Grip tape fun with my Atrix HD
I was so tired of dropping my phone so I went to lowes and found this grip tape. No modding at all just cut out the areas where the buttons and mic go. I have had this on my phone for the past month and its working great and still solid.

I drop my phone all the time. I got a case for it though. Grip tape sounds like a great idea!

Hey all, ordered this before I got my N7 finally came in today. Fit is pretty decent but I think I'll take an exacto knife around the screen rim as it has a SLIGHT overhang. You'll definitely want a heat gun, a hair dryer might work but it will take quite a while to heat up. You want to peal off part of the bottom and cut the paper off. The only way to tell if you're lined up is by the speaker cut out so I lined that up and went from there. After I had the back laid on I smoothed the edges around sides and then worked on smoothing the corners. I then heated up the whole thing to activate the adhesive giving a lot of attention to the corners. It looks decent but it could be a little better cut.

I saw a video for the application of the skin that hinted to use a hair dryer on the corners to let them set better. I am just throwing that out there. I noticed that one of your corners was sticking out some. I saw the video on YouTube. You might have already seen what I am talking about.
Great job and the skin looks awesome.

It's a bit of a tight fit, but after using it for about a week now, it seems to be getting use to my Nexus 7.
Also a cool thing about the case is that it acts as a microfiber cloth as well.
If you have the spare club Nintendo coins I say go for it.
It's cool to find stuff lying around the house that fits great lol.
I ended up using my old kindle fire case. Fits perfect but one of the straps is close to the power button
I have this case. I didn't even think about using it for my N7. I will try it out when I get home, thanks!
Hey all,
I ready own a rubberized otter box for my vivid but don't care for it because it gets caught in my pocket. I do a lot of transferring between my hand and pocket with my phone throughout the day and would like to purchase a different case.
Any ideas as to what would be a good plastic case for the vivid. If you could include urls to the item that would be great!

Speck Candyshell. You can't go wrong. Hard plastic on the outside and rubber on the inside and it doesn't add a lot of bulk. That's just my opinion...
I have the body glove.it's like a hard rubber but it works great with my pockets and it pretty slim to

I loved my Candyshell, but I wouldn't recommend it. Unless they've fixed this, the candyshell didn't last too long under normal usage. The rubber started coming apart very quickly. I got mine back in November, so maybe this isn't an issue anymore. I stopped using that one and have the otterbox commuter case on now. It's definitely more bulky, but also a lot more protected
I have a candyshell on. Definetly feels protected especially when it feels like your about to break it getting the phone in. Other then that great case.

The Seidio Surface case hands down. It offers a great balance between bulkiness and level of protection. Plus it has a nice matte finish that is smooth to the touch.

I have a white speck candyshell, and I love it. Dropped my phone many times, not a scratch on the phone. Highly recommend it
I had the white speck case also and my vivid fell from my pocket and the screen shattered..

I was going to get one of these for my Vivid, the Active version with the kickstand, but they sold out =[
I ended up with an Incipio case, and I was pleasantly surprised after trying it out alongside 3 other cases, it won hands down. It's a rubber inner core with a hard plastic shell to hold it onto the phone, with a velvety-rubbery feel on the outside. It's about half the size as the Otterbox case but coupled with a screen protector (I got matte finish) it feels just as protected. Considerable edge lift too when placing the phone face-down on surfaces. The velvety rubber surface also enters and exits my pockets with ease, and I frequently wear jeans... Not tight, but the pockets aren't huge either.
Highly recommend the Incipio case.

+1. I threw out my Otterbox after having the stupid cheap and HUGE holster replaced 3 times. I've had the Seidio now longer than all 3 of the Otter's, and it's still holding strong. I'll never buy an Otter again. The Seidio rules.
Just ordered a few things and got them today.
1. ArmorSuit Military Shield-so far much better than zagg.
2.Cimo TPU gloss black-looks awesome and fits perfect.
Figured I would share because there isn't a whole lot out for this phone and I really like this setup. Looks better than without it IMO. Also protects it nice without adding a whole lot of bulk. All for 18 bucks on amazon.

