Noob here...Is there not an option to save edited pics as another image on the stock camera? I've lost pictures saving and when trying to edit cam has crashed leaving the original gone. Frustrating cuz I'm losing good pics. I like the cam and don't really want to flash another but will if no other solution. Thanks

Hey guys,
I'm wondering what camera you guys use and which one has the best quality?
I'm flashing back to stock 2.3.6 btw.
If you're flashing stock, stock camera is the best!

I tried that after u recommended it once...it is almost like cm camera except maybe for that panorama mode ..it lacks some important things like adjusting contrast which is needed for a poor camera like our sga's.....

I advice to try HDR camera. It is the best to make picture of steady things... If you pay money for it, you can make pictures with truly amazing colors... It has a free version with very few ads.
Camera 360 is good too. It's free and it's got lots of different effects/functions. Or perhaps Camera FV-5 if you're more into fiddling with settings.
I used ZOOM FX before I flashed to CM7. Stock camera is good, but cant be used when the battery is low.
Amigo
The stock is the best Flashlight option is not working in video mode in CM.

U also hav the option of not editing it. Yess. But picsay is just an editor.not a camera.
Zoom FX is nice, I find Instagrm to be overhyped.
I use ZoomFX. There is almost no difference in image quality between the cm7, stock or ZoomFX camera apps, but ZoomFX has more options to play with and there's also the advantage of being able to use it even if the battery is low.
Stock camera is the best! I'm missing it but CyanogenMod is more customiseable!

Vingette is the best one. Srsly.
Hi forumers, I have patched the 4.2 camera with the resolutions that Z&ZL support (13mp, 9mp, etc).
Here's a flashable ZIP (or you can just copy the files to the appropriate directories yourself, if you don't have CWM/TWRP installed).
Be sure to backup libjni_mosaic.so. You can remove SemcCameraUI.apk afterwards if this camera works for you.
Original ZIP taken from this post.
Will this overwrite stock camera?
No it won't, they coexist.
both cameras take almost identical photos to my eyes.
what is different from the stock?
I don't see a difference to the Stock camera. Same mushy pics, until now BURST Mode seems the only option which produces good pics.
Thanks for your efforts anyway
For me seems to launch much faster, I also like the swipe-to the left to open the gallery and gestures in the gallery itself. The photosphere function is also nice.
it is better than the stock camera in 350 firmware, but sony seems has changes the iso approach of the stock camera in the new 434 firmware, now they look identical to me, but the launch speed and photosphere make the difference, thx!
does this apk work on odex Rom's? Thanks!

The main reason for using this as opposed to other camera software including stock is photosphere.
Photosphere is one of my main reasons, (other than altering $hosts) for getting root access.
Op you don't really need to add the extra apks though

Has anyone else noticed in photosphere not being able to take the very top and bottom photos? All the blue dots show up except at the very top and bottom so the resulting photosphere has two black gaps in it.

It's a known issue with photo sphere. Take them in portrait and theres no gaps

Will there be another mod on this that allow saving to external sd card?
Thanks.

Photosphere just simply does not work, I have tried so many times to make one and it just makes a total mess or half missing or nothing at all. It worked fine on my Galaxy S3. I guess I can only hope we get it officially in the 4.2 update.

curious I've made 3 really good photospheres.
Does it take Photo Sphere pics?

You could have, you know, tried reading the post before yours (and most of the thread).
This is the one I miss from my note 2. Thanks a lot OP.

I'm using the gallery2.apk from 4.2.2 on my SlimBean 4.1.2 ROM and seems to work fine. I'm missing the night ISO feature though, which really helped in low light. Was wondering if I'm missing some libs or something? Or is this feature out of reach for 4.1.2 ROMs?
Cheers!

What? How am I bothering the devs? It's a simple question. I'm not the only one who would like to use this feature without having to use the buggy and slow 4.2 builds.
Logically if the camera/gallery apk works so should simple features like night shot ISO. I've only ported the apk maybe there are other files attached to this app? I know I'm not the only one who would like this.
Cheers!

You mean the ISO settings on the stock roms?
EDIT: I read your thread properly ._.
Hmmm... Maybe it is connected to the camera libs. Although I think its a 4.1.2 feature only (I've never seen a night ISO on the 4.2.2 roms I've tried)

Lol not stock. I've taken gallery apk from slimbean 4.2 and put on slimbean 4.1.2. The feature I'm on about is on the settings panel within the camera screen. It's the ISO option which is there on most jb 4.2 builds.
When using the camera with 4.2 it give you a ISO mode "night" which works great for low light situations.
When I use the same gallery apk on a 4.1.2 build the ISO mode is still there with various levels but "night" mode is no longer.
I like 4.1.2 over 4.2 for its speed and having the full screen camera is very nice. Everything works using this camera, just missing features like night ISO and photo effects which I think was gallery4.apk, though I never use this so left it out my system.

I have the vanilla 4.3 OTA flashed on my phone and any screenshots i take are fine but when i send them via any medium they get blurry. Including SMS and hangouts. I thought it might be compression but i dont see why hangouts would compress the pics? Also i had this problem on 4.2.2 but I never had it on my galaxy nexus.
If anyone can help that would be great
Thanks
The screen shots are in 1080p so it could be compressing the pics
