[Q] Omni 4.3 - Cannot boot after ROM installation - Galaxy S Advance I9070 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone,
I have searched the forum and have not found any information on my problem which is why I'm creating this thread. If I have missed some earlier thread please do point it out and I'll delete this immediately.
It is the first time I attempt to flash a custom rom (I'm not even sure I'm using the correct words). I read the instructions on
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2555445 and followed them. I did read in the forum that the first boot will take a long time, 5 to 10 minutes. It's been about 40 minutes since I rebooted my Galaxy S Advance and got that sleek green android face. However my gt-i9070 just sits there, blinking at me ...
I don't really know what to do, is this expected? If anyone has experienced this please tell me what I'm supposed to do.
Thank you for your time,
Vassilis

Well, I rebooted did a factory reset, cleared the cache, and dalvik. Reinstalled the ROM and afterwards the phone booted to the new ROM. At first I didn't have WIFI but after a reboot everything went fine. Problem solved !

Stuck on Registering after Unrooting

hi everyone. i've been following the forum here for awhile and finally decided to root my brand new NC. i autorooted from 1.1. i saw some things weren't working so i quickly decided to unroot back to factory settings. i unrooted by unregistering the device and turning off the power 8 times. my NC boots up fine, but it gets stuck on the "Registering your Device" page and just remains there with the circle spinning. i think i left it there for more than 30 minutes and nothing happens. has anyone experienced this before? if so, how did you fix it? any help would be appreciated.
sorry if this topic has already been asked - i tried searching but didn't find anything on this specific issue. if there's already a thread, please feel free to share the link with me. thank you!
EDIT: really need some help here... i tried to fix it myself (i know i shouldn't have) and might have made it even worse. i tried to re-autoroot my NC but just completely failed. it was not loading anything anymore, so i tried to unroot again by powering off 8 times. when i restarted, everything looked normal, except the bootloader screen was not stock. it brought me back through the normal tutorial and same thing with it getting stuck on "registering your device". could someone please provide a thorough walkthrough on how to reset to factory settings? i'm seeing all these threads throwing around all these acronyms that i don't understand. seems like i need to try running some clockwork rom but not even sure how to do that. please help!!
Bump, i have just encountered this problem and i need help as well.
Update:
actually just figured it out and heres what fixed my problem, i wasn't doing the factory reset part only the 8 reboot interruptions.
hxxp://nookdevs.com/Flash_back_to_clean_stock_ROM
Thanks for your post, even though no one ever helped. I was having the same problem and doing a clear data/factory reset from Clockwork Recover booted from an SD card did the trick for me.

[Q] need help: galaxy sl keep on auto restart on its own

i have a galaxy sl and after flashed with XXKP9, i face auto restart problem and it occur every 5 minutes and then i flash it with XXKPH, the problem still the same...can anyone help me?
after flashed, i install go launcher ex ,would it be the problem?
or i shud flash it back to the original rom? how to do so?
1. did you follow the flashing guides to the letter?
2. you just flashed a firmware so you should know how to flash back to a FROYO stockrom, just download one and follow the guides...
3. "posting as much info as you can" is your friend (how did you flash?, what EXACTLY did you do?, did you do a factory reset before flashing? did you get an error message when flashing etc etc)
4. go launcher should not be a problem, i use it and works like a charm
5. a LOT of people flashed KPE/KPH here and almost none had issues, so im sure you made a mistake somewhere
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=I9003+XXKPE+bootloop
EDIT: just saw you also posted in the other thread
Follow the guide under my signature. That should help, Also please avoid making new topics that doesn't relate to the [DEV] section.
sorry for the late reply..
i follow exactly your guide while flashing my galaxy sl from step 1 to step 18.
i dint factory reset before i flash but factory reset after i flashed.
after that, i flash it again for CWM "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15681160&postcount=1"
it works great within 7 or 8 hours after i flashed... but after tat it started to force restart on its own every few minutes ...

if you are sure you did it all right, since rest of us dont have that problem it might be hardware.
I faced this problem and Service Center said that my memory chip was damaged. Should you come to Service Center for checking...
hi guys,
i have been following this thread for the past few weeks since i bought a second hand galaxy sl..i never thought that i will be encountering this kinds of problems with samsung..anyway to cut the long story short, ever since i bought this i was having a problem with a kernel panic mode error...then updated it into a GB 2.3.5 then later encountered an auto restart error and a boot loop error...after several tries of flashing different kinds of firmware none of those has solved the problem...i later came to think that the problem came from a faulty motherboard...i was helpless and i had no choice but to just bite my nails since my phone no longer has any warranty and replacing the motherboard is so expensive...then yesterday when i was going through with different forums about android..i found out that galaxy ace users are facing the same problems as well...then finally i found a solution to stop this unwanted restarts to occur...i downloaded the app LoadMonitor and WIFI Keep Alive.
For LoadMonitor you must make sure that these settings are applied.
-Add Notification
-Auto start
-Set the update interval to your preferred interval
-Wake lock
For WIFI Keep Alive
-Set your WiFi Policy to "Always On"
- Under "Advanced Options"
- Select "Enable Workaround 2"
- Enable Debug Logs
The downside for installing this apps is a increased battery consumption..so far from what i have observed I can use the phone for 6 hours straight without getting any auto-restart problems. Hopefully this will be a permanent solution while I save up to buy an iPhone..I will never buy any samsung phone again.

[Q] Installed CyanogenMod 10 - how long to wait on first boot?

