Standard xda protocol to come off as an ass lol but I tend to agree. What keeps it from draining 1 to 10% and the other to 70%? Then, which one does android read? There is nothing in android that knows how to charge 2 battery's at the same time so one or both might never reach 100%. Its a really cool idea, but would love to see some full drain screenshots and recharge screenshots.
My hates off to you though for truly thinking outside the box

I said this year I was going to be nicer on XDA but I've found it's basically impossible sometimes..
Anyway, yeah, two batteries are going to each have their own levels, their own capacity, and their own chip that says their capacity. I doubt you can just cram two of them together and the phone make any sense out of it. Batteries aren't dumb anymore, they provide data to the phone as well and that data would be wrong.

Yeah, but at a week. I'd throw out the accurate battery stats, and take the week! Lol.

Can someone post the link to the original source? I'd like to know if their setup still works and some howtos.

I tried with two batteries connected in parallel, such as this one before mentioned can not be charged together. Only one is filled to 100% though batteries are not stupid but when they charged separately and then join they have much longer capacity but it is impractical. it is easier to take lg l90 zerolemon battery and put in g2
Sorry for my bad english

I wish there was possible to put LG l90 lemon battery on our LG g2. Has anyone done that?

LG L90 uses the same battery bl-54sg / sh as LG G2 F320 with s/l/k so it should be able to. I will order the battery in two weeks, so when it comes I will see whether it will work. I will write whether it is successful.

For d802 version you have battery case

So there is no bigger battery with the same flex cable connector? Would be so nice.

Anybody gonna buy an extended battery?

I was just wondering if anyone is gonna buy an extended battery?
I just ordered me one off of Android Central. I ordered the 1750mAh battery that's originally for the original Evo. But it fits the Shift also.
My buddy has it in his Evo Shift and he gets well over 14 hours on one charge. He took his phone off the charger at 8 this morning and when we got off work an hour ago his battery was at 59%...and yes he's been making calls, sending lots of texts and going on the web as well as streaming music on pandora.
This was sent shifting on my EVO Shift 4G using Tapatalk
I am not calling you a liar. I am saying that 250 more milliamps will not make a huge difference. Maybe might get another hour to hour and a half I would speculate. I have no proof to back my thought either. This is just my opinion.
Check out the testing done on Battery Boss.
http://batteryboss.org/
That Seidio battery doesn't rate all that well.
TP2 Seidio, 1750mAh rated: 1383mAh
EVO 4G stock OEM, 1500mAh rated: 1443mAh
Might want to check and see if that battery for the EVO works on the Shift. I tried a battery out of a friends EVO and it doesn't work. Hero battery does though.
um, works just fine. Same part number and everything.
HOWEVER, your battery wont fit his evo unless you snip the plastic block as they put some odd notching on the new battery.
I've been using my evo batteries since day 1.

I understand what you're saying. But all I know is that his battery was at 59% when we got off work. Maybe it lasted longer because the Shift is a smaller phone than theEvo and therefore it doesn't use as much power like the Evo. Thus resulting in the fact that the battery doesn't drain as fast.
Idk....but i definitely ordered one. Once I get it, I'll report my finding.
The original evo friggin inhaled batteries because of the screen.

You have to install the evo battery upside down in the shift correct? My concern is the pin layout. May have to give it another look.

No, whatever gave you that idea? Same pins, same layout, same everything. Not sure why you'd call it "upside down". Guess it depends on which side of the "label" you'd call the upside.
RHOD100. Same part numbers. Guess if you care where the "words" are when you install the battery, so be it, but otherwise the battery is just fine.
for everyone coming from the Hero, and those that still have it. It's battery can be used as an extra. I just tried mine, just flip the battery upside down and works just fine.
Folks, to clarify my earlier statement, the pinouts are exactly the same, do NOT worry about which side of the label is the "top" or "bottom". The writing on the battery label means nothing.
If the labeling really really matters to you, get a sticker and write on it "This side OUT on the EVO SHIFT"
Word of warning tho, the Shift battery may NOT work in the evo or TP2 or Hero or any other phone that uses RHOD160 class batteries because they are changing the plastic notches at the end.

