Title says it all. I want what everyone else does, maximum protection and minimal bulk. I've narrowed my choices down to these two because they're not too big and seem to offer good protection, especially around the screen which is lacking with a lot of other cases. So if anyone can weigh in, I'd appreciate it.

Just wanted to add since there's a 125 views and no comments, I'm really looking for comments on the drop protection. I liked the spigen slim armor a lot but after watching the drop test, I don't think the lip around the front bezel is big enough. So between these 2 which do you guys think feels less bulky? Also wondering if the incipio translucent color is actually translucent, kind of like the back of the puregear, I couldn't tell in any of the pictures. Finally, which one feels the best. Thanks

It's looks like you've already have all the info and your questions have already been answered more than once, just browse between the threads and you will find all the info you need
The Incipio has a decent lip and doesn't feel bulky. It feels sturdy and premium. The translucent blue isn't clear, it's just a tad see thru. And add for the other colors - the gray doesn't look that great with a black g2 - the pink I can't say as I've never seen it in person - the black is solid black and not translucent.
I feel like I'm praising the case to much. But it's such a ridiculously great feeling/looking case.
That puregear is a nice looking case, but I bet the back of it will scratch a lot over time.

It reminds me of the ringke fusion for nexus 4. I hate that case. One of my most regretted cases ever. Lol
LG G2
the back of the pure-gear case has a couple risers so the the back doesnt get scratched as much. As for protection go with the Brig since its TPU it will have better shock protection. T-Mobiles website has the brig on sale for like $9 right now too
Took credit for my $9 find in the other thread? Lol

The Incipio case looks like a TPU case. I have the Diztronic TPU case and it is nice. But I don't think it will give great drop protection. There will be some but not great like a Otterbox or Ballistic case. The pure gear case seems to have some more side protection from the pictures, but hard to tell.
I also have the Ballistic Aspira case and love it. It's a little bulkier but feels good in hand and not huge. The paint is slick feeling though. But the rubber edge gives good grip. It doesn't attract dust like silicone cases. Plus there is extra protection in the corners, which is a huge plus for me. It is still pocketable. It is my everyday case. I use those durable screen protector like bodyguardz.... Think it is extreme something brand. The Ballistic Aspira case works well with it.... It doesn't lift up the screen protector. Unfortunately the diztronic case does lift up the edges of the screen protector.
I would recommend you check it out if you haven't gotten a case yet. Good luck in your search.

UPDATE
Just wanted to update everyone. I went to the T-mobile store to check out the Incipio Brig and it just wasn't for me; I didn't like the checkered pattern on the back at all. I'm friends with one of the sales guys there and he told me I needed to check out the Tech 21 D30 Impact Shell case they had for the G2, so I tried it, as well as every other case they had, all of the other Incipio's and the G2 window case plus a few others and I really liked the Tech 21 case. So... that's what I ended up with, it seems like it has great protection and isn't too bulky, plus the videos on the D30 material look awesome. I'll post some pics when I have a chance.
Here's a link to the case: http://www.t-mobile.com/accessories/lg-g2-d3o-impact-shell-smoke.html

I was interested in that case but couldn't do the smoke color. Clear would be sick looking though.

I've seen this case for other phones in clear but I can't even find a place online to buy it for the G2 and smoke was all they had. Clear would have been really nice, but I still think this looks good, hopefully I don't change my mind!

Today I took receipt of 2 Nillkin Hard Cases for the GT-N7100 Galaxy Note (One brown, one Red.)
I bought them from eBay for around £6 each delivered, the quality is surprisingly good, I wasn't keen on having a TPU or Soft Silicone case, or the flip case that I had for my original Note. So I thought I'd give this one a try.
You can see that it comes well packaged, not just in an envelope as is usually the case from Chinese suppliers of such products.

