Remote control android - Paid Software Announcement and Discussion

My friend is currently traveling overseas and is using an android phone (HTC) and android tablet as her computer devices. She sometimes has trouble locating pictures and uploading them. Is there an app that I can remote control her devices from my android devices or computer. All the apps I found use wifi or usb. I would like to do it over the internet.
Thanks for the help.

Tether half-bright JAVA phone via bt?

I'm wondering how much if any of my half-bright-phone's hardware could be tethered to my NC, and how. The SE-W760 has 3G, GPS, a solid camera, and of course a mic. Hell, it has better speakers than the NC. Sony Ericsson has Windows software that makes it ridiculously easy to tether with an ordinary (non-tethering, non-smartphone) data plan, but understandably for what was originally a phone OS, I haven't found any apps that support tethering TO an Android device.
The devices connect stably via bt, but they can't do anything. Does anyone know an app for the NC and/or a JAVA app for the phone that might work?
ETA: Well, they can do a bit. The phone can 'remote control' the NC, which is worth a laugh, and push files to it but not receive them from it, which may come in handy some day.
There is an app called nc tether in android development forum and in market too but it wont work if your nook fails to send files to your phone.
I am having the same problem my nook can send files to some devices but not to my and several other phones that i tried, so essentially its the nooks bluetooth's fault.
You can expect it to get better with the new driver that they are building for the newer kernel or in the end you will just have to find a wifi phone.

hi

is any apk to use my nokia 5800 phone as modem with my gtablet????
thx.
Since it uses the Symbian OS, you can try tethering it via Bluetooth. I know that for the most part Android tablets in general have problems tethering to another Android phone via Bluetooth, but seem to work well on phones utilizing another OS (i.e Apples iOS)
I am in the same situation is there any more information on how to do this?
Have you guys tried BT?
i think that i found a solution,, you have to install joiku spot on your nokia 5800 and that's it.
Joiku Spot is an aplication that convert your nokia into a wireless router.
Hi, I'm currently using Barnacle on my Huawei phone to tether my GTab...works great!

[Q] Tf701t & iphone & usb hdd

Dear friends
First of all welcome as its my first post here
I really like tf701 even though here in eu it's not as cheap as in us
Anyway before buying it I'd like to post some q.
I have no android experience so please forgive my ignorance.
1. Can I use my usb 3.0 external drive, explore it, do some basic file operations etc?
2. It's usb powered one so do I need any additional accessories?
3. Can I host iphone, transfer music and manage apps?
4. I'm going to Asia for couple of years and I don't have laptop,
Most of the time I will not have internet access
Should I get tf701t?
The other device I'm considering is samsung xe700t1c.
Actually my only requirements are compatibility with
usb hdd, iPhone as mentioned above plus good display so other
Recommendations are also welcome
Thank you in advance for your reply
The tablet has an excellent display. As far as syncing with an iPhone, no android tablet can do that as iTunes is required for syncing with an iPhone and iTunes is incompatible with android, unless it is jailbroken with a certain tweak {I forgot the name} installed, but no guarantee that would work either, if you want a tablet that would be able to sync with the iPhone I would suggest a windows tablet that is running full windows OS 8 if you need to sync your iPhone, but I don't think any would support use of an external hdd, and I would suggest syncing your music and stuff before you go on the trip so you don't have to while on the trip. I have not tested using a external hard drive on the tablet, but I think it would work as long as you have the tablets keyboard dock and a power supply, but no guarantee on this.
There are apps (can't recall names) that allow android to sync with itunes I thought?

Any word on the USB changes

So I got a 2016 Cruze, it's pretty rad and supports Android Auto. But I have to plug it into the USB port, and that's sort of a drag. Any word on the development of the completely wireless version? I wish in the mean time they would make a light version that would run the apps I want over bluetooth. Chevy has a Pandora app but that's it. It does work well, but they seem to have no interest in making a Spotify app and it's difficult to the standard media player when casting Pandora. So yeah, really digging Android Auto because it gives me access to all the apps I wish Chevy MyLink had. Just really not into the USB cable.
Does your car have wifi? If not, you will not be able to use Android Auto wirelessly since it will run over WIFI.
We do not know when ( it might be never since AA development does not seem to be a priority at Google) but when Google activates the wireless functionality, I think your car will need to support it and that is not only up to Google.
So fingers crossed that your Cruze will have a software update that allows wireless Android Auto.
Yeah, I have the premier edition that has WIFI. People at work make fun of me because when I roll up to the building my cars wifi shows up as an option on their phones. I guess we'll see how it turns out and if GM will support it further. They have been eager so far to use the technology.

installing android auto on an lte tablet.

Found a lot of info on this for rooted devices. but not to much for non rooted devices
i want to install AA on a LTE tablet that will stay in my car. the tablet will run other car related apps.
but im tired of having my phone tied up playing music draining my battery. specially on long trip.
also i cant record videos or talk on the phone and still have music lol i know things i shouldnt be doing anyway..
is there anyway to make it work. i tried to sideload it. but got an error 22 that android auto needed to be installed on my os.
any help would be appreciated
maybe try AA emulator on this tablet?
Android Auto app is not targeted to tablets, only phones. And since Android 10, Android Auto is a system app, not a user app. So, if your current Android version is 10 or higher and you sideloaded the Android Auto apk, it will not work. To make it work you'll need to root the tablet and install Android Auto as a system app.
[GSI] Fix 'Communication error 22' on Android Auto
If you've installed a custom ROM that doesn't come with Android Auto pre-installed, you'll get the following error when connecting your phone to your car (the Android Auto app opens correctly, the error is only shown when you connect to the car)...

The easiest alternative is to use your tablet as an Android Auto receiver using Hedunit Reloaded Emulator. It's available on the Play Store and is very cheap. It has even a free trial app with a 5 minute limit if you want to test it.
When installed, this apps acts as an Android Auto receiver. This way if you connect your phone to your tablet using an OTG cable (or a USB-C to USB-C cable if both devices have this port) your phone will detect the tablet as an Android Auto compatible headunit and show stuff on it.
You can use this app in Android headunits if they don't have Android auto compatibility, as long as they support USB OTG mode.
