This is just great
Thanks for letting know on this device forum.
So you people are not yet deRooted or deBooted by any carriers?

Will the ROMs posted in Android Development and Original Android Development work with any carrier or what? I have the Sprint version (M7wls) and I'm wondering if it'd be safe to flash some of the AOSP roms found here, or are they just for the international version of the phone or what. Thanks in advance for any help!
Read the specific threads, most ROMs have issues with the Sprint variant. Most of these ROMs are GSM friendly.

OK I know this should be in the question section, but this section gets more traffic.
Has anyone checked the S4 Bootloader unlock methods with the new update from ATT

There are no S4 bootloader unlock methods, so there's nothing to try.
Then why can you install Cyanogen Mod on the AT&T S4? At least I thought you could. I'll do more research. I am just really wanting CM11 on my phone.

You cannot install CM on the AT&T S4 (i337), the bootloader is locked. There was a point over a year ago where there was an exploit for the bootloader that would allow you to install any ROM known as Loki. But that was patched with the very first update AT&T pushed out. There are very few people who still have that version.
The S4 Active was released after that vulnerability had been patched, so there was never a version of the Active where you could install custom ROMs.
If you want an unlocked bootloader, buy an international version of the phone you want, never buy a phone branded by either AT&T or Verizon. You're only other option with the i537 is to install SafeStrap, you will be able to install TouchWiz-based custom ROMs, but no CM and no AOSP.
Hey guys,
One of the main reasons I always want to root my phone, is not so I can customize the look and feel of it. My main reason is so I can have Xposed framework on it. I had xposed on my first rooted phone (verizon galaxy s5) and I loved it.
Later I got a verizon samsung galaxy s7 and unfortunately they could not crack that nut so there never was a version of xposed compatible with my s7.
Well now I have a Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 8 (snapdragon) and thanks to samfail I can easily root my phone but is there no version, whether official or unofficial of xposed available or under development for this phone? Or does the locked bootloader prevent it from ever becoming a reality? Thanks guys.

I don't have this device but, have you tried performing a search (or posted this question) within the following area of the forum that's specific to your device?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-8
XPosed only requires a properly rooted device and not an unlocked bootloader because it doesn't affect the bootloader of a device.
I did notice on one or two threads regarding the Magisk XPosed working as well for your device.
Good Luck!

Thank you ibuprophen. I will look into those threads.
It has a snapdragon, just like the US version, but a different model number.

i'm curious too to know if it's possible.
Check in the development subforum. You'll probably find first news of any root or ROMs there.
All you'll find here are questions asking if anybody's gazed into the crystal ball to know when this device will be rooted.
We know that ODIN can install international software on devices including US unlocked models of the Note 8. I am wondering if it might be possible to install firmware from another variant, such as the SM-N9500, via ODIN and unlock the bootloader from there. TWRP could be installed by rooting via SamFAIL or via another method to prevent the tripping of KNOX. After that, a custom ROM could be installed.
However, I am worried that by doing this, the SM-N950U1 (or conceivably any US Note 8 with CDMA support) may lose support for Verizon and Sprint.
I would try this out on my own, however my SM-N950U1 is the only phone that I have, I've never used ODIN, and I'm on Verizon.

This is not the correct place to ask questions. This is for development only. I have flagged a moderator to move it to the correct Q&A section. Please bare this in mind for any future posts.

We don't have time to look at each individual subforum for every single device out there.
Without eagle eyed users reporting mistakes like this, the forum would be a mess.