It also includes a screen protector, I've not yet fitted that, as I already have one fitted that's in good condition.
As you can see from the next set of photos, it doesn't really add a great deal of bulk, which is another reason I didn't want a TPU or Silicon case.
Granted I can't see it protecting the phone from a massive fall, but I wanted to keep the svelte lines as much as I could, whilst adding some grip, which it does nicely with the texture that is on the under side.
The fit is really snug, I had reservations at first, but once it's fitted it doesn't move at all, so I have no worries about it slipping off.
All-in-all I think it's a really good product, it adds protection from scratches for most of the phone, whilst not being too bulky, just enough thickness to save the camera lens from getting scratched when you put the phone down.
So if you're looking for a case and have similar requirements to my own, consider giving this one a try.
thank you for your return
Excellent review and photos, its a shame the case doesn't cover the top and bottom of the phone .
i just made a thread about this, but yours is nicer so....
I didn't like the fit at ALL until I just removed the back cover from my note 2 completely.
I don't really care about NFC so I'm okay with this. I like having a bit more lip too.
I find a couple of the edges a bit sharp. meaning if I hold the phone in landscape, my index fingers get scraped a little bit by the case edges.
I might sand them down or something.
The texture on the case is quite nice - pretty subtle but noticable when you hold it.

I know what you mean, but at least it looks uniform all the way around, I had a couple of flip cases, one made by a company called Tenda, great case and had a similar hard back to it, that case did cover all the edges... except for one corner, it would have looked a bit daft if it didn't have the flip screen cover.
But because of the material, I think it would be a nightmare taking it off, if it did cover every edge, as because it's really stiff, you need some leverage when you do want to remove it.

It might just be the batch you've got perhaps, I've just been around both cases, both on and off, and there are no sharp edges, in your case, a small nail file or wet'n'dry should do the trick.
I think I know what you mean about the fit, I too was a bit cautious as it "almost" sits flush with the screen, but there is a bit of a lip and I've shaken the hell out it and it's going know where haha.

I'd be more inclined to go for the one you've found, for that added protection, I have ordered a aluminum bumper and a flip case which I'll probably post a review about, unless someone already has.
I might buy the one you've posted about too lol.
Yeah I'm on the case hunt too. Already bought the S-Line with kickstand just yesterday. I also really like the look of the one I linked to above. I'm interested in this flip cover too , which I really like for its corner protection - should be protective enough for most falls and no magnet involved to interfere with the s-pen.
And worst of all, I don't even own a Note 2 yet. Crazy or what?!
Anyhow apologies for hijacking your useful review thread

Kidding aside, those are supposed to be of a very high quality material and fitment. The guy behind these (Scott) put a lot of time and effort into research to make a perfect case with a slim fitment and drop protection. Based on reputation of their S3 cases this should be a good one as well. Will know more for sure once I have a chance to review it.

Thanks for your great observation. I think you missed that it's a 2 piece case.
The Ultra has a hard outer shell made of polycarbonate and some other voodoo. This outer shell offers far superior protection than just TPU alone.
If my girlfriend's S3 survived multiple drops on concrete, I'd say it's much more durable than just TPU.

That's cause you are in NYC and you guys got smoother concrete. Here in Jersey we got swiss cheese potholes lol!!
But in all seriousness, you guys know I reviewed a ton of accessories on this forum. Also, I heard a healthy buzz about these cases for a few months now. Obviously that got my interest considering Scott has posted in this forum before in great details about process of his material selection, fitment testing, and all other stuff that goes along with it. I also heard a lot of work went into packaging details as well. That got my curiosity for sure. Once I receive it, I will do my usual detailed review and give you my honest opinion about it.
The polycarb he uses is actually flexible. It disperses the shock better. You can actually fold rhe PC part in half without cracking it. It's not standard PC I forget what its technical name is but it's very close in chemical make up to the PC they use in fighter jet cockpits. It's almost like a polycarbonfiber instead of carbonate. The fit is also very nice for the price. Theres no play in the case when it's installed and the tpu acts as a shock absorber between the PC and device. They have the fit and slimness of just a plain tpu but the protection of an otterbox defender minus the built in SP.

Question
I am interested in buying this case but I don't like cases that stick to my pocket while pulling them out. Does this matte case have any problems?
I notice that there is a line/indentation around the back of the case - does this trap dirt/lint? I am wondering why they placed it there in the first place.
Thanks.

It goes in and out of my jeans pockets with no issues. If you wear skinny jeans, then I can't help you. It is remarkable to me how little dirt/lint stick to this thing. It is made of hard but flexible rubber, I haven't found anything sticking to it. Keep in mind, its a barely bigger than the phone and it does push up my screen protector in the lower left hand corner. My Spigen case didn't do that, but it made the phone feel huge to me.
Thanks!
Thanks for the info. What kind of screen protector do you have? I have purchased Invisible Defender (screen protector) and diztronic case. Hopefully they wont cause huge problems.

