The stock one? What issues do you have with it?
I use dolphin with the flash plugin set to on demand. That works quite well for my usage which is simply to watch the odd embedded flash video on a website.

chrome doesnt support flash anyways.
i gave up on the stock one years ago, cause it doesnt have the functionality or "easy-to-use" capability than all other browsers
btw: dolphin used to crash even before i activated flash.

I think you should try the stock one again. It is the best imo
I think stock browser is still the fastest and most stable on the transformer series. Some flash sites work on Chrome better, but in general Chrome on android is still dodgy.
On some websites I find streaming videos can't be viewed at full screen. Firefox lets you download them however to be viewed in the stock media player but it would be nice to be able to just view all videos in full screen. I find stock and chrome doesn't allow that.

Firefox looks good and works nice functionally, but it's laggy on my TF701 compared to stock and even Opera/Chrome. Not sure why it's laggy like that....
I like chrome, but i miss the tap to zoom on link areas doesn't seem to function on tf701.
there was also no option to enable.
having said that it has not crashed on me yet. but i did have a few times with videos not coming up right out of allignment on the page
I've been using Boat Browser for Tablet. It has some stability issues but it is very fast and has a lot of features. The latest version just introduced floating tabs, but I haven't had a chance to try that out.
Seems like the stock browser is still the way to go. Have not had a problem with any sites yet. Are people having issues with the stock browser?

Stock browser is the best but i use firefox because i need an addblocker. If i could block adds without adbclockplus i would use stock browser.

I have always used the stock browser.
Stock + Opera does it for me. Stock for browsing and every day stuff, opera opens videos and flash and does the job faster.
Have any of you tried UC Browser?
I've been using the phone version for a week or so and really like it.
I haven't had as much time to try out the tablet version (the one in the link), but have used it and it seems really good as well. Worth checking out.
definitely the stock one, all the other got too much feature in that i never use anyway

hey mates,
i'm looking for the "best" browser for my dhd.
there are so much out there, that i cannot decide
firefox mobile, opera mobile/mini, skyfire, dolphin hd,...?
which one do you recommend? flash support would be nice.
DN41
Firefox is good
dolphin is excellent
I've tried all of them. My best experience is with SkyFire for watching flash. Firefox always crashes, dolphin lagged out so much once that I had to remove the battery, Opera as you know has no flash but is extremely fast for non-flash. But in the end they all have their pros and cons which is why I have all of them
I've heard good stuff about miren browser, havent tried it though :/
thanks...
as i guessed, the opinion here around is also splitted
yeah...i think a combo of skyfire and opera does it best...
lets see
DN41
Haha... Still using the default one.
yeah but i doesnt like the w'n'w logo because mine is tmobile branded
nope its not bad, but i thought there are better ones out there
DN41
Dolphin is by far the best browser ! Hands down. I've tried them ALL: Opera (bugs), Firefox (I'm a BIG Firefox fan for the pc but on the DHD it's just unresponsive & slow), Skyfire is also just ok nothing special.... Ur best bet is Dolphin HD... Gluck....
I'm a big fan of Dolphin HD as well. Its got some really handy addons which are nice to have sitting in your toolbar. I personally never suffered from any lag with this browser on this phone or my previous Nexus One.
xScope 6 is not bad and supports flash.
Am i the only one that thinks the stock browser is good? I've tried Miren and Dolphin HD, but i don't like them. Feels kinda slow. Also on WiFi (20 mbps down 10 mbps up)
downloading flash
anyone found an ad-on for any of the browsers which enables you to save/download flash videos? Have been looking but come up with nothing

I actually quite like the stick and watch some pretty intensive flash videos on it without a problem. The one problem they all have is that if you're watching a flash video and decide to try and go back,. You have to press the back button at least 3 or 4 times :/

I'm using the stock browser and its fast. Flash is not a problem. I've used Dolphin HD as well and I must say its basically the same as stock cos its base on the stock browser.

Yes but i have noticed on Dolphin. there is no option to switch from mobile version sites to fulll sites. whereas with the stock broswer i just untick enable mobile view. this alows me to go to sites e.g dailymotion and watch videos as if it was the full site and just maximise the videos. LOVE STOCK browser. lol

Does it have the option to remember which sites you want to view in mobile mode and which you want in desktop mode? That's the only thing that's missing in the stock browser . I want to view the news sites in mobile mode, but southparkstudios' mobile version doesn't have the full episodes .

