Hi all,
I have a serious situation with my S I9000, I really need some help.
So I had jelly bean Cyanogenmod 10, It worked fine until one day I updated it, and then I tried to Update some apps using Google Play App but the update didn't finish and cause me lots of unworkable apps.
I rebooted my phone to recovery mode, I made a backup, and then tried to restore an old backup (before I updated Cyanogenmod) but then the phone didn't want to start, It powers up but stays at "Samsung galaxy S....." welcome screen forever.
I was not able to start in recovery mode, how ever the downloading mode worked, then I tried to flash android 2.3.6 with odin but it failed.
And now my phone won't power up and doesn't show anything, even the charging screen.
I know I really messed things up but I really need your assistant guys.
Thank you (and sorry for my weak English)
What did you flash through Odin?

It's probably a hard-brick (I had the same problem last week). There are two ways that can solve it.
First is with a USB Jig. You can buy one (are super cheap) or trying to construct one by yourself. Here are some posts of handmade USB Jigs:
- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331782
The second way is by taking your phone to the shop.
Hope it helps you!

Thank you, but I think that USB Jig doesn't work, cause the phone doesn't show anything at all : no downloading/recover mode and no battery charging screen.
I heard about JTAG.. do you have a tutorial for that ?
Thanks again.
JTAG i think is only used by professionals, so i don't think there is any guide about it
is it really i9000? or i9003?
as far as i know, flashing i9000 ROM into i9003 will hardbrick ur fone

You can not restore any pre-CM backup as it has different format. I had the same situation last week and learned now how to revive my i9000
It is just a soft brick probably, if you have download mode (check 3-buttons) let me know if it works, I will help you later then.

The phone was completely dead. downloading mode or recovery mode didn't work even the battery charge status wouldn't appear.
The solution was JTAG. it's complicated and used only by professionals as @TenKoX said.

GT-N7000 bricked?
Good day
I am new in this forum, but please help. the following summarizes my problem:
1: I upgraded it to 4.1.2 using N7000UBLSF_N7000UUBLSF_TTT about 2 months ago using Odin. It worked well
2. latter I tried to root with PhilZ-cwm6-UBLSF-UBB-4.87.6.tar.md5 using Odin. It was not successful, instead, it brought a yellow triangle with with an exclamation mark inside while booting up, but, it still worked well.
3. Yesterday, i tried to root it again with http://205.196.123.93/16u53bf954yg/6bxp34p353tf8ob/PhilZ-cwm6-XXLSZ-OXA-4.63-signed.zip. It rooted quit alright but with the yellow triangle still there.
4. I then tried to remove the yellow bang with this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1354888
5. my phone went off totally. i tried the Jig, no effect. Plugged it to the computer and still no sign of life. How can i solve this?
I will appreciate any help rendered.

Its not good practice to hijack a thread in the middle of someone seeking help... If you really need to, start your own. I realise this is your first post, just letting you know how it works.
Philz kernels are meant to be flashed from recovery, not odin which is why you got the yellow triangle. I have no idea what method you took to remove yellow triangle, but easiest way is to use triangleaway from the play store.
You rooted correctly the first time and it was successful, you then tried to flash an incompatible Philz kernel which is why it won't boot. Flash a full rom using pc odin and start again, and read the instructions fully next time.

If you can't enter download mode with jig it's fully bricked and needs a motherboard replacement under warranty.

No, warrantees don't cover intentional damage. You can recover a bricked phone for $50 US with the JTAG process. See www.mobiletechvideos.com.

Hi,
It would seem that after 3-4 months of using a car charger has killed my charging/sync capabilities of my Nexus 7 3G It will only charge from mains power/usb power when switched completely off but as soon as the device is booted it does not charge. As I can no longer use the usb connection I am unable to load the stock rom using the tool kit I loaded this flashable zip so I can RMA the device
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2377685&page=1
Although the ROM appears to work fine (Still have the sync/charge issue though) and according to the "About Tablet" info everything appears to be stock, however if I enter recover mode with the power/volume down button I am presented with Clockwork Mod Recovery Menu which I would obviously need to remove somehow?
Can anyone please offer any advice on how I can do this to enable me to send the unit back for an RMA?
Many Thanks

And, in truth, if it's a hardware failure, rooted or not shouldn't matter.
One of the first diagnostics that they generally do is nvflash a stock image to eliminate software as an issue.

Its a Nexus Device... When manufacturers put that tag on a device they know many people will but it to modify its software... I sent my first nexus Back with a very non stock rom on it because of the screen issue. It came back fixed with the same os on it . This was sent to Asus ..
If you have opened it or modified it physically in any way they will charge you. If its a software issue they prob will not but have a right to charge you..
but you can get back to stop.. D/load the stock image from google. to the device boot into cwm and flash it.. You will now be stock. You can then d/load stock recovery and flash that with cwm. So recovery will be stock..
Call ASUS To confirm about the above. they are quite open to talk to you .

Hi,
This appears to be a software issue as the port will allow usb/mains charge when powered off but not when powered on, (alot of reports from other users on this after using Amazon cigarette lighter chargers like me! ) the cables/chargers have all been changed and the port itself seems fine and has never been damaged in any way but sadly I cannot use fastboot due to the USB connection issues...

If you get into download mode, go to sammobile en download the firmware for your phone and flash it with odin. if that worked, open stock recovery and do a fatory reset to make sure everything is back to stock... Then you can just hope it won't happen again.

Have you any news about the problem in your phone?
Mine (i8190 with one of the mclaws roms from previous week) also appeared in the morning shut down and there's no way of starting it. It does not even vibrate when power button pressed, as if the battery was completely empty.
Tried with another battery and checked that the original one had charge, but no luck. It does not start (normal, download or recovery, makes no difference).
Any ideas?

Well mine was dead for a day then I plugged it into the charger (this was after a day and I left it on charge all night and it wouldn't start) and I held the power button for 10 seconds while it was on the charger it showed offline charging so I let it charge for a bit and then I powered it on and it seemed to be bricked so I sent it to a phone repair shop (not Samsung as my warranty is void). If it doesn't show any signs of life then it's bricked. If it comes to life then it is also probably bricked. I tried flashing many recoveries, ROMs, kernels and params and nothing happened.
In the S III Mini General forum there are topics about getting your phone back to stock so that it is covered by warranty.

I tried to flash stock ROM and recovery but nothing actually worked!
1. Did you follow the instructions in detail?
2. What does "nothing actually worked!!" mean??
Maybe you need to work out what is the problem and why it is failing. Then you will be able to figure out if it is actually fixable, and if so how to fix it. "Trying everything" doesn't really work unless you make an effort to analyse the results you get every time you try something.
You could try posting in one of the threads about taking the phone back to stock. The people who posted them might be able to help you, they are more experienced at this sort of thing.

I tried those solutions and they didn't work.
Kid, can you read?
What did you try? What was the result?
"didn't work" isn't a result, it's you giving up. Without even trying to find out why it didn't work.

I read all instructions, and when I flashed it via Odin, nothing actually changed even with the params!
