since the release of kitkat, I've been using the MiRaGe kernel developed by mrg666. it is rock solid, lightweight, and without any noticeable flaws. the only major issue is users want the kitchen sink. may users constantly ask for many features to be added to a kernel that aims to be as lightweight as possible. My solution: add everything that i can get to merge in without too much hassle.
Kernel has been tested by me on AOSP KOT16H. It should also work on stock and other KK roms. probably not cm (cm support could be possible if there is interest).
About the name: according to the interwebs, most mirages are of an oasis or attractive women with minimal clothing. so i narrowed it down to "imaginary almost nude hot chick" and "oasis"
Features:
based off of the latest source from mrg (may lag behind occasionally. My wife doesn't like my face being in the computer 24/7. there is some saying about happy wives.... I should look it up)
Sweep2wake and doubletap2wake (disabled by default. enable in sysfs)
Gamma controls
fauxsound
kexec-hardboot
open to requests

Magpie was the name of a specific feature of my rom, but it was apparently not well known in the optimus v community, so everyone assumed it was just the name of my rom.
My optimus v rom was based on iho sources, and its main feature was magpie, so I named it iho_magpie. Using that naming scheme, this kernel is based on mirage, and its main feature is random crap, so I could name it mirage+stuff

I was going to add faux sound yesterday, but I was distracted by the spacex falcon 9 launch. It was too cloudy to really see anything, but there was a lot more radio chatter than the last one.

Hi Guys,
First of all I am not a real DEV. I see things, read things and learn from it. That's all.
I have patched Palao's kernel for my use on ICS ROM. Some guys can use it so thought to share with you.
I have not created this Kernel from scratch so haven't changed it's name. Giving full respect to it's DEV.

Right.

Right.
Franco is always better.

You cant actually call this ICS Kernel...
The one which lupohirp will release with his next ICS Beta will be considered as an ICS Kernel due to backporting of many drivers to make ICS more stable...

The backport of Kgsl driver will be hard. I don't think that we just clone the free xperia kernel source then get the patch and patch our kernel source... we still need to modify, beside , the power manager is broken...
Guys you are going high. I haven't said that this is my kernel. I even haven't changed it's name. So just stop pissing someone. I patched it for my use. It's working great for me.For the ICS name, It's for ICS ROM that's why ICS kernel.
If you want go ahead and download if not then don't. keep everything very simple.

Notice: Probably won't be keeping up with this much longer. CM has a slew of other commits, but I've only been including the two responsible for the discoloration...
Franco:
I've compiled franco's kernel with two cherrypicks from CM's github: c53fb6d134 and 07cbfb9a9c
These are required for recent nightlies of CM and its derivatives (caveat: if your rom specifically has commits reverted to not require such a workaround, then of course this isn't pertinent to you).
No changes to ramdisk or .config. Compiled using arm-linux-androideabi-4.7 from android ndk r9.
It should go without saying that you shouldn't flash this unless you understand what those commits are for and have a need for them. Those using the "colorfix" zip or otherwise reverting to an earlier liboverlay.so will find that method no longer "works" with newer builds (it spewed errors in dmesg nonstop when it worked).
IMPORTANT: Make sure you update to the new liboverlay.so if you're currently using the old one or you will have problems. Flash this on a rom that doesn't have the corresponding rom-side commits and you will of course have problems too (and I will laugh at you). As well, make sure to remove any addon.d script that you may have been using, if applicable. I don't know if there are multiple "colorfix" zips in circulation, but the one that I came across looks like it creates /system/addon.d/95-cm.sh. After deleting this file, you should be able upgrade/reflash the rom to bring liboverlay.so back up to date. Or if you're lazy/inept, wipe /system and reflash your rom+gapps.
Because of ramdisk customizations (incompatibilities) among roms/kernels, this zip will attempt to patch your existing ramdisk with franco's changes during flash. Things can obviously go wrong, so be ready.
4.4: 2013.11.29 1411ET: [franco-r195-cm-ziddey.zip]
4.4: 2013.11.25 0257ET: [franco-r194-cm-ziddey.zip]
4.3: 2013.10.26 2049ET r193: [JWR] [JSS/JLS]
-------------------------------------
Faux:
I built faux's kernel with the two commits as well.
4.4.1/4.4.2:
Faux: [030u-CM] [030m-CM]
4.4:
Faux: [029u-CM] [029m-CM]
4.3:
Faux: [028u-JSS] [028m-JSS] [028u-JWR] [028m-JWR]
Faux: [027u-JSS] [027m-JSS] [027u-JWR] [027m-JWR]
Note this is an "anykernel" and uses whatever the existing ramdisk is. If switching from Franco (or another kernel that includes a ramdisk), a "reset" kernel is recommended (reflash rom).
Built with arm-linux-androideabi-4.7, with bfd linker instead of gold.
Same as cm10_colorfix.zip?
Thanks alot! I will see if I can comment on any improvement in battery life or performance.

