Hi all, tried checking various threads and don't seem to be able to track down this problem.
Basically my phone decided to lose root for some reason, and then when I rebooted to check it went into a bootloop.
I reflashed Nut's .569 rom, superSU fix, and the stripped ftf.
Phone boots up fine, but now when I press the home button, nothing happens.
I also have Llama and there's no ongoing notification and buncha settings are messed up like ringtones, etc.
Any fix for the home button and reason why I can't get Llama notification back on the status bar? Tried everything so far.
Edit: seems like my status bar is dead or something.
Edit 2: Stock Sony camera is also dead. But other 3rd party cams are working.
Bizarre.
I would say, flash again. But make a clean flash. :victory:
Reflash Nut's rom, supersu fix, and reflash stripped ftf with wipe everything. This should solve everything as this doesn't seem like a hardware problem.

I've done that several times already. No difference. Everything feels dead in terms of the UI. No notifications, no google search Swipe, no alarm, no camera.
It seems that my /data/ is also empty. Wonder what may have caused this.

I'm desperate with this one please help me! I'm using SlimICS but it seems like i have a miscalibrated accelerometer. I tried apps to calibrate but doesnt work. I read somewhere about the sensorcalibutil_yamaha located in /system/bin/ but I cant find mine. Cant play asphalt or any landscape accelerometer games bacause it kept tilting. I searched everywhere regarding this but still cant find an answer. Im using semaphore kernel in case it has something to do with this.

Solution: I flashed back to Gingerbread rom, did the horizontal calibration and flashed custom ICS rom. Works for me
Go into settings/display/horizontal calabration.
Please hit thanks!

that wont help. As I've said, im on ICS rom and horizontal calibration is not in the settings. I tried gps status but didnt work either. I'd like to know how to calibrate it with emulator.

Well if you go back to gb and calabrate then go back to ice that might work. Unless of course you tried that already. Make backups in TB first if you don't want to lose anything.

BUMP for those experiencing the same issue.
Bump
I've got the same problem but I really really don't want to reflash my phone 2 more times. Is there a way to calibrate? I'm currently on Cyanogen Mod 9 Nightly Build
Thanks

I dont think there's another way buddy. I've searched everywhere but nothing helps. Flashing to GB rom is the only one that helped me.

Try reflash the rom you're on then u don't have wipe, only clear cache and dalvik
Maybe format system in recovery, find it in mount/storage and clear cache and dalvik, then reflash rom
I'll be putting the new nightly in a second so I'll try that. What will happen when I format system?

Hello,
at the moment I have the previous Version installed.
Must I wipe anything when I upgrade to new Version?
Nand-Backup will be done by me. Is there a need to backup with Titanium to keep settings etc. of my installed apps?
Sorry for lots of questions by...but I'm newbie
Thanx a lot!
so...upgraded to new version. No wipe needed at all. Aroma-Installer is quite easy to use.
All my settings still there
Only thing is, that the Nova HD Mod isn't useable in this ROM.....hoping for an update too!!!
Great work!!
I'll release an update at the evening, and will also update holo themed apps.

findings
i loaded nova hd rc23-47 yesterday. Tried to update to -48 within android but the download would fail every time. If i let the phone idle, it would re-start. If i kept it going to sleep (not letting the screen go dark) it would download to 99% and fail.
Only tested for a few minutes everything seemed to work except the cam recorder which crashed.

Thank you!!!
Just installed, but now the issue with the notificaton bar not visible after reboot is there again...
After receiving a message, the not.-bar is visible again...
How could this be fixed?
Do you follow the guide and post your results?
No, not yet.
For now I use the workaround sending me a message from my wife's phone after reboot ;-)

Every time I screen capture with stylus, it fc.. Can't get to edit mode. The capture occurs fine though. Any advice?
Btw I added gallery from aosp if it matters... Didn't replace anything and working fine but COULD be the culprit.

Any other input? Somebody suggested full wipe, but I came from full wipe. Any app I can replace in system?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
I think it is because you took from aosp. Because here no problems with stock files

Tried replacing what I deleted and still doesn't work.
Can I just reinstall LPY with CF via Mobile Odin without wipe? Or safer to factory reset and just reinstall everything?

Hi I purchased a galaxy s from ebay the guy said the phone has recently started crashing I have yet to receive the phone so cant try anything yet but he says up until now the phone was fine, I have done a little research and thinking his wife updated to newest firmware which Google says is causing this.
Im just trying to get a head start on the fix before i get the phone, and was wondering if any you guys with one these have experienced this.
Would flashing a new firmware or custom ROM sort this out, I am thinking yes.
Thanks in advance
AW: Galaxy s keeps crashing stock rom?
If its just a software problem you can easily fix it with a Custom Rom

Ok I have a bit more info from the seller.
I asked him to describe his words "crashing" and he came back and said
I said
Hi could you explain the "Crash" as i'm wondering weather if it be worth the repair or just to use as parts for my one that needs a new screen and loud speaker.
What do you mean by it crashes? I.E it just turns off? or something else?

So I am leading to believe that re flashing the firmware will sort this? or a custom ROM?

My XT used to be fine: unlocked bootloader, rooted, could uninstall what I wanted...
But as some of you know, after flashing Sony's JB ftf, and following root methods, the SuperSU apk is installed, but doesn't work...
My phone claims to be rooted... but no system apps can be uninstalled, I have now realized that this is permanent. I have flashed CM10 and the deletion of system files still fails...
Thanks in advance.
P.S. Just encase you tell me to try again or that I did something wrong, I DEFINITELY did stuff how they are supposed to be done and tried many times.
Binaries are all in place and up to date (/system/xbin/su)???

Yep, checked, the permissions are also correct.
have you tried to factory reset and reroot device could be a glitch in the matrix
I noticed that I removed system apps with doom kernel and that when I flashed stock kernel the apps were still there... I thought I had this problem as well. But I removed them again using titanium and now they are gone.
One thing to note. I also rebooted my phone for the first time last night and when it rebooted I got the grey triangle thing. I left my phone overnight and now it's fine... Not sure if it's related but...

Nope did that, not working.
Doesn't even allow me to remove apps when using Doom Kernel...
Which method are you using to remove them?
Are you using titanium or removing the apks from system\app using root explorer

Uninstalling via ES File Explorer.
I also cannot delete the apks.
Then when flashing a new ROM (even after wiping everything), still no luck.

I'll use Sony's flashtool and go back to ICS, that should fix it.
I might just have to wait for the official update, things might work for me then.
Have you tried flashing supersu and binaries in recovery? You can download it from chainfires thread
Sent from my LT30p using Tapatalk 2
Or just use the pre rooted zip from timin8r in development section (stock, rooted and deodexed).
Also kernel is flashable trough zip so all you need is cwm to start with.

Yep, tried all of that, still didn't work. Very strange. Flashed stock ICS ftf, just gonna wait until the JB update is available on Sony Flashtool, things might work better then, for some reason.
I've heard about some system apps being not just in the system folder, but in another folder too (might have been data?) It's happened before that people delete the one in the system folder but the app pops back after a reboot... probably won't help, but always worth checking?

What about trying superuser by chainsDD rather than supersu

Going to try my luck with the new kernel with recovery.
EDIT: No, still not working...
Thought about formatting all partitions and sdcards, and then flash ftf , boot, flash kernel with twrp, boot, flash superuser and/or update.zip?
