Same exact issue as described in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2366663
Except I downloaded the latest version of SuperSU (1.86 I believe) and when I went to flash it in TWRP I got a "Failed" message, so it did not fix my issue like it did in that thread. I'm running TWRP 3.6.0.0 and Android Revolution 31.6, on a Sprint HTC One. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Try flashing CWM recovery instead of TWRP. SuperSU should be able to correctly update the binary using CWM recovery. That worked for me, at least.

Sorry I had a brain fart, that is the versions of TWRP that I'm using. And I fixed the issue by reflashing using Superuser, but now am having issues with Sense 5 Toolbox and Xposed in general. I think I'm just gonna have to switch ROMs.

So I'm all updated and happily running 4.4 with TWRP as the recovery. Only issue I have is I can't get root working. I've installed the SuperSU 1.72 zip a couple times, but once I boot into system, no root. Anyone encounter similar issues?

Appreciate the help, but that was the method I originally tried. Followed the steps, flashed TWRP with no issue, installed the SU zip, booted back into system and no root. Not sure what I am missing.

Whelp, who the hell knows. Just said screw it and flashed all the parts 4.4. Didn't wipe data though. Redid the recovery and just let TWRP root and all shiny now.
I managed to get TWRP 2.7.0.0 using AutoRec. I'm trying to get it upgraded to version 2.8.x.x but can't do it manually using adb or with TWRP manager, or any other methods.
I'm trying to install CM11 and it fails every time, from what I've read, I need a higher version of TWRP to achieve this without getting the error executing update binary in zip msg.
Anyone else running into this problem?
Verizon LG G2
VS98026A baseband
4.4.2 stock rom
EDIT: One thing I noticed, the only versions that show up as compatible using an app like TWRP Manager are the one's labeled with g2vzw
Example - The techerrata downloads for twrp
All the downloads that work are the g2vzw downloads. All the new downloads labeled vs980.zip won't work. I've tried renaming and still have the same problem.

Hi Everyone, I am Pushkar Dua just wanted to share a rooting guide for Nexus 5 Android 5.0.1
As many people Reported that Root has stopped working after the 5.0.1 Update or previous Binaries lead device to Boot Loop,
Please Download Latest Binaries That i am providing here: http://download.chainfire.eu/641/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.40.zip
And flash it with TWRP recovery..
Please Use TWRP Version 2.8.1.0 as people reported some problems in latest 2.8.2.0 version.
Downlaload TWRP 2.8.1.0
Please note: if you're having a problem with twrp 2.8.1.0 asking for password..
Please use twrp 2.0.4.5
just reboot to system and you will have root access..
Watch the video for more info and Please Hit thanks or subscribe me on youtube to support me! every bit will be strongly appreciated!
Please Leave your questions BY QUOTING ME
Thanks
Thanks To @Chainfire for making this!
Original Thread for SuperSU : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053 Root Nexus 5 Lollipop 5.0.1
Hey!
Thanks a lot. Really helped solve my problem!
No problem
This doesn't belong in Development.
Actually i am not sure where should this be.. I'd request modders to please move it to the correct board!
Thanks man!

Since you've probably lost your custom recovery upgrading to 5.0.1, you can grab the TWRP images for Nexus 5 here: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/hammerhead
I believe you need to use 2.8.1.0 since 2.8.2.0 either doesn't work or is causing problems for many users.
CF-Auto-root is still OK. I just tried

Isn't CF-Auto root adding files from the 5.0 release over the 5.0.1 ? Isn't it safer to wait for a 5.0.1 autoroot?

How did you update from a rooted (with CF-Auto Root) 5.0 to 5.0.1 you just received the OTA and installed it without any problems ?
I like to know because i am on 5.0 stock just rooted with CF_Auto root.
So no more need for CF-Auto?
Just flashing SuperSU zip with TWRP is enough?
I flashed a Custom Rom Using TWRP which doesn't have any root permission...

Yes... Just Flashing with TWRP Is Enough!
Guys, i installed the 5.0.1 update by fastboot flashing system, boot and radio. I lost my custom recovery tho (CWR). I now tried to install TWRP, but after flashing the recovery image, the recovery still hasnt changed. Could i just flash CRW or should i use TWRP for this version?

This. I flash with it here since 4.4.4 and it did everything just fine. Not only it is an app to automatically root, but it gives very good hints, and provides lots of others features like installing Apks, getting a adb prompt, and so much more. Greatest third party Android app I have tried. Highly recommended, didn't even had to wait they update it for 5.0.1, as soon I got the 5.0.1 OTA notification, Nexus Root Toolkit was already ready for it.

This is lollipop security, custom recover wouldn't stick, after each reboot it will replaced with stock one, of course there is a way to make it sticky just search the forum.

That's always been enough. You can use Cf's auto root if you don't want to use a custom recovery.

I have an HTC One Remix that I just recently s-offed using Sunshine. After flashing TWRP I am attempting to flash the su binaries through TWRP, but it doesn't seem to be working correctly. TWRP doesn't report any errors, but after rebooting my phone, there is no indication that the binaries were installed, and the SuperSU app cannot find the binaries. Is there something else I ought to be doing?

try flashing super user manually with trwp. find zip file and flash. works better.
SuperUser.zip (may not be latest version but you can always update in play google
Apologies, but that's what I've been trying. I downloaded the zip file from chainfie's website, but there is no change after flashing.

You should give more information like your bootloader version, recovery version, what programs have you tried etc.
Usually to root m7 you'll need:
1 - htc dev unlocked bootloader
2 - custom recovery like TWRP
3 - Supersu.zip to flash in recovery

I'll also add "make sure to use the latest supersu version" because old versions are known to cause bootloops when used on Lollipop+ roms. :good:
So i tried installing supersu with twrp but it was giving errors,I saw that i needed to wipe cache and stuff and so i did...Plus my stock htc one os.Now i am trying to install AOKP rom on my device but its giving error with the zip file and binaries
tried wiping still not worked. Please help me asap

You haven't provided any information about your phone yet, like suggested by @macicgangsta. Please post the output of "fastboot getvar all" (hide your IMEI and SerialNo). What twrp version are you using and what supersu version? What was the errors when flashing supersu? When flashing the rom? What rom version is it exactly...? ideally post a link to that rom and/or everything else you've tried to flash.
reporting problems precisely = fast & efficient troubleshooting :good:
