[Q] Problems installing CM11 Freexperia - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Tried and managed to install Omni, MoKee Open sourse 4.4.2 and AOKP kitkat 4.4 without any problems. Now I really wanna try the Freexperia project rom. Seems pretty simple it´s just that I cant get into the recovery after flashing the boot.img. Tried the CM10.1 img and CM11 img but after flashing the img and tried to reboot it just doesn´t. Cant get to the recovery and don't see the freexperia logo either. Anyone can plis tell me want can be wrong??

Do you get the Sony screen at least or is it completely black. If possible re download the latest free Xperia rom again and use the mokee roms boot.Img using fastest flash the boot.img then flash the freexperia rom worked every time for me if u still encounter an issue go to the official cyanide mod page CM11 official nightlies are available give the latest build from there a shot

Forgive my spellings autocorrect is still settling in
Fastboot*
Cyanogen*
If the free Xperia boot screen doesn't show up it means the boot.img didn't flash properly further more if you flashed the rom and the free Xperia screen still didn't come that means either you flashed it wrong which I doubt or it is a bad zip..... Therefore re download and try

Dont get the Sony logo on the screen either. I'll try the mokee img didn't occur to me. But was thinking about using the flashtool application instead of going thrue the commando tool. Yeah I think the problem that it didn't flash properly, but it's strange cuz I tried it like 10-12 times but
still can't reach the recovery and the screen just stays black and the red light is on. Any other suggestions??

By red light is on what do you exactly mean, is it on when you try to turn the phone on
and yeah it looks like your only option is flashtool, considering your able to use fastboot
i am guessing you will be able to get into flashmode, just flash back to stock and then you may
try copying on the rom and then using fastboot to flash the mokee boot then flash the cm rom
hope this helped

Sorry with red light I meant that when I after flashing write reboot in the command prompt and the phone tries to reboot just the red led goes and the phones stays in that position. Doesn't go on to the sony logo and so on. I've got the MoKee rom at the moment should I still flash back the stock rom or can I go right from the mokee rom and I use It's img to get to recovery?!
Thanx / CJ

Thanx man now it's all working just great, was some dum mistakes I did, thanx anyway, cheers

[Q] Xperia Z1 is recognized as "togari", Z Ultra

As the title suggests, I rooted my phone, unlocked BL and was about to flash CM for Honami, which is Z1, but the flashing of the ROM was stopped because it recognizes my device, a Z1, as a "togari", a Z Ultra. I find this quite odd as I have practically no idea why it does that.
I also tried flashing "togari" CM ROM, but that also fails.
Any fixes for this?

if you are sure that you have an z1... then just remove the device check in the updater script (within the zip...) it is in the beginning... cant really remember how it looks but ... search google perhaps.. then it will flash weird enough ... my s also identifies as an sl... but that is from the build prop

Haha, yes. I google for it and tried to simply delete the device check in update-script, but it didn't work for me. I believe the issue is in my recovery, which is not a 4.4 kitkat recovery. The CWM-recovery I have at the moment is 6.0.3.6 and I believe that is the reason for my issues. I have had no luck trying to find a 4.4 kitkat recovery... any tips here?

I tried this recovery too, without any luck: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=49966299
To begin with I got Status 7 error, which is now gone.. I found a tutorial to flash SlimRom for Z1, which is android 4.4.2: http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/android-4-4-2-kitkat-sony-xperia-z1-available-via-slimkat-rom-1432702
However, I was only able to make emergency calls, no cellular at all. I flashed CM through the same method and everything I tried worked, except cellular. Thus, I had to wipe it and install stock Sony firmware.
After that I tried flashing CM the "normal" way through recovery and everything installed as usual, but when I push reboot to reboot the system, the phone simply shuts off. Even if I press the powerbutton to turn it on, it only vibrates and nothing else happens. Again, I flashed stock firmware to be able to use the phone again...
I am very confused about this, because it does not give any errors. It simply does not work :l

- power off the phone:
- hold vol+ and plug usb to boot into fastboot (blu led)
- fastboot flash boot boot.img (from cm10 zip)
- fastboot reboot
- enter recovery, on boot led will be violet for 3'', during this period press vol+
- flash rom zip
- flash gapps zip
- wipe
- reboot
for update just flash rom zip from recovery
Google Apps are not included in this ROM. You'll need to find those yourself if you want them.

