Features
-Android Lollipop 5.1.1 OUT NOW!
-There are not many features in 5.1.1 yet because the developers are still working on it, so don't be disappointed if the feature you want is not implemented yet.
Previous features (which will be implemented soon by the Vanir team I believe):
-Freaking insane speed
-Custom toolchains, -O3, OptiPNG, bionic, krait, and dalvik performance commits, -fstrict-aliasing, custom CFLAGS, and MORE!
-Vanir Performance Settings
-UI mode switcher
-Tablet statusbar split
-Regular and Inverted Themes
-Active Notification Tiles
-Statusbar Mods
-Lock Screen Mods incl. Widgets, Custom Target, etc.
-Navigation Bar
-Transparency Settings
-Hardware Key Controls
-Power Menu Entries
-Fast Torch
-HALO
-Hover mode
-Heads Up
-Double Tap status bar to sleep
-Quick Camera
-Interface Mods
-LED Notification Control
-Compiled with GCC 4.9
-Battery saving mode
-Immersive mode
-etc (There are so many features in it I can't possibly list them all, so try and experience it for yourself!).
Install instructions:
1. Download the ROM (obviously) and place it in your SD Card
2. (Optional if you already did this) Flash the kernel in the zip with fastboot flash boot boot.img. This is just to get CWM recovery.
3. Boot into recovery mode.
4. Wipe data (or cache and dalvik cache if coming from an older version)
5. Flash the ROM.
6. Flash GAPPS
7. Reboot, and done!
Bugs:
- Refer to the latest posts
Notes:
-This ROM is no longer maintained by me, and instead has been handed over to the OFFICIAL VANIR TEAM

Hmm. Root works fine for me. Take a look at settings/Superuser. Attached is a screenshot of Titanium Backup on Vanir. Maybe try flashing the Superuser binary?
I will take a look into the battery drain issue.

Screenshots uploaded. There aren't many UI customizations now, as they are being slowly added back to Kitkat. One main feature of the ROM is its speed and smoothness, which can't be shown in screenshots. You have to flash it to feel its power.

OK, I added a new version of the ROM, and the SuperSU problem and battery drain should be fixed.
Download here.
Remember to wipe data before flsahing this, or else there may be problems.
I have been testing it for a day, and I'm amazed at the lagfree-ness of the ROM. Just speeding through tasks like they're nothing. There is no stuttering of animations too when flipping through tabs and pages, or going to the recent apps menu. Try it.
Here are the battery stats: 1 day without charging, 2.5 hours of screen time (mostly YouTube videos and a bit of gaming), auto-brightness, and still 40% left!
Gaaps are too big
Please explain
Can we flash 4.4.2 GAAPS from other rom.Because provided in link are almost 200 MB.
I want only google account sync and G+ and gmail.
Kind assistance would be highly appriciate.

Yes, you can use whichever GAPPS you want as long as it is for android 4.4.2. The GAPPS provided is just for people who don't know where to download it.

Could I request a flashable zip of the kernel for step 2. The reason being my laptop is messed up on drivers as I have a Samsung,Nexus and Sony phone and I can't install the fastboot drivers for any apparent reason. I already have CWM on this phone.
Or would creating one myself work?
To my understanding I would need to put
META-INF folder with the certs and updater-binary and a customized updater-script to mount filesystems and extract the kernel
lib/modules folder

After update, Rom works fine so far! It is fast and seems stable.
The only "bug" that I found is that the quick toggle symbol for mobile data is not centered, plus the user switcher toggle stays blank, no picture is shown
Pitty that ART is not functional :/
BTW: I love the boot logo
Edit: battery life is brilliant

Seems fine to me though, try restarting? See if your picture is set in the People app (or rather, use the People app to set your picture).
Maybe it's just one of those bugs.

Yeah looks like the updater script is wrong for the recovery we use. I just tried in TWRP and it failed also. I think it's because the recoveries think my phone is C6603 because they are from Xperia Z. The BeanStalk Rom is supposed to be installed in C5502 or C5503 so it fails.
We just need to edit the updater script or get a proper recovery. There are links online through Google on how to update the script. I'll try again later when I have time.

Yes you do need to unlock bootloader in order for you to flash kernel.
Multi Window and all those other features aren't there, im guessing thats a copy and paste feature list from a previous version, as the rom is just 4.4 with some basic CM11 settings with beanstalk plastered everywhere lol.
thanks very much though, everything seems to work. didnt think id be getting a working 4.4 rom so soon.