I dont find a need to use an extended battery. If you know how to set your phone up properly and buy a few replacement china made batteries you should never have a problem. I'm at nearly 40 hours and still have 25% left on my battery. I posted what I did in another thread under general on how and what I do to get this kind of battery life. This phone is amazing on power usage if you just set it up right and know how to use it. I get more life out of this phone than my Optimus S and i thought that phone was killer. I always have a fully charged battery in my wallet for when I ever run out and need a full charge.
I was already getting about 12 hours on the original evo shift battery. I got my Extended battery early this morning, charged it all the way up. I know its too early to really see a difference but I took my phone off the charger at about 1030 this morning and I'm just at 94 percent battery life..if that means anything

Fifedogg, do me a really big favor and do NOT ever put a Lithium class battery in your wallet or any other place that it could ever flex.
We really don't need a catastrophic accident in the news about the battery cracking, getting exposed to oxygen/moisture and spontaneously combusting and, um, toasting up your backside.
LiON/LiPoly/LiPO class batteries can burn at excess of 1000F, your skin is no match for that temp.

Those batteries aren't the same at all ... They are cheap knockoffs with probably half the rated capacity.
I bought mine at a verizon store. After I updated to 5.6.890 I monitored batt life. Had 40% @29th hour from the first full charge (had 70% when I bought it). Wrote it down, but can't find the stat. I was trying for 48hr. Fell short by 4 or 6 hrs.? Played XGalaxy2, Txt, Email, Tweaking, little broswering. lol . I'm using a live wallpaper now so thats using energy. ps. debloated.

I agree. Get the one from Verizon. You need the new battery door. I'm using one since I received the phone, still don't get anywhere near the rated phone specifications of 300 hours standby/550minutes usage. However, the battery does make a difference for me.
The inductive charger is also a nice accessory and works with the extended battery.

Can you buy genuine Motorola batteries for D3 that are bigger than 1930mAh (I mean bigger power-wise, not physically)?

A battery of that size and capacity won't expand than the thickness of a sheet of paper. If it expands noticablly, you'd be facing a serious risk of explodsion whether if you're using the extended back or not.

Droid 4 Extended/Aftermarket Battery

Does anyone know of any extended or aftermarket batteries that could work with the Droid 4 by replacing the internal battery?
I understand it is an internal battery, but that does not mean it cannot be removed :good:
You can take it out, but it's not supposed to be removed, so as far as i know no one makes one for the droid 4. Some ppl tried putting in a razr maxx battery, but they then found out that the battery doesn't fit into the same slot. What you can do is get an external battery or maybe you can see if they make cases with battery's in them like they do for the iphone and other devices. Hope i helped.
I have been looking for a case that has an extra battery in it and i cant seem to find one anywhere. If anyone finds one please let me know. I use my phone everything so it would be nice to not have to take my charger with me all the time.

Do Droid 4s share the same battery with a Razr? If so, the Razrs can upgrade to the Razr Maxx battery with some tinkering. I foresee problems finding a bulged backplate for a Droid 4, though.

the mugen site doesn't list the d4. closest thing is the d3 and photon (not the photon q, which looks a lot like a d4), both of which have regular removable batteries, so it doesn't look good for us. esp now that it looks like the droid5 just got leaked... and it doesn't seem to have an easily replaceable battery either.

I just puchased the mugen extended battery. It does add a little more bulk and unable to get a case that will fit the larger door. Other than the power meter not able to show true battery life. It is a software limitation. I do like the longevity of the battery though. My original battery would die while I was asleep after about 5 to 6 hours offBT the charger just sitting idle with no wi-fi or BT on.

hey there! Figured I would chime in on some info concerning extended batts for the D4.. Even though I am not sure that this pertains to the particular model you are looking at, I have found one that works extremely well, and does not need an extended back for the phone. It has thicker cells, and I've gotten more than a day out of it. Given that is not full use of course, but still thats almost unheard of (at least for me) when it comes to the D4. Also, I have to say that I was a bit pretentious at first, because this battery is sourced from china/japan on eBay. Anyways here is your link!