I haven't been able to since I used the 10/9 nightly. If there haven't been any other changes then I don't know why it won't work. I wiped data before going to the nightly on the 16th and it would boot if I didn't flash a different kernel, but if I did then it'd stay on the boot animation forever. It does that for the 20th too, although I didn't wipe data before going to the nightly.

NEXT RELEASE: 27 AUGUST 2014 GMT+8 0900
With the introduction of so many kernels in the forums, every user just wants his/her phone to enjoy the crisp experience of their device. With ASKP, you get to enjoy the brilliant works of all developers into one small kernel. ASKP, is a modified kernel that merges many tweaks together, just like P.A.C.
ASKP is only run by me and pattyboi for now. Please bear with the slow speed of updates. I'm working on 3.4 for the Galaxy Nexus and also for you guys at the same time.
I promised before, ALL ROMS WILL BE SUPPORTED. But when I say ASKP is fully released. For now, I'll be releasing slowly. So please bear with me.
Supporting Devices:
LG G2
Samsung Galaxy Nexus
Variants of ASKP released for per-ROM basis statuses: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53569650&postcount=6
READ THIS FIRST
- There's always a name in each file right? The word at the end is the most important. And of course, make sure the model number is correct.
ONLY TWO WORDS ARE GIVEN FOR SIMPLICITY. STOCK and CAF.
- CAF kernels are for AOSP ROMs. A N/CAF (Non-CAF AOSP) Kernel will also be present upon full release of ASKP.
- ASKP has just started venturing into G2's development, please be patient if there is no support for your ROM yet.
- I am not responsible for any problems incurred on your device. This kernel is not fit to be a daily driver YET. Still in pre-alpha stage.
Changelog To Be Released after Alphas.

I also want to thank him for his own build script, without it, I couldn't have built kernels as fast as before.

Nice! And the important advice for You right now: You REALLY SHOULD write which ROMs do You support and which G2 variants.
There are some ROMs based on dr87 sources like SlimKat, and Mahdi ROM itself, there is CarbonROM and PA which use other sources.
Aaand there is CM which didn't even get updated to KK sources, lol.

After this,
Releases for All devices for Paranoid.

Finally,
Releases for the next MOST requested ROM.
After this, expect features to fly in.

Amp is a well known dev in the galaxy nexus forum (last that's where I know him and his work from) he's already stated he's using Dorimanx ram disk. So telling this guy to delete his thread is a **** move.

Thank you.
But if you really don't appreciate my work, It's fine. I'll stop.
Not like I don't have other plans.
Anyways, Every development has its start. I admit. I have some dorimanx's commits. I'm reverting them currently till r5. Once we go past r5, I'll start working on pushing commits in.
If you see my development style in tuna, I do things part by part, in a systematic way.

You guys misunderstood me, meh. I didn't even say anything about the THREAD. It's the first one. The second one is, I just report to the dev what I see, I didn't say that it's a steal or anything, I just said that situation like that exists. Because i saw that there's everything like in dorimanx kernel, than maybe something went wrong with making the kernel.
Oh and about Intelli features, i see there are Intellidemand/Intelliactive govs, EcoMode, Intelli HotPlug, I REPORT it, REPORT, not ACCUSE.
Dang i hate misunderstandings. I appreciate every work and never want to make someone stop his work. Duh.
If dorimanx allowed to share everything with features he added like this now, then it's alright, I just reported in case he didn't allow it and You wouldn't see that or something.
So @Amperific keep going and sorry that u understood me wrong
Finally. We need more kernel devs. Thanks for joining the party!

Sorry. Apologies from me too.
Next few builds,
- Mitigate commits that are not needed
- Bring in ASKP's tweaks

Amperific, please don't stop your build. Coming from a gnex us users know your kernels are gold. I can't wait to try it out. I'm sure once non gnex users install the kernel they will see the magic. My request for you is a kernel that works with vanir on my d800. I'm a flashaholic so I jump from vanir, aicp, mahdi ect but just can't wait to try this bastard out??????

Guys before I sleep,
All Stock variants are up.
And I apologise about the CAF guide.
I briefly scanned through the source and realised that there are different variations of CAF. CMs, and etc. Even LG.
So all variations will be made available as well.

Do I need to go back on dalvik before flashing this kernel?
Currently i am on ART. If I stay on ART installation is the same? (wipe cache and dalvik then flash the kernel).
Thanks.

