Hey guys,
I have the magnetic dock next to my bed. The charging LED is horrendously bright. Myself, I can sleep through anything so I'm fine; however, it bugs the hell out of my wife. lol I can see how to disable the notification LED; however, has anybody discovered a way to disable the LED while charging? How about at least dimming it?

simply turn phone little bit to another direction
and u should search in play.store
:good:
lol Lightflow does it, but I was hoping there was a Xposed mod. I didn't want to mess with all the notifications, just simply disable the charging LED.
If you are rooted should be easy to switch it off.
Found it. For those that need it, the Gravity Box Xposed module is the answer.

Hello there,
is there any way to disable the charging LED ?
to each his own, but im curious, why? i just got my phone, but i love the charge lights
Very odd request. How will you know your phone is fully charged if you disable the light?
i bet it's just a registry edit, i'll look around and fiddle around with stuff.

You can also see this in the main display, when the charging icon changes to the battery symbol.
I want to follow up with a related question;
Is there any software to tweak how the LED is blinking? In other words, change the direction and speed. I like the spinning motions (recived SMS) better than the up and down (charging) direction.

In that case, you may want to have the phone and a few other lights turned on while you sleep if the night nerves you. That way you'll have some comfort while sleeping.
If I've misunderstood you, and you mean the light bothers you, then I would also suggest not sleeping with the phone resting against your face, with the light flashing in an eye.
Ok by now you know I'm just kidding, so no offense, but couldn't you just put your phone face down on the table, or even on a cloth if you're worried about it scratching?

Lol, I didn't get far enough down the thread in time to see your response. GMTA! (great minds think alike!)
I used the kaiser notification setup program to disable all my leds
Try this
My girlfriend has the same "issue" about small blinking lights in the bedroom.
She has a HTC P4350 (Herald) and i installed nueLED for her to disable the charging LED and also the signalling LED.
I don't know if the app works on a TP
I does require .NET CF 3.5

I like the way the phone seems to breathe (with the light) while charging. I think it'd be cool to be able to have it beam different colors. Sigh...remembering that bright, shiney new v600 so long ago...
there 8 leds in it on the front. would be nice to be able to control this somehow. there is probably a separate dll for this. like the led of the camera which is hidden in the cameradriver.
A LED control app would be a awesome gadget. Because nueLED is very limited in functions.
I keep my phone docked near my bed when I go to sleep, and I like keeping my room on super darkness..
Unfortunately the phone ruins that for me..
The orange LED for charging is perhaps accepted but if I receive a message / whatsapp / email .. the blinking LED would make my room to an awesome party club..
Is there a way to SHUSSH it out?
to put it on a silence mode or something that when I'm docking you and its nighty time, you don't show me the damn lights..
I'm sleeping you stupid! your suppose to be smart-phone. aren't ya..?
I tried to use Tasker app for this,
Condition: Docked + proper times..
But couldn't find task that remove LED lights or something..
How about you experts?
Could you think of any solution for this please?
Help will be extra appreciated!

settings/display/pulse notification light. check it off. that should stop the blinking, but doesn't turn off the red/orange/green charging light.
I know it isn't ideal but I keep a little bit of masking tape next to my dock, just stick it gently over the LED and boom...sorted.

I still wanna see the LED light when I'm awake.. I just don't need it and don't want it when I go to sleep.. (when I'm docking it...)

You should see the extension lead next to my bed, it has some silly little LEDs in it to tell you which socket is powering something...I gave up and covered the thing in tape, all except the actual holes.

This really seems to be a problem with several Sony devices. I don't understand what Sony is doing there ...
I'm currently searching all threads here but didn't find any working solution for a similar problem with a Sony Z3
I already invested a lot of time in finding a proper solution for the Z3, but maybe here someone found a solution in the meantime which would also help for the Z3?
Any tips highly welcome.
Just fyi.
I found Light Manager (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koo.lightmanager) to solve the problem at least partially (see also http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/help/light-flow-t2889567/page3#post57060492)
What are we, savages? Duct tape over the phone? Unacceptable. You might as well smash it with a hammer. )))
Leaving joke aside I found your fix. I've tested it on my XZ stock rom. You need to be rooted and with xposed framework installed.
Module is called XLED. It allows you to control charging light, and per app setting. Tested with whatsapp, hangouts and pushbullet.
Install it, activate the module and reboot.
You can disable the led control anytime and reenable on the go without reboot. (it has the switch inside the app).
You're welcome.