Yeh they have a extended battery 2085 mAh using stock door but the Mugen is 3800mAh which seems super capacity tho the device will become a bit thicker due to expanded door.
I don't mind the expanded door just want to know experience of people who have used it - how long it takes to charge from 0 to 100% and does it almost give double battery life to Droid4 when compared to stock battery...

Just received 6500mA battery

Just ordered and received a 6500 mA extended battery for my Note 2 for $13:
http://www.amazon.com/Extended-Tita...&sr=8-7&keywords=6500+note+2+extended+battery
I was using a QCell 6200 ($24) and this one looked just like it so I gave it a try.
It came with a battery cover that's identifical to the one from Qcell and is a perfect fit. I love the Qcell so I want to give this a try. For me, having a 6200/6500 mA battery is a balance between battery life (longer than stock) and weight (1/3 less weight than Zerolemon 9300).
I put this silicon case on it:
http://www.amazon.com/LiViTech-Extended-Battery-Silicone-Samsung/dp/B00AXV0MXG/ref=pd_bxgy_cps_img_y
Just fully charged it for the 1st time. Will report back.
I'm pretty sure its 6200 mAh, not 6500 mAh. And I was about ready to say "uh, just another generic battery with a questionable quality", until I saw they are sold by Bastexwireless - Zerolemon retailer. That should add some credibility

Interesting to hear how it turns out.
I've bought replacement batteries for previous phones in similar casing as that and it turned out to be junk.
Yes, I know. That's why I like to try

Updated. I took notes when I remembered. THese are some numbers from this battery to give you some ideas:
%left / total time on battery / total screen on time
5%/33h21m/13h54m
3%/40h36m/13h48m
6%/46h00m/13h41m
12/8/13, 4th: 10%/37h00m/16h30m
12/10/13,5th : 7%/40h34m/18h36m
12/16/13: 7%/36h/15h39
12/18/13: 7%/33h/15h50
12/21/13: 10%/33h/15h

12/24/13: 6%/31h/15h39
12/26/13: 7%/29h/16h

I have used Qcell 6200 and the Zerolemon 9300, and they both are great. Although I have noticed better battery life with the Zerolemon.

Of course ZL has better battery life. It's a 9300 mA while the Qcell is 6200. It's 50% more than the Qcell.

So far, I really like this battery. The battery life is good. Here are some updates:
(the other one I ordered from dx.com last less than 2/3 of this one, even though it also said 6500mA)

Dang sorry if you got ripped off.
My battery just arrived today and I must say I like it. In person its a lot thinner then people think with some extra juice. I put my extended battery on at 7:15 with 56%(that's how much charge it came with) and now with close to 4 hours later, im at 40% with moderate use. If I had my other battery on and was using it the way I was with this extended battery, my percentage will be around 10%...soo far so good. ill report back later with how it goes
Does anyone have a recommendation for cases for this battery other then the ones stated in the op. I ordered it and I dont like it. Any other suggestions I would gladly appreciate it thanks
anyone tried to run this with battery saver on?
Just curious if it would last even longer if you really tried to squeeze it.

Battery mod

Hi, friends Sorry for my English. After almost 2 years my battery life on these amazing device is around 2.5/3 SOT on lightly using, so I was wondering do you guys think that will be possible to put a EQ40 battery(3900Mah) from Droid Turbo XT1254 in Nexus 6. Droid Turbo Battery dimension: 104.47 x 60.47 x 4.33 mm and Nexus 6 has battery dimension: 106.26 x 71.41 x 3.05 mm. Yes is a little bit thicker but I believe that is I remove the wireless charging coil it will be possible. Only tricky part is that ribbon cable was a little bit different position so has to be flexed or ribbon cable needs bo be replaced whit original Nexus 6 battery.
Thank in advance for everything whit some ideas and suggestions and have a nice day.
Not to mention how cumbersome that would be, even if you manage to put it in, that's just 600 Mah extra. Give Naptime a shot. Or why not buy yourself a power bank than taking a risk of bulging up the device (and mess with its basic water resistance)

After replacing the nexus 6 battery myself (with an aftermarket battery since I got tired of ebay batteries being doa) I can tell you that it will fit, you mighy have to cut the plastic frame panel on top of the battery which will result in an additional 2 to 3 mm of space ^^
---------- Post added at 01:43 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:42 AM ----------
Make sure to check the voltage first, the ez30 stock battery is 3.8v.

