Hello,
I did not find any answer for my question and I'm not sure wif this is the right place to ask it.
I'm looking for an android app, which enables an android device to acces to the internal memeory as well as the external SD of an Samsung Galaxy S III via USB without unmounting the external device, similiar to windows explorer.
Is there any app which can provide this function.
Best regards
Dietmar
there cannot, and will never be such an app.
internal storage can never be accessed via mass storage. and the external storage has to be unmounted

I think you are wrong.
When i connect my SGS3 or my Samsung Galaxy Tab to a Windows PC via USB i get on the Samsung device the message "Connected as Mediadevice" The external SD as well as the interal memory are still acessable on the Samsung device. On the PC the Samsung will be shown as new folder in the foder "Computer" (in german langange pack) See attached image.
On the PC i can access both the internal memory and the external SD without unmounting the on the Samsung.
The Winows Mediaplayer can access both as well.
I'm looking for an android app, which can provide the same. If i connect the Samsung to an other android device which hast USB Host I get the mesaage on the Samsung, the there as no application on the connected device found which is able to use the Samsung as media server.
yeah, that's the MTP protocol, and you're asking for mass storage

Thank you for your answer.
Is there an app which can handle the MTP protocol like windows is able?
I found a lot of apps, that can change the USB mode from MTP to mass storage, but this is not what I want. I'd prefer an app on the device wich is USB Host, that can handle the MTP protocol.
probably not. you can always search though

Hello,
I connect the S5830 to pc, and I can't find the images / videos from the gallery.
I can view the gallery from the phone itself.
When I connect it to pc it shows that only 800 MB are available out of the 4 GB sd card, which means that about 3 GB are in use but still, the gallery is no where to be found, and even when I try to copy all the files from the phone to PC, only 60 MB are transfered to my pc.
I tried to put the micro SD inside a SD adapter , and plugged it to the pc card reader, but same files appear (all the folders from the phone without the gallery)
any idea how to solve?
Thanks

The problem is there is no DCIM, it's like everything is hidden
*Edit : I finally copied all the gallery to PC, I did that by moving the SD card to my galaxy S3 and from there the gallery did show up, I don't know if it's problem in the galaxy ace or in the SD card ..
If your SD card is mounted by Windows you can't access data at the same time on your phone so that's why you can't find the DCIM folder.

This has happened to me several times. I used to backup apps using es file explorer but they didn't show up on connecting to PC. The fix was, flashing stock via Odin & then rooting back. Don't ask me the reason, I donno why. But this should fix it.

sorry, but no. I imagine Amazon uses a similar technology like Netflix. you cannot access downloaded videos without root. those videos, which aren't gonna be in a mp4 or any video format anyway, are stored deep inside the amazon folder in the root system. you need root to access them.
