i don't see external sd card in settings or in any file manager, but i see it in recovery.
i have CWM 6.0.4.4
and i just fresh installed cm 11 first official nightly.
i have 32GB class 10 sd card
is this i'm doing something wrong or a fault in cm nightly?
i tried to click on mount sd card in settings menu, but it doesn't work.
i see sdcard1 folder in es file manager but that is empty, but my card has got data on it which i can see in recovery.
when i connect my phone to pc, it only show internal storage.
is there any solution for it?
Please, before asking question, check the CM thread first.

you are not in the right place
Does the camera works man,i think your sd card will work gradually it's just a nightly version give some time to improve.
camera is working at my first look
Exactly the same problem here. Everything works well except for the following features:
- SDCARD (32 GB here) does not show
- Privacy Guard freezes and it shows the status icon even if the app that uses it has been closed
No other bugs so far. Everything works with iodak v9 kernel.

Hi Guys, just flashed my O2X with CM7 and it worked fine but for some reason its not detecting the internal storage. What happened is that I followed the instructions, saved the zip on my external sd card and then flashed it. Did I do something wrong?
Heyy could you say what CM7 version you are using? Plus it sounds like you did everything fine.

Nope, you did it right.
Sounds like you haven't used CM7 before, it's easy to think the internal SD is gone, but it isn't. CM7 by default mounts the external SD-card as /sdcard, where your internal card used to be mounted.
The internal card is at /mnt/emmc.
There is an option in the settings somewhere where you can switch them around (don't have CM7 installed at the moment, but just search in the CM7 Nightlies thread and you'll find lots of info about it.)

I think you are wrong, i am on CM7.1 and by default my internal sd card was in mnt/sdcard and external is mnt/emmc. Now I use FadeFX 1.6 update, which changes this to internal sdcard - mnt/sdcard and external sdcard to mnt/sdcardexternal_sd as it is on samsung ROMs..... (for this you need to check this feature in settings you mentioned) ....

Ok, they may have switched the defaults around since the last time I tried it. Doesn't take away from the main point of the post though. Mount points are different in CM7 from what people are used to, and confusing if you don't know about it.
But only external sd is different... internal it is the same, isn't it ???

No, I was right. (Just installed the latest nightly)
External card mounted as /mnt/sdcard, also reachable from a symbolic link /sdcard.
Internal card mounted as /mnt/emmc.
default install.
Because This feature was introduced from nightly #148 or something .... And he installed CM7.1 wich is nightly #144 I am on this too, so I know how it was after installation.

Nonsense. It's been like that since nightly #1. There were however KANGs floating around which switched mountpoints, you may have used one of those.
Thanks for the info guys...yes this is my first custom ROM and my first CM so sorry for being noob LOL
For some reason its now working. What I did was rebooted my phone, removed the external SD, and it somehow assigned sdcard for internal storage. Rebooted the phone and put back the external SD, and its now emmc...weird but it works now. I just have to move my apps all over the place

No i was on stock... I was reading nightly thread.... This is the way that I understand :
Before nightly #149 thing was fine, but after this nightly users must check option "use internal storage" and then everything works fine...
If i got it wrong, i apologize.

Quick question as I'm sort of a AOKP noob.. I installed Build 30 over my CM9 nightly.. doing a full wipe and what not. My question is there a stock AOKP kernel? Cause right now, I get the At&t screen>CyanogenMod Kernel screen>AOKP boot animation when starting up and my kernel version still shows that from CyanogenMod.
Is there an AOKP stock kernel for Captivate? Cause I've yet to locate one. I've since moved onto IcyGlitch, but would like to use the recommended kernel. Thanks!
build 30 came with CM9 kernel.
build 31 + will come with glitch.

