[Q] Galaxy W (Wonder) ROM

Can we use Galaxy S Plus Roms on Galaxy W? They have same specs : Processor(Snapdragoon MSM8255T), Resolution(480x800), RAM (512MB). So I think we could but I wanna ask some developers.

It has a 3.7 inch TFT screen (SGS has AMOLED)
MSM8255T 1.4 GHz Processor (SGS has Hummingbird)
Adreno 205 (SGS has PowerVR SGX540)
I cannot see how they are the same at all; but at any rate
DO NOT TRY TO FLASH ANY I9000 ROM/MODEM ONTO YOUR PHONE!

He meant The GT-9001 Glalaxy S Plus that uses the Scorpion SoC and has a 4" SC-LCD. Even so i doubt it's possible without some modification.
Yes I meant Galaxy S Plus. And I wanna ask some developers to start developing roms for Galaxy W. It's a good phone, very fast, and I think it deserves it's own section or at least a thread here in Galaxy S Section!
Oh, right sry; that makes more sense.

Samsung Galaxe Ace duos(gsm+gsm) S6802

Does this phone and the galaxy Y duos etc has a separate GPU like the original ace (not the 'i') or is the CPU is modified to do GPU calculations. Some people say that it has Videocore IV of broadcom as it's GPU but I don't think that's the case. This is what I've found that Ace duos and Y duos Both of which use Broadcom BCM21553 as cpu
Note that I found no mention of videocore IV in these phone, by samsung or by broadcom and also so please if anyone knows the correct answer please tell me . In the gsmarena review it has been said that the Ace duos is using a cheaper chipset that the usual Qualcom one found on these kind of entry level phones.
I could not post link as I am new to XDA so it prevents me from it hence I've attached a zip containing screenshots of the details that I've found on the matter from pda.net,broadcom's official site etc............ nothing more nothing less
BCM21553 VideoCore 4
its using BCM21553 VideoCore 4 ARMv6 Based on ARM Cortex-A9
max display = full hd
and is used in Samsung Galaxy Y[2][3][4] Samsung Wave Y, Samsung Galaxy Mini (GT-S5570i), Samsung Galaxy Ace (models 5830i/c
gt-s6802/m and 5839i),Samsung Galaxy [email protected] (GT-B5330), Vodafone Smart 2 (Alcatel TCT V860)

Galaxy Grand Duos will be using a Broadcom chip (android 4.1)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=ZuNOCh-zetA#t=368s
Looks like the Galaxy Grand will be powered by a BCM28150 chip, it is armv7 so I'm not too sure of the things we would gain out of it
But since it runs android 4.1 and still has a Videocore IV GPU, I think we can still get some useful stuff out of its firmware
What do you guys think?
R: Galaxy Grand Duos will be using a Broadcom chip (android 4.1)
Galaxy SII Plus will use a Broadcom chipset....
Inviato dal mio Nexus 7 4.2.1
Quad-core POWER
well lets hope broadcom and samsung to work on S5830i too
One good thing is that....new and bigger devs will start working on broadcom chips. If thats the case. We can ask for their help in many cases.
Sent from GT S5830i from Broadcom Headquarters.
even 2 year old galaxy s2 beats the recently released broadcom powered dual core s2 plus in benchmarks - so no high hopes for this one
why fix it if it ain't broken ?
HOPE....
lets hope this will gain as anythng useful..............................damn samsung for this condition
I also heard that galaxy s2 plus has terrible GPU scores.33fps while the original s2 can do 55 fps.Same old Video core 4 gpu.Does that really serve a purpose?
GT S5830i-Rocking on Broadcoms gpu...
I think we can get something usefull from it, but not much. Let's hope that we will have a working wifi\bluetooth\gps\etc. from it.

I am not sure about this except in linpack and glbench egypt 1080p offscreen, SII Plus wins quite decently
source: GSMArena Preview
And in linpack GA quotes they suspect some linpack issue.
I'm also interested in Galaxy Grand Duos recently released in India. Since it too is suspected to be on broadcom I was searching and found this
^its a good buy nevertheless quadrant scores are impressive . Moreover sunspider and browsermark looks promising as well . Only multi threaded benchmarks come out bit disappointing but i don't think there will be any noticeable performance differences in real life
