Hey guys, so, I got my phone which was 257.
Downgraded to 537 so I could root with kingo, then, installed dual recovery, and flashed iHackers 2.0, Worked fine until all kinds of issues started appearing. so, I attempted to go back to recovery and realised I hadnt flashed it following the installation of the iHackers Rom.
I discussed this here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2599087 - an experienced member suggested going back to 537 and starting again, so, booted up flash tool and installed 537, however, I now have a boot loop.
New phone so I'm pretty worried, hoping I can get this sorted!
Thanks for any advice!

Last night I restored my NC to stock using CWM and nook color 1.4.1 update.
It worked, and I was back at 1.0.0
I had planned on doing an upgrade to the latest B&N version this morning.
When I got up, the NC was in a boot loop installing the stock recovery, again and again.
If this had happened when I did the restore last night, it would make a little sense, but it was working last night.
I'm guessing it's stuck in 8 reboot mode and I don't know:
How it happened
or
What to do about it.
Help....
thanks,
Bob

I don't quite understand all of your post. You said you restored to 1.4.1 with CWM, yet you said it booted to 1.0.0.
In any case you can run my romrestore zip from my tips thread linked in my signature. That should reset the 8 failed boot counter and then you can flash stock 1.4.3 linked also in my tips thread with CWM and all should be ok. You may need to flash my format 5, 6, and 7 zip before you flash the stock rom.
Got it working.
Apparently the flash was incomplete, not sure why that happened.
I redid it, and it came back to stock.
Thanks for your reply.
Hey guys, I flashed a Cyanogenmod nightly a month or so back that got my device stuck in bootloop and I'm just getting round to restoring it. I just tried WugFresh's Root Toolkit to Flash Stock + Unroot, according to the software it worked but my Nexus 7 won't boot from the bootloader at all now, not even into recovery. Are there any other methods I could try to flash a stock image?
SOLVED: I flashed an older factory image using WugFresh and that seemed to work *wipes sweat from forehead*

I am having exactly the same issue. Will you pls tell me where you got the factory image & what flash/install option/method you used in Wugfresh?
Thanks greatly.
EDIT: Found images at Google Developer site- just need to know how you flashed w/Wugfresh- which choice.
I've been modding androids, iphones, and windows phones for years now but I somehow ended up to finally brick a phone.
So I was running stock 4.3 rooted on my N900A and decided to install SafeStrap 3.71 in order to upgrade to Knoxraid. I followed this guide (kind of):
http://galaxynote3root.com/att-galaxy-note-3-roms/knoxraid-kitkat-rom-for-att-galaxy-note-3/
Everything went well and I got SafeStrap but I installed the rom to Rom Slot 1 instead of the Stock Rom slot., I rebooted into the regular download mode. Everything went okay with the install but after flashing the ODIN files I noticed that SafeStrap no longer booted to the recovery menu (of course). Knoxraid installed just fine but after booting into the rom I noticed that it would soft-reboot every 20-30 seconds. I couldn't get into Settings>General>Security. I couldn't load any apps because it rebooted too fast. It was basically useless. I booted into recovery mode to try and reload the rom there. Now I just get a black screen on bootup.
I think my saving grace might be that I took a backup of my phone using SafeStrap before I made any changes. However, how can I apply that backup without SafeStrap?
HELP!!
I've done this before and I'm wondering if I can do it again
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2559715
Okay I've made some progress. After restoring the original MJ5 ODIN files in the above link, SafeStrap came up after the reboot!!!!!! Now I'm doing a restore.in SafeStrap. I should be all set but I'll update in case anyone else has the same issue in the future.
It worked flawlessly after that. I followed the instructions to the letter and now everything is working perfectly!
Well, not a singlle answer after so many views for days, but thank God it doesn't matter anymore, I was able to force the solution for th issue anyways! Issue resolved, if you have updated to 5.0.2 and have rooted your device before or after causing it to lose WiFi, please check out my solution for this issue here, it may very well prove to be your definitive solution. Thanks!

Installing the 5.0.2 OTA while rooted completely and utterly broke my WiFi. No matter what I tried, I couldn't get Wifi to work again. In the end I gave up, and just did a full factory reset from recovery. My recovery version btw is TWRP 2.8.3, and after installing the ZIP ROM update from the first post of this thread TWRP stayed, I didn't have to install it again. So anyways, I let it boot up and then rebooted back to recovery to root on recovery exit, which caused bootloops for a little while until I used Power+VolDown to go back into recovery and installed the SuperSU 2.45 zip from there. NO MORE PROBLEMS! It's just, PERFECT!!! Finally, no more long waits while booting looking at the logo, no more bootloops, and most importantly: by only using the recovery zips to root and never trying to root from the system or allowing it try to update SuperSU from the Play Store, NO WIFI ISSUES, from the very start all is just perfectly functioning, soooo smooth and really fast! FINALLY!!!!!! Really happy here, so remember, for XT1064 TWRP 2.8.3.0, and SuperSU 2.45 should really do the trick. Good Luck!

And here's the link to the actual thread that has the appropriate 5.0.2 Stock ROM flashable ZIP file:

This has probably been said 1000 times before, but, I'm an idiot.
Now that we got that out of the way, perhaps you fine folks will help a dummy out?
About a year ago, I followed this guide and was successful in all that it deals with (unlocking bootloader, root, installing custom recovery and flashing custom rom).
My phone started acting a little buggy lately, (probably because I had less than 5 gb of space left? ) so I decided I wanted to just wipe everything and start "fresh".
I went into TWRP, wiped EVERYTHING, (wipe/advanced wipe/checked everything (dalvick, system, data, internal, cache) rebooted into recovery, sideloaded the newest Pure Nexus ROM and GApps zips, flashed both. After flashing new ROM, tried to reboot system, a message appeared saying it appears I do not have supersu installed, would I like to install it now? or something to that effect.
I wiped for"yes", phone turned off, then was stuck on the animation screen (swirling/color dot things) when tying to boot up.
Hold power button down till shut off, then restarted in recovery, wiped EVERYTHING (again), re-flashed the ROM, only this time said "no" to the supersu install screen.
Phone loaded up and is running perfectly.
However, I am no longer rooted???
I wasn't aware wiping everything in TWRP would remove root.
I'm confused because as I already said, I'm a dummy!, but when following the guide, I should root, then install a custom recovery.
My question is, do I only need to concern myself with the one step for rooting with CF-Root
since I already have a recovery installed, or am I going to need to re-install TWRP after rooting and then re-flashing the ROM and GApps?
I'm sure you folks are probably sick and tired of fools like me who just blindly follow along with XDA's [HOW TO] threads without knowing what or why we are doing what we are doing, but I appreciate you all just the same!
Any advice is appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

That's correct. No in twrp - is needed when there is already a SU in the flashed rom.
Probably you have not the most recent version of twrp.
In play store there are apps to check if you have root acces.
You can also go to the launcher and start the superSU app

It always seems to be the most simple thing!
I'm not generally a stupid person, but this stuff can sure make a girl blush!
Thank you.
Worked like a charm.
Falling in love all over again with my Nexus 6.
.....makes note for NEXT TIME I have been eating dummie bears!
As NLBeev said, you are probably using an outdated version of TWRP. It doesn't ask about su any longer.
