Just curious
If I were to flash another regions stock ROM (EG not Australia) and installed a custom ROM over that, would that mess up the baseband?
Kinda need help because I need to reflash this ace and its stuck in a boot loop (Friend tried to flash CR without root rights)
Thanks:laugh::laugh::

[Q] Rooting Samsung I9001

Hello.
I bought Samsung Galaxy S Plus from e-shop 2 days ago but it came with orange home firmware 2.3.4 I9001BVKPB, which is without TouchWiz. Some people adviced me to flash the current firmware with I9001XXKPS Android 2.3.6. Before flashing, do i have to root the mobile? If i access the recovery mode after flashing, will it recover the old 2.3.4 firmware? Will i lost warranty? If i unroot the mobile, will i have back the warranty?
Sorry for these noobie questions, i am new to this.
Edit: Does this firmware I9001XXKPS Android 2.3.6 support Czech language?
1. Read the Flashing FAQ.
2. You don't have to root the phone if you are flashing stock firmwares. You need to use Odin in the Download Mode to flash the device.
3. You could flash to any version and revert back to original shipped version anytime provided you know what you are doing.
ya you will lose your warranty but you can flash back to a stock firmware and they won't even know you've flashed a custom rom or rooted your phone
How can I save my current stock ROM before user other ROMs? Thanks!

Warranty will be lost, if you do anything with the phones software or hardware, if you unroot nobody would recognize/notice it. If you dont need a new room, just root the phone

[Q] Changing from CM10.1 to stock rom?

Hello
Just upgraded to a Note II and have sold my Note 1. The new owner wants stock rom, root and unlocked bootloader. Is there any guide for reverting? I could probably just flash a stock rom trough CWM?
I'm just a little concerned about the earlier problems with breaking the storage part on the phone.
you can use odin to flash a stock rom.

[Q] Flash Stock Rom

Can anyone here give me simple starter instructions to reflash my vodafone htc one with international or EU stock rom
I dont want a custom rom just a non vodafone official rom from HTC,( EU or World)
It is SIM unlocked and Bootloader locked.
Can this be done without rooting?
Just switched from Samsung where it was easy to switch to a different rom by flashing without rooting voa odin...is there a similar way with HTC?
nope. you have to unlock bootloader, root, and install custom recovery

Rooted with towelroot.What next?

Dear all,
I have rooted my device which is running 4.3 (c5502) (build number: . 101) with towelroot. Now i need to install any custom ROM. I came to know that it requires to install recovery first before flash any ROM. I stuck there..Can you please guide me. I didn't unlock my bootloader yet but I had my TA backup with me.Thanks in advance guys.
whatever u need to know is already there. just search for it. if u expect to be spoonfed then you really shouldn't mess with your phone
The thing is, do we really need to unlock boot loader to flash custom roms, or can it be closed just with root and recovery?
No one tryed it till now I think.
Greetings.

Yes for flashing custom Roms the bootloader must be unlocked and a recovery must be installed however if you want to flash a stock based Rom unlocked boot loader is not needed. Just Root and Recovery needed for flashing the stock based Roms. Correct me if i am wrong.