Hey Sebi673,
Thanks a lot for the feedback. Your suggestion is great and it would help a lot if it would be my device which needs to be "fixed".
Though the problem is, that it is the device of my girlfriend and I would really like to avoid rooting her phone.
This is really something I should have remarked upfront. Sorry and thanks again for your feedback.
Best,
Tom
How do you install that XLED module?
My Xperia Z2 tablet is simply awful when you cannot turn off that damned led. 99% of the time it sits in the docking station acting as a digital photo frame and the led is blinding at night and distracting during the day.
Try this plastered app - works quick and we'll on my z5 compact:
Disable Charging LED
I've got an issue with my camera flash LED. Sometimes after being in my pocket for a while, I'll notice heat or see the light shining through my pants, and find the LED is on. Not flashing, just constantly on.
The "flashlight" in the G4's settings is not toggled, and when I try to toggle it, it says that I can't use the flashlight while the LED is in use. I can't find any other running apps that would cause this or even use the LED, so I'm stumped, and my battery gets drained pretty quick!
Also, if anyone knows how to turn KnockOn off, I would love to know how. That could actually solve the LED issue too, if the screen is getting turned on and manipulated by my thigh while the phone is in my pocket.
Thanks!

I personally never experienced the LED turning on by itself. Also - Reading your comment, looks like you set the "knock code" and want to turn it off?

No, just the double-tap to wake. I think it's getting randomly activated in my pocket, and I don't use it much, so I'd rather disable it.
There used to be an option to turn off the notification LED on blocking mode so that it didn't light up your room while sleeping. It appears that is no longer an option. Does anyone know of a solution to be able to disable the LED for specific hours each day? I tried Lightflow, but had some issues with it and there was not an option to set specific hours. Thanks in advance!
I don't think the LED is that bright to "light up your room".....
If it bugs you that much, turn it face down, or put something over the LED to cover just that one part of the phone.

LOL! Easy fix. Cut her eyes out. Then ask her which did she like more, the ability to see or not? I'm sure she will say sight, but then you give her the bad news that you can't fix her blindness due to you not being a doctor (unless you are, then operate).
To fix your problem though, try Settings > Accessibility > Notification Reminder > LED Indicator
Hope that works.
Have you tried "do not disturb" in your toggle buttons? Says it'll silence calls & notifications, not sure if it will disable led. Ultra power saving mode might also disable led.

I have tried do not disturb and it does not turn off the LED for me. I have not tried ultra power saving mode. I am, however, hoping for something more automated based on time. Thanks for the response.

Thank you for the recommendation, but I actually want the LED on during the day and just off at night. It was a setting on my previous Samsung devices...just appears to be another thing removed, for some reason

Guess the Do Not Disturb option is your only bet. Hopefully it works.
try sleep for android...it has a feature of Do not disturb whenever you have sleep tracking on. So when you sleep just set that as an alarm and it will put the phone to do not disturb
I know you said you had problems with lightflow app but have you tried the light manager app? Works really well for me since they did the fix for 5.1.1.

Does anyone know if there is finally a non-root non-LOS way of disabling the charging LED? I'm really happy with the phone so far. I do not want to unlock the bootloader but the red/yellow/green charging light is just making me crazy. I've rooted all previous Xperia phones to deal with it but I just don't want to do it this time. Other than electric tape or turning the phone over there has to be a way to disable the LED completely (including notifications is OK)
Bought some led blocking stickers... Will sadly use that for now...
*sigh*
Just turn it the other way up when its charging. Sounds a tad OCD to me.
