I download my schedule from my email every week. Thing is, the pdf disappears from my phone after two days, without fail. I thought maybe it was all downloads, but I've got a pdf of a remote manual I downloaded in Chrome from a few weeks ago as well as pictures from a reddit app that didn't disappear.
I thought maybe it was my file browser (ES) so I uninstalled it and tried Solid Explorer. Same issue. Interestingly, this issue occurs in both the stock email app as well as the gmail app. I have different accounts (both gmail) associated with both.
I've restarted my phone, but that does not help. I think it might have something to do with Download Manager or the Downloads app, but I have no idea how to test this or to change settings. Can they be disabled safely? Does anyone have any idea what could be going on? I don't have any space saving/clearing apps, nor have I ever installed any.
EDIT: NM, there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to what is saved and what isn't. Everything I downloaded last night has been cleared from my downloads folder. Not even 24 full hours. Perhaps the reboot clears it? This will require further testing.

All,
I know there have been a bunch of threads about market errors and how they've been solved. There's been the vendor_preferences.xml solution, the wipe everything solution, the infamous "log in with a new gmail account" solution, etc.
However, my concern is that I am wondering if I'm the only one out there with this specific problem: SERVER ERROR ON DOWNLOADS PAGE OF MARKET. (and it's not intermittent...it's every time all the time).
I was able to solve the problem with not being able to install apps, and the infinite "computing..." error in Manage Applications, by just backing up my Sd card and reformatting it. I Think the .asec files in the sdcard from 'pre-release' Froyo builds were messing up the attempts to load and compute applications. With a clean SD card I am now able to download and install apps with no issues. I'm also now running FRF91 rooted.
What I have NO solution for is the Server Error on the Downloads page, and I'm just wondering if anyone else is experiencing THIS SPECIFIC Problem. Because none of the other market 'fixes' I've seen have solved it, and after trying every ROM from 2.1 through Froyo, rooted and unrooted, xml files, build.prop fixes, wipes of every kind and doing so in various orders, different gmail accounts, etc, I have come to the conclusion that it MUST be a Google error with my account, as the Downloads page comes up JUST FINE with a freshly created gmail account on the same ROM, but not with my primary Google account.
If anyone has been experiencing THIS SPECIFIC problem and has seen it go away on its own, or has fixed it themselves by some miracle of tweaking, please let me know. Google doesn't seem to be answering questions these days in the Market support thread, and I am looking for any evidence at all this is a fixable problem on OUR end, vs. waiting for a Google server-side miracle.
Thanks in advance,
Randy
Hello everybody.
Since i updated to overcome 2 RC1, i recognized two bugs, that i did not have before.
1. When trying to update Thinkfree Office, it shows me that an update is available. But when downloading it, it forces to close the process com.tf.thinkdroid.sstablet.
2. Its not possible to show and implement google calenders for calender weeks and holidays in the normal stock calender app. Just my own calender is available. Synchronizing is enabled.
Flashed Overcome Rom exactly step by step as given in the tutorial with GB safe stock before overcome. Only difference was changing sales code to DBT directly after flashing and before restoring Apps with TB.
Do you have any suggestions how to solve these things?

Uninstall thinkoffice first, then download the newest version, this happens to me on froyo with a couple other apps.
I dont know whats going on with your second problem
Yeah what nautious says about thinkfree. Now as for your calendar, I had a similar issue but it was with the HTC Glacier, what fixed it was reflashing the full rom resetting your profiles again. But before doing that just make sure that in settings, accounts and sync, click on ur google acount and make sure calendar is ticked so be sure it is being synced
So I tried to synchronize my calender several times, deleted and added again the weekdays and holidays calender in my google account from the pc. But it all didn't work.
Finally I have to flash the ROM again but I wait till next release of overcome. It's not such a big problem cause I don't use google for personal calender, this one is stored on my tab. But it feels "bad" if something do not work, that worked before.
According the Thinkoffice prob:
I recognized that my version 2.0.1220.1 is the same as in the market. So maybe it is just a fault in the update routine of Thinkoffice.
Besides that i do not know how to install it again because the version in the market is not for free for me, although the full version is installed on the samsung tab. But i don't want to pay for it. In samsung market i can't find the app.
So i will ignore this problem too as long as my documents will work with thinkoffice.
But another question:
I succesfully implemented my shares from pc with cifs manager. I can open the mounts with es explorer but video in SD Avi are extremely stuttering as well as Mp3 are also stuttering. Just photos can be viewed but with a relatively long loading time.
Is there anything i can do to improve the performance of cifs mounted shares? I already tried to activate stagefright with the tweak manager but that caused the poblem that no video files could be played. So i disabled it and my videos from sdcard are playing well. Using the stock video player and the built in one of es explorer.

