I noticed the 3 dots tweaks has been removed from the tweaks.however is that possible to run apps in full screen without the three dots at the bottom?
Add this to your build.prop and reboot.

I read that tweak dont work on 4.4
But i have on viper 4.0.1 this tweak and it works fine
Doesn't matter I added it right at the end. Working for me on 4.4.2.

I don't use the ROM but i think it is an option available
you can choose to have the three dots or not
settings----> display,gestures&buttons---->home then you get 2 choices.
the one with "swipe up for google now, press and hold for menu" is WITHOUT 3 dots

Recent apps doesn't work. When you double tap the home button, nothing happens, for me, at least.

The new HTC One has been released. However, only 2 visible button is presented. Home and back button. So do anyone know how the HTC One to access the other functions like "Multi-task" and "Menu" ? Is the "hTC" icon in the bottom of the phone also a functionable button?

From what I just read, double-tap on home brings up recent apps. Not sure about the menu though...it probably uses the 3-dot menu standard in ics and above.
If you ask me, I'd say they should've ditched the buttons or whatever they're called and just put some extra screen real estate and give us a software/onscreen navigation bar.

Double tapping home gives you the recent apps while holding down home will launch you to Google now. I'm not sure about the menu system. Its probably the 3 dot system like the above post.
Yes no one seems to know how to access the menu.
Access menu is the 3 dot on screen, just like htc one x

Extremely late but NEVER knew this or saw it posted anywhere else. Thank you!
I know there are some tweaks here out there that map the menu key to the back or home button, and remove all in app 3 dot menus. I would like to use the back/home buttons as menu buttons, yet keep the 3 dot menu only in apps that have it built in. For example, I would like to see it in app in something like Play Store, yet not add the black bar on the bottom for something like Facebook and Angy Birds. Is there any way to do this?
Also besides for mapping the menu key to the HTC logo, how can I deal with the lack of a menu button in AOSP based roms like PA and CM 10.1?
Anybody?

To remove the bottom bar add this to the end of the build prop using a file explorer.
qemu.hw.mainkeys=1
Save the changes and reboot.

Yes, but that removes the menu button in apps.
Is there a way you can only remove the black bar? Without removing in app menu buttons?
Well, what about changing the number to 0 ?

I don't understand. If I set the build.prop entry to 0 there's just a permanent black bar at the bottom. From what I understand, setting it to 0 enables the navbar. But I decided to set it as 2 just out of curiosity. Now there is no black bar and there is a 3 dot menu in all apps.
Since I'm using bulletproof kernel (double tap htc log for menu) I do not need the on screen menu button. Anyone figured out how to remove to get back some screen real estate?

I am pretty sure the option to disable 3 dot is in the aroma installer when you install the BP kernel.
EDIT: Just checked again, Yes the option to disable 3 dot is there when your installing BP kernel.
Flash tranquil rls4 it has the option to remove 3 dot menu, as well as a ton more options.

MoDaCo was also able to get rid of the thing for me using the long-press back as menu option.
Is it possible to add the option of hold for menu on the GPE version, and would that take care of the 3 dot menu as well?

Look for gravity box mod for xposed. that should take care of what you asked and many other useful tweaks..

If anybody is wanting to use lmt pie and hide the soft keys for good, the tried and true method still works. Add qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 to the bottom of your build.prop and voila.
Thanks. Nice to have the extra screen space.

I just noticed this too. I hope someone knows how to fix it.
Don't have my phone yet, but if you disable the soft keys, how do get to the home screen from within any app (since the back and home keys are the soft keys)?

If you're using LMT then just add a menu button to the pie.
So I disabled my navigation bar and also lost the menu option in some apps. I found an app called All In One Gestures on the PS and it works very well.

Thanks! I was using something else for PIE that did not have a menu option. I switched to LMT and now all is well.
This is by and far the best app for this:

Can also swipe up to unhide and set options etc.. Use in combination with LMT

I'm using this too and really enjoying it. The extra screen real estate is awesome, and I like being able to have custom themed navigation buttons.
Darn it
When i bought my nexus 6 it was...unlock bootloader, remove encryption, root, install twrp, turn down dpi, remove navbar, and install pie lol.

I don't know why but for some reason after Chrome updated the hiding soft keys build.prop edit started crashing my phone - giving me Google Play Services errors. Wasn't until I put the soft keys back that it fixed the problem.
I have been doing this to all my nexus devices.
