Is it worth getting a surface type pen for the tf701? And which one
What apps do they work with and are there any other benefits
Or are they just gimmicky

We don't have a wacom screen so you can't use surface type pens or s-pens but I can recommend the adonit jot pro if you want a pen that works well
I'm using the Wacom bamboo which well suited I think. But others like the Adonis don't do anything.

You have an adonit jot pro? Is it supposed to work? Cause mine doesn't register. Any ideas? This wacom bamboo is alright though.

This is awsome now if we could only get the maxtylus mxts100 stylus to work on the tab it would be just perfecr. A captive stylus does not do it any justice.

I'll grant you that but it's flat and it works. At least as well as can be hoped for for units sans a digitizer.

hey nice find !
how does this sums up to Galaxy Note's S-Pen accuracy ? is there any review out there that compares between the two ?
I've used Note and S-Pen before and They work wonder on Note's 5.3" inch screen. Imagine how much better and real note-taking experience on 7.7" larger screen
The Galaxy Note actually has a Wacom digitizer built in. The S-Pen, as a result, is not using the capacitive layer of the screen at all, and no matter how well made, no capacitive screen is going to exceed the precision of a Wacom...
No matter how cleverly made the pen, the tracking precision of the capacitive screens themselves are the actual limit here - a much cheaper resistive screen is much better for taking notes or drawing, provided it has a high enough resolution...
Awesome app. Works very well. Just downloaded it. Thanks

I was wondering, does the note stylus work with other devices as well? All the styli I have are pretty thick, the note stylus looks like it's top is way thinner.
Thanks in advance!

No, its not a stylus its the S-Pen and it won't work with another devices as it uses Wacom digitizer technology.
I tested on the following phones-
SGSII
Samsung Omnia something-or-the-other (not the actual name, of course:laugh
Didn't work.
Maybe it will work with the upcoming Note 10.1 tablet as its based on the same technology.
I see, thank you!

Not too familiar withthe techinvolved butcan any "Wacom digitizer stylus" be usedwith the note 2? .It would obviously need a buttonbutaside from that is there anything special about the Samsung s-Pen tha tprohibits a third party digitizer from being used? thanks
I don't think so but I have an old intous tablet I can try and get back to you. It's going to be a while since I'm at work lol.

Doesn't work with intuous 3 stylus.

I was wondering the same thing. A buddy of mine has three different wacom tablets, including the one with a built in display. He had to label the styluses because they don't work with each other...
My girlfriend's touchsmart tm2 pen works with my GN1.
Just tried the pen from my Walcom Intuos 5, It did not work.
I have a Wacom Bamboo Pad, but the Pen does not work!
i was thinking of getting an intuous 4 stylus with the "flex" nib but now don't think it will work. i really don't like the way the hard plastic feels on the screen at all. if someone finds a digitizer that works please post a link up to it.
My HP Touchsmart Tm2 pen works like a charm. The eraser feature is also working. I may remove this pen from my tablet and use it as my permanent pen on my Note.

i have an intous 4 and the pen does not work.
I have an inkling that Wacom is using a version of their Penabled technology. So if that's the case, if you've got a Tablet PC with a Penabled logo on it, the pen will probably work.
The note 2 pen isnt the best, sadly my htc flyer pen even though it is wacom wont work on the note.
What pens that are more comfy (larger, bulkier) do you use?
The s pen feels in my giant hands like a toothpick

I went with this:

Has all the functionality of a stock S-Pen plus the added benefit of functioning as a bluetooth headset in a pinch.

OP the HTC Flyer I believe is N-Trig no Wacom... which is why it doesn't work on your Note II.

Yep, it's N-Trig. So far the only other Wacom pen I've found to work with my Note came from one of my old Fujitsu convertible laptops. It needs calibrated though, causing the point to not be where the stylus point is, and the eraser on the back or the switch on the side doesn't work.

That would be something I would buy as well! (Did a little research, & apparently some pens made for wacom work)
