Hi, I want to flash my HTC One again since some time. I've downloaded the recent synch tool from HTC. Unfortunately I can't get fastboot working if I'm in the Bootloader. Fastboot works if my telephone is on but it doesn't if my htc is in the bootloader.
I need some help.
I'm using Windows 8.1 x64

to use fastboot in windows 8.1 your hboot must be 1.55.000 or up
or 1.54.000 android 4.4 GPE

Boot into fastboot and use "fastboot oem relock" command. But note, your bootloader will show RELOCKED instead of LOCKED once you do that.

Only with S-OFF you can get it to show LOCKED again. This means few additional steps, it's not hard.
I don't know if HTC repairs RELOCKED phones under warranty.

However, it won't read it as USB on my Windows 8.1, but it sees it on my Windows 7 and OSX. I'm trying everything to get some from of OS running on my HTC One.

If you have S-off then either run ruu or do fastboot flash ruu.zip.. Look up nik71 guide how to do that.

im having the same problem
i managed to get into twrp, and install 4.3, but its not 4.4
Bascially we are screwed
I too have the problem with blue screen on upgrade.
I got the OTA upgrade and when installing it, reboots, dropping me to a blue screen.
I have had TWRP with no issues
I have the Bigxie ROM installed.
When I try and get S-OFF and try moonshine, I can not find a version to match my HTC One
My phone was bought from Wind Mobile, and ROM IS is GLOBA001
Is there anyone who can assist us who are stuck in this way?
Thank you!
Just got my new laptop running windows 8.1. Now my ONE is not recognized when in fastboot, no fastboot drivers. Did a lot of research and found that everything works on the new hboot 1.55 which I don't run! Does anyone have the fastboot drivers available and can share? Or does anyone know of flashable for just the hboot upgrade?
I ran into the same issue on my home desktop computer with 8.1 after messing around with it I ended up grabbing out my old hard drive and booting back into Windows 7 however I would try flashing the Rumrunner H boot which should be compatible with Windows 8.1 as others have told me but I haven't tested it yet but that is my plan when I have to do my next round of flashing. Your going to have to use a Windows 7 (or xp) computer in order to do that but once you do then you can use your 8.1 computer from then on out
I wonder if I could get just the fastboot drivers if it would work without having to change my hboot. Does anyone have the fastboot drivers only available?
Go read the FAQ, @BD619 has the info you likely need in that thread (stickied).

You will have to upgrade the hboot for it to work on 8.1 regardless of what drivers you get at least that is my understanding. I'm on an older hboot because I did a custom hboot with my name on top. The main reason I did a custom hboot was to get rid of the ugly red development text during boot which rumrunner will do. The bootloader customizer plugin hasn't been updated to the new hboot yet so I would just flash rumrunner hboot. It just says rumrunner at the top and most important red development text is gone.
I'm trying to avoid changing my hboot because I have modded just the way I like it and I've never had a problem with it. But I guess is lose one, gain one!

Nice add to the FAQ, I had 8.1 before it was released so I ran into this issue right away but as it rolls out even more it's going to come up more often. With s-off changing upgrading/downgrading hboots isn't a big deal at all. With s-on you gotta be careful but this is the 1st time I can recall ever that upgrading your hboot has a benefit.

Both cid # and mid # MUST match the main-ver you want to flash. CID and MID require s-off to be modified.
i.e if you have a x.xx.161.x main-ver, you need corresponding MID PN0710000 and one of compatible CID like VODAP001 or VODAP102, etc... (Vodafone)
i.e if you have a x.xx.401.x main-ver, you need corresponding MID PN0710000 and one of compatible CID like HTC__001 or HTC__101, HTC__203 etc... (stock international)
If you have a CID that doesn't match your main-ver, your phone will not find any OTA update
If you have proper CID but wrong MID, your phone will find and download OTA, but will fail the update process.
f you want to convert using a RUU, both CID and MID must match otherwise the ruu will not flash.
copy/paste the output of this command
Code:
fastboot getvar all
minus emei and sn and it will be much easier to tell you what options you have.

Yes it should
So go to this thread and install adb/fastboot.
turn on usb debugging mode on your phone ''settings ---> developer option ---> check the usb debug box'' if developer option menu is messing from you settings menu do this: settings ---> about phone ---> tap the build number rapidly until you are prompted you unlocked developers option.
connect phone to pc via usb while phone is normally booted in Android (better to use port behind the pc instead of usb port in front. also i will recommend you not to use a windows 8.1 computer.
quote me when this step is done. (use reply below my post so i can see you replied)

You'll probably encounter problem later in the process with win 8.1. Win 8.1 require hboot 1.55 for fastboot to work. During the process you will need to downgrade hboot to 1.44 to flash the international RUU. And your phone will not be recognized by computer when using fastboot and you will be stuck there. So better to find a windows 7 computer or maybe you could dual boot win 7 on the same comp.
now you should be able to continue with next step even with win 8.1
so start Minimal ADB and Fastboot, a command prompt should open. with phone connected to pc and usb debugging enabled, check that drivers are working properly with this command:
Code:
adb devices
should output this:
Code:
List of devices attached
HT(yourserial#) device