It's just a cheap clear one from Amazon. This case really hugs the screen, it adds almost no width at all. Its not really noticeable unless I look for it, I wouldn't think you'll have huge problems.

Spigen cases always seem to add unnecessary bulk, especially width to phones with their cases. And their colored plastic backs scratch and swirl like crazy.
They are extremely overrated and overpriced imo.

It's just a cheap clear one from Amazon. This case really hugs the screen, it adds almost no width at all. Its not really noticeable unless I look for it, I wouldn't think you'll have huge problems.

Got a link and pictures?
Can someone test something out on this case for me?
Are you able to stick 1 Credit Card and 1 photo ID on the inside of the back of the case? Will the case stay on and clip to the phone?
I am doing just that on my current phones case and would like to know what cases I can replicate this on.
Thanks in advance!

Just got this case today and I have to say it's really nice fit is perfect you could fit one credit card in between the case and phone and its kinda tight

Very nice. Where did you get a gray one?
Does it seem like it could absorb a drop?
I'm using the black one for at&t and it has the correct mic hole openings and all. The op's pics didn't show the at&t version. Just an fyi.
Amazon just emailed me, my Verizon Diztronic Matte TPU case just shipped. Should be here by this Saturday or next Monday.
That lip on the back seems like a weird design choice... i have loved diztronic cases in the past, so I'm sure i'll order this.

At least on the Verizon version there is no lip. It is just a smooth back.

Got my case for the Verizon G2 yesterday, another excellent case from Diztronic. Very nice fit, good texture, face protection and very slim.
Great value at $12.XX shipped.

Agreed.
Got one for my and the wifes phone....she prefers my Ballistic case (go figure) but the Diztronic is excellent and not bulky.
I might try the Incipio DualPro to see how it compares to the Ballistic.
Another shout out for diztronic. Perfect slim fit and just enough case for me. Mine surprisingly arrived in the mail yesterday. Great case at a great price!

Can you do side by side pictures and post them?
Just ordered this today!
For everyone wanting to get a screen protector that fits with this case, the Supershieldz screen protector from Amazon doesn't get in the way of the case if installed well (AT&T version).
What are the thinnest Flex cases? Post pictures if you can. The only issue I have with the Flex if you call it a issue is that I don't want to hide the curves. lol I want the thinnest case. Might just have to go with a full body protector.
thanks
get this one bro; super thin, great grip ridges on the side, and it fits like a glove..

You have it? I might get the clear or red one. I guess a mall has cell phone shop that will like shrink wrap a protector on any phone/tab. lol I might take a look at that today.
yeah, I have the red one..its super thin, just like you are looking for..
problem with those shrink wrapped type skins is that if you drop the phone on its edge, on concrete, they wont keep you from chipping the phone...

Post some pictures of the case on your phone if you can. I just wanted something that will make the phone not as slippery with limited bulk possible. I'm not going to say what I want to say for the fear of jinking myself. lol

I will later today, after I exchange this defective phone...but trust me, this is the slimmest, thinnest tpu type case you could imagine for this phone..
I ended up ordering that case and another one yesterday. I guess I didn't need to start another thread.
Sorry mods.
sorry I forgot to post pics; got busy restoring the phone all day yesterday..
Trust me, if you wanted a thin, unobtrusive cast, you bought the right one..what other case did you get?

This one. Only a few bucks so what the heck. A local mall has a invisible shield store and I wanted to have them install one but they said it might be a week til they get it. Might buy one online and have them put it on. I'm kind of picky and thinking they might not stay on with a curved phone as well though. I've had clear plastic cases that don't add much bulk but that's not happening with a curved phone. lol

I had one of those on my one maxx; its OK, for a cheapo, but not as flexible as the other one you ordered..
for the price, its worth having around.
BTW, I had installed one of those skins on my flex; it was ok for a few days, then it started to come up around the round corners, so I don't know if one is good for a rounded phone like this. I am good at installing these things, but I couldn't get it perfect...
I'm still thinking about getting LG flip case. I know it's pricey but the discount helps and it provides good protection. Don't think you need a screen protctor with that case.

