Yep, you can do it. Also you can flash open firmware with branded phone and all sh*t from brand will gone. You can flash your LGP990 with other country firmware to get other apps & languages.

i just got a moto x xt1058 form rogers carrier with android 4.4.4.
At the moment the smartphone has only Englis and Canadian language, but for my wife i need to install an european version with Italian language.
I already tested the Italian sim (Wind carrier) and it's working in 2g, 3g and also LTE.