Hi to all of you Tsubasa owners.
I come here to present you this nice rom, "Dirty Unicorns" wich is based on Omni Rom and on Android 4.4.3
This is absolutely not my work, i just compiled it from DU sources and from @walter79 and omni's repos/device trees.
So i suggest u to pass by their original threads/profiles for thanking them and g+ to give them a coffee or more!
Will try to give u guys weekly builds!
Original thread herehttp://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/orig-development/rom-dirty-unicorns-v7-11-04-14-t2633855http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/orig-development/rom-dirty-unicorns-v7-11-04-14-t2633855
Dirty Unicorns (DU) is a custom ROM originally based off AOKP, but now based from OmniROM. DU brings you a great mix of stability and customization. The idea to start a ROM like this was purely out of boredom, but later turned into a form of an addiction, a good one. We began to have fun while still doing things the right way. By doing so, we received high praise from not only our users but by fellow developers of other ROMs that enjoy seeing things done the right way. This ROM will always be free of charge without any strings attached or any of it's developers luring you into donating or any form of "pay to flash".
"Give credit and thanks where is due!" That's something that has fuel the way we do things! With that said, we would like to go ahead and credit those individuals and groups that have made this ROM possible with their original code and contributions to the Android community.....
| OmniROM | AOKP | ChaOS | Paranoidandroid | SlimROMs | Preludedrew | Team Black Out | Official Testers / Translators |
Believe it or not, we are human and we do forget things. If we have left someone out of the credit/thanks list, just PM us and we'll gladly add on to the list.

6.0 - android_kernel_sony_msm8960
- Copy the ROM and Gapps zips to your device
- Make sure you have TWRP or CWM Selinux compatible recovery
- Wipe everything but your external/internal storage
- Flash the Rom followed by the Gapps and reboot
- All subsequent flashes are easy: just flash the Rom zip and reboot, no wipes or Gapps needed
ART doesn't work.
CPU frequency and governor/scheduler adjustments in Settings/Performance need to be reset after each reboot.
If you lose signal bars after tapping on Settings/Dirty tweaks/Status bar color, pull down Quick Settings, toggle Airplane mode on/off and the bars will be back (the signal is OK all the time, it's just the icon)
Other than that, nothing that I've seen, but feel free to post what you find

rom is smooth, I like tons feature in it, especially in animation...
great job, btw, where is theme manager in changelog?
I receive an error when I tried to install the rom using PhilZ Touch CWM Advanced Edition saying "The package is for "LT25i, tsubasa" devices; this is a "mint" (Status 7)
What did I do wrong?

@mathacer
if it's not in official DU changelog....
@ghemanth
i don't feel like to cherry pick feature each time i will build it, i have a lot of devices to maintain now, so will keep it original and to avoid bugs i won't add any features sorry...
blue screen/random reboots issues are all gone, even on cm11/cm11 based roms bro

Just look in General Android App Development thread, you will find several ported versions of all Sony media apps.
These will most likely work with all AOSP roms, including this one.

I Just flashed this ROM on my XV and I'm completely surprised by tons of customizations available
I can say this is the most customizable ROM I've seen for our XV,
Speed and response is perfect.
No hangs,crashes,or reboots :good:
Everything like music, camera, hotspot and Dirty Tweaks work without any error.
Completely stable and perfect for daily use.
Thanks again for your awesome porting :fingers-crossed:

Wow, this rom looks awesome.
Is it also based on default Omni Kernel or Walters hotplug kernel. My doubt is as always, battery consumption.
What percentage per hour is it consuming?
Thanks for this great work. Will flash later and see how it goes.

Great, now that carbon is stable, you give us another good rom. Now i cant decide which one to use

Yes. Little flickering in low lighting but it works fine and for me stable.Google services FC. Cleared data, but anyway FC. No more FC in Google services. Settings-battery-low battery notification - nothing -FC setting every time Theme option is cool. Battery life...not bad at all, after little tweaks I get about 10% drain with "power user" mode Its good. Still don't get how battery saver working, but I'll get it soon. Kernel undervolting would be outstanding option. In built in kernel tweaker controls only first core. I lowered frequency to ~1200, but second core is still pumping 1500Mhz in full power.
And probably most important thing: absolutely no heating or over heating. Used phone about 3~ with full power and surprisingly phone is very cold!!! Seriously thats cool

Nope I'm on Dalvik. I can't live without Xposed and I assume that the crashes might be because of some modules, the reboots are completely random, though they occur mostly when opening Facebook, or html5 video on firefox.