FPBug: Meet the very first stable kernel for the Galaxy S2 i9100, S2 AT&T i777, S2 Epic 4G Touch d710 and Note n7000 since Gingerbread days
Every single Android 4.x kernel for these devices has had a serious bug (FPBug) that randomly corrupts the state of processes, starting with Samsungs's stock ICS and JB and spanning every custom kernel out there newer than Gingerbread.
Please refer to the main thread for details.

lol these are cyanogenmod kernels!!!
@Lanchon thank you soooo much for all of your hard work for our device even tho you don't even own them!
Hope this is not rude, but may I ask if you plan on releasing a kernel (or kernels) for non-CM-based ROMs? Or are you planning to let them devs themselves merge the fix, and only release CM kernels?
Sorry if this was rude, please ignore me or sth if it was.
Once again, thank you for all or your hard work.
Wow thanks
Does FPBug related somehow to kitkat overheating and random reboots?

Yep, I'm cooking something right now for Touchwiz and AOSP. The fix seems to be working well, tested with the detector.

Lunchon, if i may, a paired request Could you make a TRIM + FPbug kernel, for LP ?
Wow! You're a hero, been using your kernel only for 24h, but no problems yet. One question tough, can i switch to the ART runtime when using your kernel, or should i stay on dalvik?

By lp he means android 5.0 overall. Not specific rom. Are you able to prepare lollipop kernel for community?

the fpbug should be integrated in cm soon. so i think official cm will be fixed long before cm12 is released.

Just switched to SlimSaber, i don't like CM. The developer included the FPbug fix and it runs great with ART.
XENONHD 6.0.1 FOR T-MOBILE LG G4
NOTE: FOR BEST ROM EXOERIENCE, CHANGE ALL ANIMATIONS TO 1X IN DEVELOPER SETTINGS. THIS SHOULD LOCK YOU AT A 60FPS EXPERIENCE.
XenonHD is an AOSP-based Android ROM that combines speed, simplicity, and latest technology to bring you the best Android experience possible. XHD is AOSP-based, as opposed to CM-based, which gives it an advantage in speed and lightweightness (?). You can find the link to XenonHD's website HERE.
Installation Instructions (we assume bootloader is unlocked and recovery is installed. This is XDA):
1) Download 20I bootloader HERE
2) Download latest stable build from DevDB downloads section.
3) Download OpenGAPPS from HERE (arm64/whatever package. I use super.)
4)Move all 3 files to SD Card or Internal Storage
5) Boot into recovery and take backup (backup optional)
6) Flash bootloader, ROM, GAPPS, and (optionally) Xposed.
7) Reboot.
DOWNLOADS CAN BE FOUND IN THE DEVDB DOWNLOADS SECTION

So far so good. Clean install, running smooth. Camera is working. No green lines. No issues as of now only time will tell I've noticed in other aosp ROMs within time it eventually starts lagging. Will use this as my daily ROM and report back with any issues. Great job
will there be some love for h815 ?

Unfortunately, I don't own or have an H815, and I won't do blind builds. The H811 is my personal device I own through T-Mobile.

For all, any input on which ROM I should work to support for the '11 next? Or stick to maintaining this one?

The only think I could tell you is that if you'll build Pure Nexus or Chroma for 811 and not for 815 I will suicide.... :crying::crying::crying:

I am really sorry but... I was thinking of going after Chroma. If the 811 goes well I might seek a dev that can send me an 815 to work on. My only concern is that I'm going to need to write a REALLY long dependencies file to go with all the optimizations etc Nexus roms are missing (or im just lazy).

It would be great..
Chroma and Pure Nexus are probably the best ROM in terms of balance between features and performance. But.. Are you sure that Zephik will allow someone to build for a non nexus device? I rember problems for Flo unofficial building, can't imagine a G4 build...
By the way.. It seems that I have to sell my 815 for 811!!!!

Haha since you said that I read up on Chroma. It sounds like ZephiK isn't the nicest person around. But, if it's open source I can't imagine he'd have any ammo to prevent me from building. What do you think?

I think that Pure Nexus maybe would be easier.. Dev seems to be more friendly.
Even if personally I prefer Chroma but in the end they are really similar (Kang project!!)!

That's what I'm thinking too. Really an end user can't complain about Kangs though. As long as it's not the one and only laggy buggy mess that is THE AOKP. Seriously the H811 port of AOKP is so laggy it's unbelievable. I might start Pure Nexus tomorrow then. I tried starting PAC ROM. It didn't like me.

Oh. Yeah I should put an androidfilehost link too. On your computer just above the OP there should be a "Downloads" tab.

I do too! I was also project maintainer on the CM12.1 on the G Stylo, but this and XHD will be my first projects I've done on my own. And it sounds like PN is going to present a few challenges. Sounds fun??

This looks very interesting and minimal. Might have to flash it and give it a try soon. I also vote that this be moved to the 811 section if there's no support for 815. Its not abandoned at all, just less users compared to the international 815.