MPERO FLEX S Series Protective Case for LG G Flex
It's ok and doesn't add that much bulk. I don't think it fits like it should on my Flex because I have a Otter Box 360 on. I think I just want a pouch to put my Flex in when I go golfing.

Feather Shine
So I just put the Feather Shine on - it's a nice case, and looks pretty good. There's a strange thing, however: the corners on the front are shaped/recessed in such a way that when the phone is lying face down, the phone's top and bottom edges and corners are in contact with the table. I would prefer if the feather shine was what was touching the table.
I'm very curious about the Vest thing that LG has on their site. I can only find it (so far) from Korean vendors on eBay, with 3-4 week delivery times, so I haven't pulled the trigger. It seems to be minimalist protection, focusing protection exactly on the area I am concerned about: the front corners and top and bottom edges of the phone. Does anyone know someplace in the US that's selling these?
Thanks!
I have the quick window case. It's a nice design with nice patterns and such. The only thing I didn't like was that it really doesn't stand up to scratches much. It makes a nasty scuff Mark on the front of the door where it hits the back of the phone. I bought a vest from overseas last week for $20 on eBay. We'll see how that goes.

Not sure I understand the scuff mark. So the vest case overseas is the same as LG's but you save 40 bucks? Send me the link. Thanks

Hey Guys,
I have decided to just jump the gun and buy the Tech 21 D3O impact shell from the T-Mobile store. The case ended up be $10 and something cents. I bought it at the store and they gave me a 30% discount for checking into Foursquare otherwise the price of the case is $16.99 not including tax. The case can be purchased online at: http://www.t-mobile.com/accessories/lg-g2-d3o-impact-shell-smoke.html.
I currently own 2 cases including the case I have. I have this case and the Spigen Slim Armour. I love both of the cases but I do prefer this Tech 21 case. Both cases are well built and will definitely survive a fall. I have not dropped the case, but I feel like the technology behind the case will definitely protect it from a fall. I currently have the xtremeguard screen protector on the phone and the case does push the screen protector up, but the lip of the case covers more of the screen than the Spigen case so it doesn't have the problem as often. The case has an awesome feel to it. It has a matte feel and offers more grip that the Spigen. The case is also rounded so it doesn't feel like it is cutting into your hand. I personally bought the smoke version, but there is a purple version available. The case looks awesome with the orange bands going around the circumferance of the phone while the rest of the smoke color of the case allows you to see through the back to see the G2 symbol. I do own the AT&T D800 version and it has the cut out for the 2nd microphone on the back. The case feels like TPU with D3O that surround the phone.
Hopefully this everyone. If you are looking for a new case, IMHO this is a case to consider.
Here are the pictures that I was going to post.

Thanks for the review. I have thought about this case. How would you compare it to a tpu case. Looks like one except for the orange band which seems to be the D30 technology.
Also how thick and bulky is it in comparison to a tpu case.

It honestly feels like a TPU case with the D3O tech like you were saying. I don't own a TPU case for the G2 but I have had TPU cases in the past and this stuff feels a little more flexible but it still maintains its shape when it is on the phone. The case fits nicely and it looks good as well. The case actually doesn't add too much bulk. It keeps the shape of the phone and is slightly thicker than without a case. I feel like it is definitely not as "bulky" as the Spigen case as well. :good:

I also had the Spigen Slim Armour as my first case for the G2. But I also got the Tech 21 case, and although I still like the Slim Armour case, the Tech 21 is better for me as the edges are more rounded and it's a little less bulky than the Slim Armour.
I keep my college ID card in the back of my current phone case, so I like cases that are easy to take on and off. Is this one easy to take on and off?

The case is easy to take off. But you might run into the problem of the case not fitting properly. The case is pretty tight on the phone, so the case might not be happy with you. I can try it out and see if I can get a picture for you.

Here are the pictures. The case is a little funky after the id is put in. It is definitely not meant to be there but it could potentially work. I put my school id and it is the side and thickness of a credit card. Hopefully this and the pictures help.

Thanks, I really appreciate it. Could you tell me how easy it is to take the card in and out of the case? Does the case come off easily without being dangerously loose?

I would say that the case is a little harder to take off. The card is also pretty snug in there. The case also barely hangs on too. The case definitely adds space between the case and phone.