You ever heard of ghost armor? They make really good skins with a lifetime warranty.

Are you using the battery mod?
I'm about to install one but not sure which case to buy afterwards.
Sent from my phone.
I can confirm otterbox cases work after the mod.

No my battery would not allow sound to play so I just went back to eb20

I have to take my case off a lot because of battery mod. The cases pulls the back away ever so slightly and it cuts out audio sometimes.

Yea I never had any problems when I did the mod on my first phone. Either way Joker 1.5 has been doing great with my battery life.
I have the Otterbox comuter case in white. I have the screen protector that came with it and its pretty nice! The only objection I have is after taking it off a few times the silicon has become a little loose... will apply my hair drier to it and see if it fixes anything. The other day my beer spilled over my phone and the silicon layer prevented it from seeping into the phone itself. So pretty good! This is my favorite case because it seems to protect very nicely without adding too much bulk. Also... I like to have protection for the all the places on the phone with plugs... and this one does it. I do feel that it is a bit hard to align the silicon layer that rests on top of the volume and power buttons at times and if they are not completely aligned, they wont work. The case is pretty hard to put on especial the first few times.
I also have the Incipio Sycrilic case and its pretty decent... but the area around the sd card/ sim card slot is a bit loose. It protects corners pretty well, but Im afraid if I drop it and it falls on the sd card/sim area ... it will break. Also... I ordered this one from ebay at 6 dollars! I ordered the pruple ant the metal like one. Upon receiving them one of them was broken on the upper part (around the camera)... contacted the seller and they shipped a replacement, but I do feel it is easy to break. Overall its pretty good. The volume and power buttons on this one are covered by the silicon layer, but there is no protection for the plugs at all.

I also own the Body Glove Encore case... but this one the least protective of all. Leaves the top and bottom completely unprotected. Compared to the 2 cases described above, it is the thinnest. Its a snap on, one layer case compared to the dual protection of the others.

I have Otterbox defender case. This one is the bulkiest of all. Besides bulk the thing I dont like about this one is the incorporated screen protector. Although the idea is great I know one day it will be very scratched.
In the end... I would recommend the Otterbox Commuter case because its not too bulky, and the second one I would recommend is the Incipio sicrilic, especially since Im not one to drop (this) my phone so much (never have). If your on a budget on the link I posted to it... you can purchase Incipio for $5.99 (4.99 for the purple one) with free shipping compared to the Commuter that cost me $20 and Defender that I got for $40.
Im attaching picutres of the first 3 cases in the mentioned order.
I had the white commuter. It was a Damn pain to line up the buttons. As far as the screen getting scratched on the defender. Yeah it'll happen after awhile. But otterbox will warranty it and send you a whole new case. I have 3 defenders right now for this phone and only paid the original 50 bucks.

Submitting my warranty claim right now... for both the commuter case (since the silicon layer has become loose) and for the defender case for screen scratches. Ill let you know how that goes.

Is your case the cimo s-line case? I'm debating on getting it with the eb40 mod and want to know if it'll fit okay.

Got my case in today, and am very pleased with it.
But......I ordered a roll of white Carbon Fiber 3M Di-Noc vinyl for a reason. After some testing, heat gun application, and stretching........
It's a little rough around the edges, couple of overlap bumps, broke through one corner (too much heat, too much stretch), but overall, I love it. Goes sooooooo well with the white phone. And I have just enough left over to redo it should I see fit. This one wasn't perfect but it was my first attempt at applying a vinyl on a compound corner(s) like that.
I love it. I may have to steal this idea from you. The white carbon fiber looks so sick

I think once I get my taxes back I'm going to order and all back Incipio Dualpro and do the plastic piece on it. I think I'd rather have a little more coverage around the phone. The feather is nice (especially out of the box, the rubbery black feels so good and fits the phone so well), but it's a little on the thin side and I tend to get drop happy from time to time.
Looks awesome man

Let me know how it comes out. I'm waiting for my taxes to come back before dropping coin on a Dualpro, but I think it's where I'm ultimately going to end up. I'd rater have complete coverage around the phone moreso than what the Feather gives.
