I have a problem someone might be able to shed some light on.
I am on call so i need to leave my phone on over night, i plug it in as i go to bed so over noight it charges. In the morning it is at 100% until i unplug it, it will go down to 78 - 85% of battery
Does anyone know why this happens??????
Thanks.
Did you calibrate your battery after flashing Criskelo's ROM? Also, the phone stops charging after it reaches 100%, so its if you think that keeping it connected to the charger all night long it will be charging all the time you're wrong. The phone stops charging to prevent the battery from overheating - charging resumes after some time though

I believe I did a battery Calibration, I used "Battery Calibration" to do this but this might not be the best thing to do a CAL.
I leave it plugged in cos i'm asleep when it gets to 100% otherwise i would unplug it, when i here it get to 100% i unplug it cos i only lose about 2% battery over night.
It should at least hold the charge at around 99 -98%.
I think Battery Calibration does the job - or you can go in recovery and wipe the battery stats there. Anyway next time that happens you should go to Settings>applications>battery use and you should check which of the processes is draining your battery the most

Nothing is draining the battery, I just want to know why after being on the charger "reading 100%" battery it drops to approx 78% after i unplug the Charger.
Even if i have everything turned on and running it should stay at 97% or above once i unplug the charger.
LOL that's just the battery acting if you don't have anything draining it. Also, just for information - you apparently haven't had everything turned on and running on the phone - I can tell you that the charger is not fast enough and cannot counter the entire drain of the battery, so you end up losing battery even though you're charging the phone and the worse part is that soon the battery overheats and stops charging. LOL
For crying out loud, use your brains and do a search for battery problems, there are so many damn bits of info on battery calibration it's unreal, first rule of forum.. "search before you ask"! Nappy change anyone?!

I did a search but found nothing regarding this issue.
Sorry to bring up an old thread, but i have just recently gotten the same problem.
It started after i installed the 2000 Mah samsung battery. I have since calibrated the battery but the problem apperently still persist.
I have several chargers, and i'm beginning to suspect that the one in the bedroom doesn't work properly anymore. I used the charger in the living room to charge to 100% calibrate and it stayed at 100% when unplugged.
Any ideas or suggestions or is it simply still af matter of a bad calibration?
When unplugging, anything in the range of 95% to 100% should be ok.
As for calibrating, i usually drain my whole battery to 0, then recharge to get back 100%
That is exactly what I did as well.
Another way you could fix this is by turning off auto-sync while you charge.
I had this exact problem, but it is caused by your phone completely charging, when it gets to 100% it stops taking battery from the plug, so its using your phones battery. Auto sync is always been used and uses a lot of battery.
Try this and let me know
I've been using a new original battery for 6 months now, but only yesterday, it seems to be acting very odd, whenever i place My finger on the usb port on the phone, it charges, and sometimes it even charges by itself then stops charging then starts charging again. however i do not believe its charging because the drain is awful as its gone down 10 % in 40 minutes. can someone please help me here. the battery and fine. and I can't check the drain on bbs as it's always charging then not, hence bbs restarts.
may be its time for a new USB charging module.. try cleaning it first...(remove battery first.)
have done, doubt thats the solution, ive noticed, that it only charges by itself when the battery is 40 percent, when the battery drains to ~20% in which it does so very quickly, from 90% to 16% in 90 minutes, the odd charging by itself stops. it may be a rogue battery i guess. going to have to try anker batteries, the originals are not that good.
How can I calibrate my unrooted phone
Sent from my Nexus 6 using XDA Free mobile app
You can't. Even if you are rooted.
Run your battery all the way down until it shuts off. Charge, uninterrupted, until fully charged. Voila! Battery calibrated.
Battery calibrating apps/techniques have been useless for quite some time.

My phone has gone through many charge and shutdown cycles and not even this has changed my 5% shutdown.
Have you tried leaving your phone plugged in after 100%? Let it trickle charge for an hour or two.
The battery 'calibration' stuff that people do is what android does automatically after getting to nearly full charge.
It hasn't been needed since gingerbread.
I have had this issue happen a few times, what I do is plug it in to turn it on , then try to run it down till 0 and then put it on charge while off till its 100% and leave it there for a few hours. Then after a few cycles, this occurs again. I dont charge in the middle, always charge at night until 100% and 30 minutes beyond that.
Hello, lately I can not charge the battery more than 98% and in some cases 97%
I already use the method to calibrate the battery but it continues the same.
Only if I disconnect the charger and reconnect it reaches 100%
Any solution?
In my case the same thing happens.
I have not found a solution yet.
Charging it off turns it 100%, turning it on 98% and then on to 100% again.
in 5 minutes it goes down to 96%, and then the battery is safe.
I have a good time to use the battery, since I stayed 18 hours away from the charger.
I changed my battery on my Mi 8 SE 2 days ago and I have been seeing some weird issues when the phone is charging.
The first time I charged it with the new battery it started charging really fast going from 3% to 7% in a few seconds and it charged up to around 40% and stopped, after I unplugged the cable it started draining really fast down to around 30%.
After plugging the cable back in it continued charging and got stuck at 55% no matter what I even turned it on and it showed 70% and wouldn't drop or charge. after a day it finally turned off and I tried charging it again.
This time it had the same issues getting stuck at random %, however it somehow managed to charge up to 100% and I used it normally for about 24h after completely draining it until it shut down.
When I tried charging it again it charged to 81% and got stuck after unplugging the charger it started going down to 60% and got stuck again, when I turned it on it said charged and the battery showed 34% and rebooting it showed 53% and it kept saying charged no matter what.
Has anyone experienced this issue when changing the battery on a phone?
I have been using the original charger the whole time and I have also tried different chargers with the same results. I even tried to unplug and re-plug the battery and it doesn't change anything.
I am using Pixel Experience 11 with the final update and it is not rooted.