[Q] Black Screen after Sony Logo

Hi everyone, Im new here I'm from z2 forum.. Im posting this in behalf of my brother..
He got his phone softbricked I think.
He flashed ftf kernel 230 to root his 4.4.4 xperia z and returned it back to its normal kernel.
He then flashed NUTs dual recovery and flashed existenz rom 3.0 but i think he made a mistake he flashed a flashable zip of recovery to maintain his recovery, he thought it will disappear after flashing a ROM.
Then it wont boot, after the sony logo, it is stuck at black screen. It wont boot on its recovery..
Does flashing stock ftf will recover his phone? thanks in advance guys!

Yup I revived the phone using flashtool, but it seems that the existenz rom is the one making the black screen. again after flashing the rom black screen pops out.

stuck to teamwin logo

I've installed novafusion maclaws cm12 5.1.1 through ODIN folowing steps on his site, and I wanted to do factory reset from menu in phone but my phone got stuck in to blue-black stripes with "teamwin", it is just blinking screen every 2-3 seconds...I've tried few more times to install again CM12 but without success, every time it is the same I can get out of "teamwin2 screen, any solution for this problem? Need phone, only that I got now
Reflash the stock rom via odin
Sent from my GT-S7390 using XDA Forums
didn't help I've downloaded stock rom but when I import it in ODIN via PDA I get notification that md5 file is invalid or something like that.....one more thing md5 file that I downloaded is ending with .tar I added after that .md5 is this ok? It shows me that .tar is winrar archive which when I unzip get some files but not one with .md5 at the end
Somehow after zillion tries I installed CM12 and now the problem is how to install gapps ? When I get in recovery mode I got it like this (first photo on that site):
http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/use-recovery-mode-android/
I downloaded gaapps and copied it to internal storage of phone, what should I do next, how to access and install gapps?

That's a stock recovery, u need to flash the custom recovery and then flash the gapps from SD card or internal.
P.S.: u need to flash the gapps and rom at the same time. If u do it separately then u will be in big problem(worst nightmares).

U can get the twrp.tar file from here:
https://dl.twrp.me/golden/twrp-2.8.3.0-golden.tar.html?_e_pi_=7,PAGE_ID10,8537289601
But I m not sure whether this is the latest version or not so do some research and then proceed.

U can try any cm ROM that has made for ur device. U just need to download the respective recovery for that. For the battery life u can download a custom kernel respective to the ROM. Or try any other ROM.

I m using pac-man ROM.
Here u can find the list of kernels with their specifications:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...ernel-collection-kernels-roms-s3mini-t2810435.
It would be better if try out the overclocked kernels.
Remember flash the kernel which belongs to the respective android version. Don't flash lollipop kernel to kitkat ROM or vice-versa. If u need help, @Android-Andi can help u in this case as he too has the same device. U can get the pacman ROM for ur device easily (made by novafusion).???

Maybe the problem was that you booted first and then flashed gapps or maybe that you flashed 6.0 gapps over 6.0.1?_?
Try flashing a stock rom with the user data option checked (you will lose your stuff)

So, is it working or not?
If yes, please flash the stock 5.0.2. Install Xperia Z dual recovery, there is a script that installs dual recovery with just one click. Just connect the device on the pc, enable developer options, enable usb debug and allow to do its thing.
When running the script select option 3, 5.0.2 without root.
After you install the recovery, you can flash any rom you want from there, just make sure to do the correct wiping before and after. happy flashing

Could not find any tutorial, here is the manual though : http://nut.xperia-files.com/html/xzdualrecovery-manual.html
Anyway you can follow these simple steps:
1. Flash stock 5.0.2 ftf
2. After phone boots, enable Developer Options and from there enable USB debug
3. Connect phone to PC.
4. Assuming you have Windows, Download the Recovery installation Tool here: http://nut.xperia-files.com/?ql=ef9a86aff9041bf1734fc9e3afe75f084d655774
5. Extract, hit the Installer and just follow the instructions from there.
For more info check the official thread about XZ Dual Recovery here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2261606
If you need help ask, but make sure you quote me so I can get a notification.

I cannot see any official CM builds, if you like any Rom in the forum, please write to that thread because I'm not really sure.
If you want to experiment, you can! Because if anything goes wrong you can always use flashtool

Yes, there are official builds but those are Nightly - which means they're not ready yet for everyday use but only as test versions.
You will not have a fully functional phone because there might be many bugs in those Roms.
Here is a Rom I personally use and find very nice: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/development/rom-official-sony-lollipop-5-1-1-t3196237
Thank you !