Hi,
I've just followed steps to install "CyanogenMod 10" on my P7310 tablet and was wondering how long you usually have to wait on the first boot?
I've been 25 minutes so far, just wondering if there's an issue or not?
Thanks for any advice.
First boot takes a while due to Android building the cache, but not 25 mins. Sound like your flash went awry. I had an issue with CM10 not getting passed the animation when I installed it the other day. A factory reset + cache + dalvik and reflash fixed my problem. It should take less than 5 minutes if it's working properly.

Maybe you forgot to do factory reset and format /system if came from other rom?
I'm having this problem as well. Did you ever find a solution?
Edit: Never mind... I didn't format /system. Once I did everything worked fine.
I had this problem as well, just held the power button and after a restart all worked well.
Same here, didnt start till I did a hard reset.
Can't get CM working on my TF101. CM9 can't turn on both wi-fi and bluetooth, CM10 is never leave the boot animation screen. Each topic I can fing with google says that I need to do Factory reset, but I DO it, did it many times and nothing helps. Maybe there's something debug build where I can see what's going wrong?
Fixed my problem. The problem was is in wipe actually, CWM Touch didn't wipe the data, formatting /data/ was too fast and it couldn't umount it. So I used CWM to wipe and CWM Touch to flash because CWM couldn't mount /sdcard/.
Where should I send bugreports?
CyanogenMod is...stuck?
First of all, that NOOB video! Wow! I think I'm in the right thread for help, and I'll try to be brief.
My husband recently Rooted his Galaxy Note II (US Cellular). Tonight he tried to put the CyanogenMod onto it...it has been loading now for a couple of hours, which I have read is a bad thing. It just stays on the screen, and the blue circle spins around. The power button won't do anything, nor will pulling the battery or sim card, as soon as you put them back in, the circle starts again.
Can someone please help a MAJOR NEWBIE to all things dealing with rooted phones to fix this disaster? The phone was too expensive to be a paperweight!
Thank you so much in advance!

You should head over to the discussion thread for your specific device. People there will be more familiar with problems and solutions for the note II.

[Q] when you turn it off you will never turn it on again

Hi guys,
I've been looking around a bit but unfortunately I did not find any solution to my problem
Well, I'm a newbie and I got my desire c last december.
Basically since I got it, I've been flashing loads of different roms and never had a problem with it.
Yesterday, I wanted to try the cm10 and I started having difficulties: I got a bootloop after flashing it.
I said "no problems", I tried to reflash it and got the same..then I decided to change rom.
When I changed I had no problems at all..well till I decided to turn off the phone.
Here is the situation I'm stuck now: no matter which rom I decide to flash I always report the same problem, when I turn off the phone I'm never able to turn it on again (when I turn it on I can see the htc logo and only a black screen after)
how can I resolve that? Please I need some help

I'll suppose you tried clean flashing. Check which kernel you are using.
You need to use CM10 kernel for CM10 and Sense for the Sense roms.
If its the correct kernel, try a lower clock frequency.
If you havent tried clean flashing:
Dirty flashing can cause a lot of errors so i suggest that you perform a clean flash.
If you get this error again, you should try to post a logcat using adb. There are guides on how to do that all over the web.
I hope i helped, and if there are any further questions, ask away :3
ommicsiy conduted
thanks for the answer!
well actually I did a clean flash..
and it can't be a matter of kernel since I tried different roms with different kernels and the problem is the same..
tomorrow after work I'll try the logat and post it
since I was not able to do it trough adb (-waiting for the device- for about 30 mins..)
I flashed again a rom and used catlog.
here is the outcome!

[Q]Help me with this particular N910T

Hey folks, first thread ever, I really need help with this troubled N910T, DOK2, Android 5.1.1
Whats wrong with this phone:
The contact app will stop everytime I open it, since contact app is combined into Phone app, so the Phone app will also stop everytime I click on it. However, the situation will be fixed if I change the locale to English. (The phone belongs to a Asian friend)
One of the instant message app, the Wechat, similar to Whatsapp Messager and Facebook Messager, will not receive any kind of notification, at all.
The phone's battery drop from 50% to 1% then turn off itself in minutes.
The last two problems may be unrelated issues to the first one, and that is not the main reason I'm really here. I have ODIN flashed the latest firmware over 10 times and all THREE of the problems still exist after all that.
And whats bothering me is that ODIN flash firmware WILL NOT FACTORY RESET this phone, that doesn't make any sense to me. Please let me know if I make a mistake about that, because every other phone or tablet I have worked on before will always be factory reset after flashing a OEM firmware.
I have also flahed TWRP and wiped everything from the System to the internal storage and reflash the firmware but the problem is still there.
sort of things have been done to the phone may have something to do with the problems:
installed the zips I got from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...pt-touchwiz-bloating-script-222-apps-t3258537
it debloated the phone.
the phone was lost in a rainy day, found again two days later. Remote lock and wipe preformed via Android Device Manager but the wipe process never go through.
Please let me know if the phone is worth saving at all, I have spent days in this phone fixing and researching for solution. I found no similar issue around here, and the phone is out of warranty.
Thank you and please let me know should I throw this thing away.
Battery needs to be replaced. Are you sure you flashed right firmware for 910t not 910t3?

It's a N910T, and the ODIN sucessfully passed everytime but will not factory reset the phone,.
Have you tried going into recovery and factory reset it yourself

Many times already.
If you haven't done so, you may want to do a clean install which means wiping system, data, dalvik and cache at least three times in custom recovery such as TWRP. Then you can try ODIN baseband, bootloader, rom and kernel (if rom doesn't contain one), custom recovery. Next you boot into customer recovery again and do a factory reset and that should do it. Let me know if that helps.