My SDCARD gets filled with thousands of PicasaImageTempXXXXX.tmp files, I'm guessing it's the cache for the gallery regarding Picasa Online Photos.
How can I move the location of those files to the .temp folder for example, because it's just annoying and taking a lot of time for any file explorer to open the SDCARD.
Any idea, I searched and the only answer I got is just delete them, but they get recreated (duh) every time I start gallery process!
I don't want to delete them, I understand the need for a cache folder, only want to move them to a non intrusive folder!
I get files too. Didn't know how to get rid of them, so I disabled Auto Sync for Picasa and just deleted all. It doesn't sync anymore but at least there is no ton of unwanted files.
I have to report that after updating firmware to V10E Euro Open, the files don't appear anymore... I still have Picassa and google sync on... but after deleting the files, they stay dead...
Probably it was a firmware bug... Previously I had V10B Orange Romania.
i have the same problem after firmware updation to v10f. But i managed by stopping picasa sync off
Ah Google+ stuffs...

don't think it's related to google +.
Have this issues 2 times recently on V20n (without G+ application).
Try to reproduce but without success for the moment...
Humm i always turn off picasa sync since google+ released because all your g+ photos are stored @ picasa web album. Maybe google now integrates picasa by default. I dunno what for since i never upload my pic to it. Maybe for upcoming features.

Think it's related to sd speed increase application.
Disable it and uninstall it and problem seems to be resolved
After i installed G+ app on Froyo, i am to having this problem.
I know this is old, but there seems to be no solution and I'm facing this thing with Marvelv3.0 ROM... so, anyone have a clue?? already delete them but they redo after a while, unsync everything but still there... and the thing is I only have like 30 pics at G+ but the SD generate like 2.5k files... I'm tired of deleting and deleting every time...
BTW that didn't happend with cm7
I don't know still what is causing this problem, but it seems , that I managed to fix this by wiping the data for gallery and something else, can't remember what ATM, but I don't have the files now... Lately there is only one picture, but I didn't bothered to delete it from fear that the bug will return again...
Got the same problem But now its fixed
I've got 4000+ temp files on my sd card. of that picasa thing.
This happens because every time you open your gallery it will sync to your gmail/google+ account. if its not sync correctly it will give you temp files every time you open the gallery.
So my suggestion is let the gallery sync to you photos on the google+ if you want you pictures on G+ to show on the gallery by using wifi/3g/4G or un check the background data on the "settings. > Accounts & sync settings".
Maybe this helps.
BTW if you guys want to try this make sure to delete first all the picasa temp files on you sd card to know if it works.
I installed the 10A EEU and began to appear as well, Picasa is not installed on my phone.
I am using X-Rom 2.3.1 and have issues trying to do anything in the Gallery or Google Photos app. Trying to copy, move, and sometimes view pictures throws an error saying it has stopped responding. This happens about 3 or 4 times for every picture moved, and it is frustrating. I've tried clearing Media Storage and Download Manager's , restarting the phone, and even disabling Media Storage. Disabling Media Storage worked, but I could no longer access the Gallery (which defeats the point of even trying to solve the error to begin with.) What should I do about this issue?
Edit: So I've gotten the error to stop appearing by using Simple Gallery instead of the Samsung Gallery. Simple Gallery is a better app anyway, so I don't mind using it. However, the thought that I am putting a band-aid on the problem doesn't sit well with me. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. I've tried basically everything a Google Search will find and no amount of cache clearing, app preference resetting has been able to fix it.
Edit 2: I apparently had some file in my downloads folder that was refusing to be read. I backed up the folder and deleted it and it works now.
*SOLVED*
Deleted whatsapp images folder which had null images in it and now it works. Weird thing is I don't have folder backup on and what does that folder have to do with getting my photos?
I have had a lot of devices including the Zenfone6 before the Zenfone 8 (8/256) I just got and I have never had any issues with Google Photos.
On this device however Google Photos does not work.
It is stuck on "Getting your photos..." for days without getting any photos what so ever, and without getting my photos it can't start to backup my new photos.
I have tried
Rebooting
Updating
Uninstalling
Installing
Clear Cache
Clear Storage
Turn Off
Turn On
Restart
I uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times but it does nothing. I also monitor transfer speeds and I can see that it isn't doing anything. My network is fast, around 300/50 speeds so this should be more than plenty to load some low res previews.
And best result I got was that it got about 10% of my pictures before just getting stuck again.
Without Google Photos the device for me is not usable.
I am using Photos since day one and it works well. Sounds like you may have to check all app permissions if they are set. Additionally finish the process of other Google apps like Store, services, mail etc as you might have missed some access allowance somewhere.
And it will not hurt to update the phone with Today's new version.

I have finished all other google services. I have given Photos all access and data access for wifi and mobile. Also if I would have missed something it wouldn't explain how I once got like 10% of my images, which I know after last reinstall don't get again.
Installed latest update. Checked all settings
I have no power savings on, unlimited data allowed. Wifi or Mobile makes no difference.
Unlimited Mobile data usage set for Photos. But it just doesn't do anything.
Due to some MFA applications I need daily I can't factory reset without it being a hassle for a lot of people without having another phone.
So what's another good small Android phone in 2021?
So After deleting my Whatsapp Images folder it started working. The odd thing here is that I don't even hav Folder backup enabled, for any folder none the less for the Whatsapp folder.
This is obviously a bug in Photos where it checks folders.
Not sure if this helps, but on my Pixel, the Photos doesn't always sync up new files that are externally loaded (not taken through the camera). However, if I open the Files app and browse to the folder, it gets refreshed. This might help someone as I spent quite some time trying to get the app to recognize the new files.
