[Q] Ringtone goes thru speaker with earphones plugged in? - Moto X Q&A

When I plugged in my earphone and listen to music, incoming call/mms notifications will come through the earphone. That's really annoying. Anyone know how to set to let the notification sound come from the speaker? Thank you!

I'm curious as well. Been having the same thing. So far, I just have to put it on vibrate when I go for a run.

Really don't think it possible, look at it from this perspective, if you have headphones on and are listing to music ,chances are you will not hear the alert coming from the phone speaker, the only solution is to set all notifications to vibrate while listening to music

In-Call volume very low

Hey everyone,
I have the problem that the call-volume is very low. I've already tried different settings, but there is not really any help.
Does anyone have the same issues? When I'm in a silent ambient, it is okay, but e.g. in the train it is really hard for me to understand the other person.
And no - my ears are not THAT bad
Haven't really noticed an issue with mine, although not usually calling from anywhere that is too noisy.
yes i have that prob.setting the qualiser to bright and disabling speaker voice enhancement improves it a little. but still the call volume is low.
Yes i also feel its bit low... but not very low!
For me it's good enough!
When I have a call in quiet place or a noisy place like in the city or a cafe or something, I understand everything good
i have that problem tooooo.in fact i fight with my gf every time cuz i cant hear what she say ,any advice to fix this problem?can i change some setting and fix this?
It's not that bad! Try using the earphones

Did this solution work for anyone? I am not seeing much difference, please help me if there is any third party application which can be used to boost the volume.
I've wanted to find out if there's a way for some time!
I connect to my car via aux cable for hands free.
But when I get a call I have to increase volume 7 or 8 steps for me to hear.
And then when the call finishes, I get deafened from when the radio kicks back in!

I noticed this on my moto x 2014.. What do you think.. is this a defective mobile .. should go for replacement?
So far i didn't notice it
Are you running some kind of eq
Like the one in Play Music or something like Viper
Same for me, i tried equalizer in OFF, same distortion .. any solution ?
I have this distortion as well, with our without equalizer and for music, ringtones and speakerphone calls.
Not hearing it
I'm cranking it with many différent kinds of music just to try and get the distortion noise but im not getting any of it. Any songs or only specific ones?

Call volume too low?

Hi, I just got my Nexus 6 that I purchased from eBay, everything is ok but the call volume, while it's pretty clear, I think it's too low compared to other phones, I'm not sure if I'm crazy or someone else has noticed that? I tried the speakers for music and they are loud, again, it might just me, but I wanted to double check if someone has noticed that, and if it's something normal for this phone, thanks!

Try this.
1. Make sure the system volume is all the way up as well as the phone earpiece volume.
Get an app the controls all volumes and you'll see it there along with media , alarm etc.
This happened to me but once i raised system and phone it was fine.
Also note that you must practice placing ear in perfect earpiece speaker position lol.
Let me know if it worked that was my problem.

Ditto. My phone volume way too low for in call - either with built-in earpiece or a wired headset.
Nothing I've found brings it up.
Speakers for media/notification is very good&loud, but speaker for in-call (using as a true speakerphone, not trying to use speakerphone mode as earpiece) and ringing is inadequate.

Believe that with update to 5.01 that is going to fix the problem, hope so, I believe that I read it somewhere. I really want to know what are all the fixes for the new version 5.01
BTW, I have Volume Ace download it from play store and see if you got all volume up
Good luck !

Notification sounds on speakerphone even when headphones plugged in

Hi I was wondering if there is a setting to prevent notification sounds from going through the speakers while earphones are plugged in.
Notifications sounds are only played through earphones if music is playing but through the speaker when no music is playing.
Thanks!

Oh yeah that is a nice feature but what is bothering me is that when music is paused or off, I still want to hear the text notification but only through my headphones. Smart Connect only seems to allow to manage connection of device events; I see that it can change sound modes and volume profiles but my minor annoyance is a little more specific. Right now, when music is paused/off I hear the text notification sound through my earphones (good) and also through the phone speaker ().
Weirdly enough, Whatsapp does what I want (headphone sound only). I've tried using the default sms app and Textra SMS and both still use the speakers in addition to headphones.
Hi
Did you find a solution/reason for this?
I have a Sony Xperia Z3 and the same thing happens to me. I have the headphones set as MH750 (which came with the phone) and I can't seem to find any other settings related to headphones and notifications on the phone.
For now setting the phone to vibrate or quiet/silence mode seems to work, or also turning the notification sound to 0. It makes a little sens for example if you are connected to Bluetooth headphones but don't wear them and your alarm clock goes off to wake you. That way you will hear it for sure.