Been trying for about two days to get this working, was really annoying me that when i got the nexus 7, i could not use i player.
So here it is for the others that are having problems with it.
Install the two apk's attached.
If you have been trying to get it working with other versions of iplayer and flash, please go into app manager and clear the cache and data of these apps before opening them.
go to apps and launch i player and enjoy.
No need to use other browsers now.
just installed those files, working well. thanks.

Simple indeed but The picture quality is a bit crud with this method _ if u install flash and Firefox or dolphin mini and set to desktop user agent you can just go to the iPlayer website and select and the stream adjusts to your bandwidth and you can view the HD streams too! You have to put up with the flakiness of flash in a browser but you can still watch in glorious techno vision.

Edited: I meant to say use the Firefox beta from play and then set request desktop - then go to normal iPlayer website.
So far is most stable way to get high quality viewing and HD options. HD stuff looks awesome - other versions just look poo in comparison.
If u want to show someone iPlayer on N7 then the above is the easiest and best imo

Funny thing that, im no expert here, but when i wiped the Nexus and re installed the i player and flash as i said above, i got the same thing. Perhaps someone with more knowledge could explain. But also i Rooted the device and set the dpi to 160 for tabley mode before i installed. Maybe that has something to do with it.

No if you use cm10 jelly bean rom so you will have to use older version of dolphin to be able to view flash objects and videos as they disabled flash operation in all jelly bean roms if you use ics rom as cm9 so ok flash will work with latest version of dolphin
If you want to use cm10 rom so use stock browser in it so good with flash support but you will need to side load flash to install it or restore it by titanium backup

They all have this option. Chrome just has the link in the menu to view desktop version. Quite handy tbh.
Most download sites work better if you change it to desktop.

So I own the nexus 7 for 3 days now and I love it. But I've never been a fan of the chrome browser cause I think its too inconsistent for me. So I tried many different browser:
Mozilla: OK but sometimes not fluid
Maxton: nice and fluid with ability to support flash but sometimes not responsive
Chrome: default browser, fairly fast rendering but can stutter from time to time.
So I've been trying Dolphin browser since yesterday and I love the experience. Easy access to bookmarks, fast rendering, fluid with little to no lag, just an all around solid browser that I would recommend to anyone. What about you guys, which browser do you use and which one would you recommend?

I'm in the same boat as you, I use Dolphin on the Nexus due to Chrome stuttering on some sites, and the Lastpass integration is nice too. But Dolphin sometimes just closes and disappears for no reason which I haven't been able to figure out. No force close message or anything.

+1 ... Love the Full screen mode.
chrome drives me nuts with the zoom box whenever I try to click a small link, and firefox seems to constantly follow the wrong link, and doesn't allow you to correct and redirect even though it's highlighted the correct link after the fact. I also don't like how firefox reloads when you click "back" rather than loading a cache. Guess I'm going to have to try dolphin, but FML how hard can it be to get an awesome browser from google of all companies...

I totally understand what you're saying. I'm coming from an iPad 3, which is honestly a great tablet despite apple being a bunch of douchebags lol, and safari works flawlessly. ..I mean FLAWLESSLY it is incredibly smooth and fast. Dolphin and Boat are browsers, they are just browser skins on the stock browser.
Only Opera Mobile, Chrome and Firefox offer TRUE browsers.
Out of these, Opera Mobile wins by a mile, it's twice as fast as all the others, and it's rendering seems to be more how the page should look when viewed on a tablet.

For all Nexus 7 owners who would love to use Chrome for Android, but can't stand its laggy /jerky performance and the fact that the iOS is already on v21 & we're stuck on v18, there is a giant ray of sunshine!
There is reference to a Milestone '24' for many of the highlighted issues, so hopefully Google will give us a major update around the time Chrome desktop is updated to 24, probably around November, in time for 4.2?

When you compare it to the stock AOSP browser on the N7, it is far less smooth, especially in terms of scrolling.
Javascript performance is slower, according to Sunspider. I expect all these things to be fixed in the next big update.
On Chrome desktop there was a big jump in performance from v18 to v19, like 20% faster javascript rendering in Sunspider, so hopefully these changes will be incorporated into the Android version.
I use the Boat browser on the N7 and Chrome on the S3. Boat has flash, so all good there.

Cool, if you're happy with it now, it can only get better with a major update, however IMO it is far less polished than the current AOSP browser.
It kills me they removed the option to disable "Open page in overview" in Chrome.. I hate with a passion constantly having to zoom in every time I go to a new page.. Opera is the same way and it's beyond mind boggling why they insist on keeping it this way. AOSP browser > *
Chrome is awful all around IMO.
It'll take something of glory to get me off of Dolphin Browser.
Really looking forward to an update. Chrome is stuttering for me.