I broke it LOL
There's a black flex cable going to the other side of the battery so it can connect to the motherboard... I ended up breaking it
Anyway the phone still works even when that cable is broken, it just won't wireless charge. Keep in mind the coil component also contains the nfc antenna which is connected with another wire, which I didn't break and still works.
Video about the coil: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYuxoMBCyP0
I ended up buying a new coil: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Ori...32331420943.html?spm=2114.13010608.0.0.4df1Zr
Should be easy to replace like most parts ^^
This phone is the best I've had up till now, parts are easy to replace and as long it's not a broken screen it's not that expensive (new mobo is just $50).

How has this aftermarket battery been treating you? If it's good, do you have a link? I've had my device for a little over two years and while it's not terrible, its capacity is not where it used to be.

It's been great, it made me realize how much battery live I've lost before. Waking up the next morning and only seeing less then 10% being used overnight makes my day
It's an european brand probably reseller of a chinese brand. It has the same type number as the original oem battery. So I think it's just a reseller of batteries from the same factory motorola buys them ^^
And since they're directly resold they're new batteries instead of refurbished ebay crap.
Sadly enough I can only find links in the Netherlands and Belgium which don't ship worldwide :/

This is interesting!
How you are going to connect it? It will be fun to have any SPI/i2c interface populated anywhere on the board.
BTW I love Nexus 6 motherboard. All major components are on the one side and there is no compound used to glue chips. Makes any soldering work much easier.

Wasn't planning on soldering, the prototype nexus 6 had a fingerprint sensor connector connected to the buttons ribbon cable, gonna see if I can modify the ribbon cable like the prototype. It would be easier if the prototype parts were on eBay lol.
P.S
Last thing I soldered broke...
Droid turbo battery (EQ40) and nexus 6's battery (EZ30) connector is the same. I have received the droid turbo battery and it works with the nexus 6. However the frame needs to be modified to make the battery fit because the cable isn't long enough in height. I will try to cut down the frame
I am extremely excited to report that with some cutting away of plastic that I was able to fit the battery with the frame closed. However the plastic back cannot conform perfectly over the back anymore so I am not using the back cover.
I have the phone inside a plastic case. Also wireless charging is working and even with the coil removed the back cover cannot fit anyway so I might as well keep wireless charging.
Also I needed to bend the metal pieces on the frame that contact the speakers upwards so the bottom speaker can continue working with the increased height.
Battery life increase i cannot comment yet but I hope the extra 700mAh does some good
Does anyone know a reputable brand of battery for n6 or have a link to a reasonable replacement battery that isn't used? I know eBay and Amazon have them just don't want to have to do this again in a month because I bought a crap battery or it causes a fire. Any info will be much appreciated.
My n6 is starting to die at earlier percentages daily so I believe it will die soon. I need to buy a battery BEFORE total failure occurs lol!
Thanks in advance

Same exqct position as you brother, minus the money to buy a new battery lol
I'm posting to give feedback on using the 3900 mAh battery from the droid turbo. I now get the same battery life as the Google pixel XL that I have with 4-5hours screen on time over 2 days with excellent low battery drain idling. 8 hours idle lose 2-3%.

How difficult was it, any issues with process and any issues or size problems with not using the case? I want to try this but I have very shaky hands and am afraid to do this. I'm curious how difficult it is. I'm also very poor so I wanna make sure if I buy a different battery it'll be compatible. Thanks for reporting back to us

I know, I read - I'm curious after having it connected a bit if he's noticed anything odd, though. I wouldn't imagine the issue would be connecting, but wonky behavior after doing so.

You need to be good with a blade to cut the plastic away other than that there is not much else to it. Note you will not be able to use the back cover so you'd likely want to use a case. If battery life is the only thing you care about this mod is very worth it and will greatly increase the battery life of your phone.