Heating is usually a kernel issue. Try omni kernel? Or tweak your kernel governor. Should ease the heating.
"omni kernel" means omnirom mod rom install ?

Booted just fine. Viper still does not work and weather forecast location settings are nowhere to be found. I'll play with for a bit and report back. Thanks for your work, GrinningFerret
Build works like a charm but I wouldn't mind Doze..
@up : you only need to change the SE policy to permissive in order for viper to work
Edit: @OPhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=225651 : don't forget to mention the quickboot bug and could you post the Carbon ROM changelog for the sanctity of laziness?
Damn, I wasn't listening to music on my phone for like 3 weeks because of that, I wonder how I could miss this relation when I changed rom. Anyways, thank you, I owe you
@up
But on my ROM it was always permissive, and some stated that it still doesn't work ^^

Dunno, last time on your RR (somewhere at the beginning of the month) it worked but was glitching sound, on Ferret's it worked properly (also old build) but on optimized cm it did not work at all (newer build).
After changing mode it finally works. I'll be delighted to check this out when (if) your new build is up
Sorry for OT.
Rom runs smooth, but haven't test it out heavily yet. Ram management seems to be alright for now
@ardentis
If you link me the official changelog I will include it. Couldn't find it....
@up : I can't find it either. . Could you add your changelog possibly?
Seems that official CarbonROM changelog is broken - it was good in times of KitKat

Oups, I did, but it seems I didn't hit the save button. But only difference is the StormySea kernel and the fixed sim issue.

Well I was busy with school for awhile and I've been busy with family and getting my car fixed and stuff but I'm hoping to work on my Blisspop ROM in the morning(about 9 hours from now) and hopefully have an initial test build by Thursday or Friday.
My friend kinda stopped his development on liquid smooth as far as I know but I do intend to start off where he left off as soon as I can. When I get my initial builds of the ROMS I'm gonna need help figuring out how to fix bugs and stuff because I don't have experience in that but I am willing to learn. Any help will be appreciated. Also I was wondering is there a fix for the no focusing on the camera when not on stock ROM? It really kills the pic quality.
I am on d415. I noticed the OP says something about a patch. I use a patch3 zip every time I flash a new nightly. Does this mean I can use it with any of the variants, even the lollipop builds, like this ROM, and it will work?
I asked about the patch in a different post and someone mentioned it was some kind of kernel and doesn't work with cm12. Is there more than one kernel for the d415?

to everyone that reports a bug: if you don't provide logs, and I can't reproduce or don't have the bug myself, you can't expect me to fix it because I'm not a tech psychic or a wizard, i.e. logs are essential if you want me to fix the problem you're having. They can even be taken after a hard or soft random reboot (most easily using the SysLog app), and even in a bootloop (especially if you take them in Linux, you can catch adb earlier than in Windows)
So no more excuses for not providing logs in my threads. Either you do it, or I completely ignore your complaint.
It's good to see some life returning to the development scene for this device with Marshmallow. It would be interesting to see Android 'N' on it at some point just for laughs.

May I ask how much screen time can you get with Doze? I'd really love to make this build my daily driver, but i hope battery is at least as good as stock .

Doze doesn't really affect screen-on time, except in relation to sleep time. With my 3 years old yuga with original battery, with this ROM I get around 3 hrs SOT along 20 hours since charge. Of course this may vary with changed brightness (I use it quite high) and sync, location and data, which are all on for me. I also use Facebook app.

To install this:
1. Download Rom from first post
2. Download Gapps from here: http://opengapps.org/ and chose 6.0 pico version
3. Go to recovery and delete for sure /data /system /cache and /dalvik cache though i would recommend also internal, just to give it that clean install
4. Flash both rom and gapps
5. Delete cache and dalvik cache
6. Reboot and enjoy

Can you include camera from RR 6.0.1? This google camera included here is not that good

No (for various reasons among which the most important is that it may not compile due to Tesla having different code base from RR), but you can download some better camera apps from Store. I think Snap Camera is some kind of clone of the one in RR/CM (the name is similar anyway).