It may be a retarded question but I can't find the answer either. I have the same problem. Only happens with AOKP. I'll raise it again because it hasn't been answered (here).
With build 28 of the AOKP I couldn't see my external SD card when I connected to the PC. I saw the internal SD but not the external SD card. Reading reports I saw that people flashed the Icy Glitch kernel and that fixed their problem. Around the same time Doc's V6 build was out (that also used Icy Glitch) so I switched over. That fixed the SD card issue. I went through subsequent iterations of Doc's V7 and V8 and never had an issue. Before loading a new build of AOKP I loaded all my music to the external SD card. When I came back to try out AOKP's build 31, I had the same problem with not being able to see the external SD card. (I should mention I also loaded the AOKP essentials mod)
Interestingly when running music it finds the music on this external SD card but I can't view the files with ES File Explorer.
I read up for solutions but I haven't found one. Looking in the FAQ on the AOKP site I don't have a "Settings/ storage/ menu/ usb computer connection/ MTP Fast charge enabled" (old answer or am I blind?)??. I don't have Fast charge selected in either ROM Control/Performance settings or in NSTools settings.
When installing I always wipe cache/data and do a factory reset. Strange I can see the external SD in recovery mode but only when I select "choose zip from internal sdcard" ???
Any thoughts on the problem?
After finally getting rid of stock LG Froyo, I'm running the lastest CM 10
Everythings fine except most apps cannot detect external SD
Using File manager I've found in root /sdcard/ and /storage which contains /sdcard0(I assume internal) and /sdcard1(my external)
My gallery and camera app when started will say No External Storage then close.
I've tried ICS Binder- Fails after reboot when used
Lots of apps cant detect the external SD
Does anyone have similar problem?
is there a fix??
Thanks!
-Dan

I just flashed the newest CM10 Nightly using CWM. Same problem D:
I noticed a strange problem after installing CM 10.1 RC1
many files from the internal storage are gone, for example most files from clockworkmod directory, some are there but the most are not, when rebooting to CWM thay are there, also when restoring original ROM they are also there.
whats going on?
i met this bug as well if you use your PC to manage your files.
first, some files shown in SD card are actually belong to internal storage
if you try to create file, it may shown in other part later.
so just use root explorer as base standard

I will look at the zip to see if it needs to be modded and get back to you.
Edit: You were right, there was an assert error in the zip. Fixed in rev6 now.

Hi,
Ok that installed ok but still having issues: on boot all apps and processes crash (stop responding) when unlocking the nook if I clear cache in cwm it boots fine and I can see that the swap has occurred internal still shows 5gb but is actually my 32gb sd card. However I can't side load any apps I get an app not installed message even though unknown sources is ticked also as soon as I reboot the nook its back to square one and all the processes and apps crash.
I never saw any instructions for installing this i simply flashed from cwm recovery. Is there a set install order or process for this maybe I'm doing something wrong? I.e. does it need cm 10.2>sd swap>gapps all on initial flash? The only thing I can think is I'm installing the sd swap after I have installed a few apps
Cheers for the help,

Remember this is a kludge, so everything does not work perfectly. I have found that sideloading apps from one of the SDs (I can't remember which) fails. Just copy the apk to the other one and try. And the setting storage shows wrong.
But I have not had apps and processes crash. If you have apps that were using internal for media storage, you may have to move their media files from internal to external. Like you say, you may want to start fresh with CM10.2, gapps and swap before you install any apps.

Hi,
ok I cant seem to get this working. I have a similar mod on my S3 which works perfectly. I have done the following:
1) Tried it WIth 10.1 RC3. Boot to recovery wiped data and cache flashed 10.1 RC2 > GAPPS > SDSWAP on boot the swap hasn't happened if I then reboot and flash the swap again and go into storage the calculating space hangs at calculating and no apps will open when you click on them.
2) as above but tried flashing 10.1 RC2 > SDSWAP >GAPPS exactly the same results as above.
So it doesn't seem to work with 10.1 or 10.2?
EDIT: This is driving me insane lol
Ok if I flash the cm 10.1 and SDSWAP then look at es file explorer the swap has worked and apps open ok SDCARD0 shows 29GB and SDCARD1 5GB but I have the same issue as with 10.2 if I try and install an .apk from SDCARD0 it opens and displays the app permissions as normal then as soon as you click install you get an app not installed message ? IF I copy the .apk to SDCARD1 (the internal) I get a problem parsing package error. So the swap works but I cant install any .apk's

I told you that settings/storage does not work. Why try it again and be surprised that it does not work?
And I just tested it again on the HD and install fails if you try from the real external SD. But it works from the internal SD. And I get no app crashes.
This is on the 7/08 CM10.1 from verygreen. I will now try on CM version.
Edit: I just updated to CM10.1 RC2 and it works the same.

Ok Thanks for checking that's strange as it definately doesn't work for me. I will just have to use the SD Card Install instead as I only have an 8gb nook and its not enough space.
