[Q]Moto X Has Landscape Homescreen Somehow? - Moto X Q&A

I set my Moto X on top of my iShower Bluetooth speaker one day, and the screen suddenly turned to landscape; lockscreen, homescreen, everything.
Whats up with this?
Is this like a driving mode or something? I would think that but there was no driving mode notification.
This happen to anybody else?
I've attached a picture of the screen while in landscape.
Stock AT&T Non-Dev Moto X on 4.4.

That is the alarm/desk mode. Play around with a magnet on the back and you can change modes. Chris

If you do want home screen rotation, Nova launcher provides that as an option.

Is there a APP that allows you to switch off the phone instead of using the hard button on the side ?
Example: A widget - when pressed switches off the phone.

I believe Switch Pro has that feature. But you need root for that.

try quick boot works for me has options for
reboot, recover or bootloader.. but not shutdown
there are a lot of apps that do reboot, Toolbox, toolbox to name a few that i actually have, but that's a good question for the shutdown.
Hmmmm, I searched high and low and found one hopefully, over at android forums. Gotta register first then i'll have a look later.

Wallpaper

I actually like the color blue that Moto has used in theming the D3. One thing that is missing in my humble opinion is a decent wallpaper that goes with this. I tried the stock ones and nothing hits the spot. I am wondering if any of you out there are like I am. If you have something that works please let me know. I am very interested in finishing this off.
Try 'Xperia Play Wallpapers' from the market. It has a nice blue one I used for a while.

Here's mine that I whipped up in PhotoShop. Don't ask how I did it 'cause I can't tell you. This was my first time using PS, with the aid of a few YouTube videos.
If you'd like the original, I'll PM you a direct link to my PhotoBucket. It's an enormous image so that when cropped by the D3 "ANDROID" fills the home screen as shown.

I'm curious if anyone knows what the icon in the notification bar is that is directly to the left of the Wi-Fi icon. Thanks in advance. I have the T-Mobile variant.

Ninjas.
Thanks. Does leaving it enabled really drain the battery?

Hardly. The biggest downside is that it sits in your notification bar. A other than that it doesn't use much power overall (unless you're constantly using it, then it'll draw more power)

Share menu inconsistency.

Just as the title says. Why is the share menu different in different apps and can someone do something about this? (make it like the big white one all the time) It's hurting my OCD. ) I'm not rooted yet, but I will be very soon (when i get to my laptop) and I'm interested in a fix for this.

Notification vibration duration

I know that was a lot of -ation's, but is there any way to customize the duration of the vibrations?
It vibrates for a crazy long time! Its obnoxious especially when in a back and forth text conversation with 2+ people. Not to mention loud.

Settings>device> sounds> vibrations> select create.
Then you should be able to assign the vibration to a contact.
There's also a setting for vibration intensity.

I was hoping for a more global approach because every notification feels like that scene in Jurassic Park.
