Using stock z1 4.3 software. My girlfriend has the same phone and experiencing the same problem. So I'm wondering if it's a 4.3 problem.
When sending a voice message in what's app, by pressing and holding the mic button to talk causes the audio to sound garbled, with lots of interference.
If you try it the old fashion way by clicking the paperclip icon, selecting audio and choosing what's app recorder, it's crystal clear perfect.

I use Whazzuppe and I sent many recording files but like the pictures the files are all crap, whazz downsize and downgrade the files so I will not pretend much from it. You can also try to record the message with different app and send it with Whazz anyway so maybe the recording will be better.

so you dont have any problems when sending a voice message thru what app itself by holding down the mic button in the chat with ur Z1?

Problem to send voice message I do not have but if you referring to the quality of the recording then yes, the quality is bad. I use Smart Voice Recorder and the quality of the recording is much better so I think you should not pretend much from Whazzapp. Try to record a message with different application and see if still the same like in the Whazzapp. You will see the quality is very different so the Whazzapp is the main reason of the bad recordings and you can do nothing about it.

Exactly. Cause I had no problem with what's app quality on other Android phones. So it seems to be a problem with the app itself. Hope they fix this with an update

Same problem here....
I don't know guys. At the moment I can't test it because my phone is back to Sony Center. I think should be some settings on the phone to improve the quality of the microphone but not sure if this will help with Whazzapp. Whazzapp still have crap recordings anyway.

As stated above, they all look like that. I am sure it is your headphones, loose cable internally causing intermittence. In addition are you using the stock headphones or another?
I am using the apple headphones. I have also tried the stock ones from sony.

Charging your battery might help .
GIve us more details if you want help, what ROM are you using including version, locked/unlocked, root/no root?
Also I gather that the exact same problem exists with the apple or sony buds?
Have you tried another pair of earphones

PC : Windows 8
Phone : Sony Xperia Z, locked BL, on KA06.
Playing music on Foobar on the PC. I get a call on my phone. The PC pauses the music on its own. And once I hang up the call, it resumes on its own again. 2nd times it's happening. I am sure there is some very simple explanation to all this. Can someone say what it is? It's kinda freaking me out.

It's called genius mate
Wouldn't exactly say it's a phenomenon. More like a feature of Foobar.

Yes, an app called FoobarCon. But it wasn't running at that point. But i think you might be on to something. It only pauses when I'm connected to wifi so something is sending info from the phone to the pc.

I am noticing a new digital sounding beep after the focus sound in the still camera app. Anyone else notice this and can explain why they decided to put it in ?
Edit - it's actually after the shutter click sound so now there is a focus sound, shutter sound and new digital beep ? Weird.

Usually it's choppy because it's clipping, music is too loud.
No way to fix except get a different microphone or research how to prevent clipping by using some sort of windscreen or something, I don't know.
