If you are rooted:
Method 1.
Install Xposed Installer APK , Open Xposed Installer, tap on framework and tap install. Then install Disable Samsung Notification Widget APK , activate the module in xposed framework and reboot.
Method 2.
Install Titanium Backup APK (you will need the pro version=$6) and freeze com.sec.android.app.keyguard 1.0
If you are not rooted:
You can get rid of the text message notifications by disabling them in the settings of the messaging app. The problem with this is that you won't get any alerts at all. If you want alerts, you'll have to download a third party messaging app. 8SMS APK is a beefed up version of the stock android messaging app. You can also use Hangouts APK it supports SMS now.
For missed call notifications, you can't do much other than install lockscreen policy from the market. (only works on 4.3 and below) This will kill ALL widgets on the lockscreen (and notifications) So if you are trying to replace your lockscreen with something like dashclock it won't work... and no! There's no option to choose certain widgets, it kills them ALL. Here is the link: Lockscreen Policy APK

Hi guys!
So I got sick of the Handcent SMS icon (that blue thing) since it kinda sticks out from the sleekness of my TouchWiz dock's apps..So I decided to mod the res files and replace the icons with the icon of Samsung's original messaging app. I also changed out one of the notification icons provided by handcent with the notification icon of the default messaging app as well...
I did all of this using APK manager following the instructions of the WidgetLocker mod guide. I zipped and signed the apk with no problems but for some reason it just won't install from the phone or using APK manager.
I did everything exactly the way I did when I modded WidgetLocker..so I have no idea why Handcent is being stubborn at install now...
Any ideas? Anyone ever attempt this?
So I'm on Crash ROM and I want to change the icons of some of the apps (Phone, contacts messaging etc.) to the ones like the S3 and Note 2. How do I do this? I don't want to use desktop visualiser as it means I won't get the notification on the icon if i get a message for example. I have the image files if that helps.
An easiest way is to install a launcher and s3 theme on it

Download Lockscreen Policy app from playstore . Gets rid of popup notifications (which I didnt want because it kept covering dashclock notifications)It works! Also with it activated ,it disables stock time clock widget from coming back once deleted . Hope this helps .

Small update , while this works without root .More features with rooted device. Also ,when turning on widget switch to off disables popup notifications and the app's clock as default then eventually stock clock comes back .Turn it on allows you to add widgets but your popups will come back.Sorry nonrooters , its only good for killing popups on lockscreen .

i use huawei p9-al10 Chinese version with emui 4.1, i always use line messenger, facebook messenger. when have a new notification, those icon not show badge of notification. how to fix it ?
I don't get icon notification for any other apps apart for messages, missed calls and email.

Try with Nova Launcher and TeslaUnread. The stock launcher does not support unread counts for a lot of apps.
Is there any way to use standard launcher and to use TeslaUnread or similar app?
I'm going a bit nuts here as I have lost my phone dialer icon. i was using drupe dialer but for some reason kept missing calls - the phone wouldn't even ring. so i deleted drupe and i just want to use the stock dialer. in my installed applications it is there and when i use assistant it will make a call using samsung dailer. but in my app drawer the app is gone, i can't make any shortcut to it. any idea how to get the icon showing in my app drawer again? such a stupid problem but i can't figure it out all i want is an icon on my nova homescreen and for the life of me I can't do it cause the icon is missing from the app drawer

Have you looked in the app manager to see if it's just disabled, almost impossible to uninstall with out using some adb commands.
Ahhhh.... Thanks for that suggestion. I had contacts disabled as i wanted to use Google's contacts app. Had no idea that would also take away the phone
