Upgrade Recovery. It asked me for my IMEI. I put the phone into Firmware Upgrade mode and the program started upgrading the phone.
After it was all done, the phone restarted, and the software update simply said that instalation failed, I have lost root but everything else seems fine. Rooted again with towelroot and I'm back in game.
